Flashed a custom kernel

First time flashing LineageOS 15.1 on your device, or coming from another ROM?
Make a BACKUP of current /boot, /data and /system partition first partition using TWRP.
Do a factory reset (wipe /data , /system and /cache).
Flash the ROM.
Flash the Gapps.

I was going to install the new AOSIP build which was uploaded recently but I noticed this thread.
Anyone have any input, or preferably experience with both ROMs to compare them?

Yes...

Working fine, flashed the ROM, Magisk 16 and NanoDroid and all works.
Note I upgraded from LOS 14.1 and only did a cache wipe.

Everything is Working Fine...
Even VoLTE , GPS, NFC is working...
It seems Quite Smooth!
Flashed it 15 mins ago... No problems So far.. Will report if I'll face any!

Is fling navbar available on this ROM?

Dear testers i would like to know if this Rom has
- Dark theme
- Smartbar settings (navigation mode)
- Bluetooth (connectivity sound) issue
- Battery stability.

I am still waiting for more testers of this rom before flashing it

Anyone find bugs?

Just tried to patch this ROM into my platina, but at first I got a Error 7 message. Looked like the updater-script had a line to many, or mayb misconfigured?
After removing this line:
assert(platina.verify_trustzone("TZ.BF.4.0.7-00100") == "1");
The installation continued as it should, and I'm now configuring the device.
I could also not find where this line should be matching to?

Think I was replying to fast...
The system could not boot at all as it was hanging on the first screen which says "Unlocked bootloader". Nothing else happened.
Tried all I could so far to make it boot but nothing worked for me.
So back again on a working ROM....

Uploaded lineage-16.0-20190111-UNOFFICIAL-platina.zip to /sdcard and entered TWRP-recovery (version 3.2.3-1003).
During installation the following message is shown:
Checking for Digest file ...
Skipping Digest check: no Digest file found
assert failed: platina.verify_trustzone("TZ.BF.4.0.7-00100)=="1"
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Do I have to wipe something before installation? Or what is going wrong here?

If you don't update to Pie before flashing any 9.x ROM, you'll have all sorts of broken things like sound not working, HWC broken, camera broken, etcetc.

I just installed this on my Redmi 5A. I have the latest official TWRP 3.3.1-0.
I tried to encrypt my phone, but right after displaying the usual message about taking an hour and having to reboot multiple times, the phone just went back to the lock screen. And of course, after cheking the status, it's still not encrypted. Should I use another recovery? Should I format the partitions differently? What am I doing wrong?
Edit: Nevermind, I resolved this issue by flashing OrangeFox recovery, then the official Mi ROM, then wiping Dalvik, Cache, System and Data, then Flashing Lineage and Magisk. I'm not sure which of these steps resolved the issue (lol), but I'm suspecting it was reinstalling the official ROM. I guess I shouldn't have wiped the Internal Storage.

The battery icon in the status bar does not change

I flashed it once.. But i got an issue.. When the first reboot after the flash, it shows "To continue the Android, please enter the password". Which account's password is asking about..? I tried many passwords.. but it shows "Wrong" all the time.. so i flashed the stock again..
Can u please fix it or pls say which password is asking about.. Thanks..

Issue with SD card
How to skip "How will you use this SD card?" (formatting SD before using)
I have 100gb+ used storage. Making a back up and restoring it will takes a lot of time thats why I wand to skip

Volte not working!
Clean flashed this rom from nougat version but volte is not working, tried adding ims APN setting and also tried to flash some old volte fixes, nothing worked for me :crying:

No, ROM doesn't include gapps but since many people are confused which gapps to flash for Android 11, I just mentioned the one I prefer

Alpha, but Stable
Considering the rom has been marked "Alpha", it's quite stable with good battery backup. I did not find any issues while using it as my daily driver. Thanks for bringing stable Android 11 for Rosy.

When installing google services FlameGApps-11.0-basic-arm64-20201031-ALPHA-11 the phone application is updated, after which it becomes impossible to call from the device. These Google services work for me NikGapps-basic-arm64-11-20200926-signed

well, please provide logcat if possible

I also found about the call issue the hard way. I resolved by flashing the ROM another time on top of everything. After that all was well. It was the same in the baunilla a11 ROM .

You mean the problem is solved in this release. Very good. But it appeared in the first one. I'm not sure if a logcat now is relevant.

calling was perfectly fine since initial vanilla build, there might've been some issues because of gapps
