Hi all,
I have an Xtrons TE706PL headunit in my car where i have the TomTom Go App installed.
The app won't show the map when im navigating to somewhere, i only see the blue line of the route that you have to drive. I've been in contact with Tomtom about this and they said probably my radio doesn't support their app.
Now i was wondering if any of you heard this problem before and if it could be fixed with a different rom maybe if thats possible for headunits ?
I've already tried the obvious reinstall but that didn't help.
I've got the same HU in a car and TomTom running well.
Before you reinstall the app, really delete everything of the old TomTom.
If there are still some files left, your problem will still exist.
TomTom is available in different versions, maybe you've got an old one?

So I just bought this Erisin ES8990A from AliExpress and installed it today. I went to Google Play and downloaded an app and ever since I tried to open that app (DashCommand), Ive had nothing but issues. I don't know if this app caused the issue or if it was just a coincidence. Now, when I turn the unit on, I am greeted with "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" every time I boot up. Ill hit ok then it will finally bring back the UI after a few seconds. If I try to launch almost any app other than what came with the radio though, I get "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" again. However after this happens, I have to pull the power on the unit because at this point I just have a black wallpaper and can't load anything. I really wanted this to work so I could use digital gauges with DashCommand in my Lotus but it seems either this unit is a lemon or it needs to be refreshed. I am new to Android so don't have any idea of what to do and figured Id post so I could get advice of how to fix this without losing any of the radio apps the unit came with.

So I found out the reason for the System UI crashing. As soon as I unplugged the USB -> OBD 2 cable, everything functioned correctly. I guess this radio doesn't support USB host. OBD Wifi and Bluetooth works fine and Dash Command is working as it should.
Never heard of anybody trying OBDII over USB on these units, but it's good to know you fixed it and especially that you came back to write the fix in case it happens to somebody else

In fact, it works. With Torque Pro and DashCommand.
But you need an USB based on FTDI or Prolific chipset if I remenber correctly.
I have a Huifei Rk3066 800*600, with Malasyk Rom. But it worked with all the roms I tried.
Hi, i just purchased the same unit Erisin ES8990DE and was wondering how to get it connected to my ELM 327 -OBD2 bluetooth dongle in my car..
I am using Torque Pro in the unit and it cannot find the dongle since it's not paired with the unit? It can only see my cell phone, which has been paired through the bluetooth-handsfree menus..
So my question is, how do i pair the unit with the dongle? I cannot find a menu in the unit where i could search for the dongle/pair it... And i cannot use the BT handsfree menu since it only receives the pairing, i cannot search devices with that..
Maybe there is a software i could use for the pairing, or can it be done through the normal menus?
Thanks,
Ville
U need to override BT and add the name OBDII. You do that via the Xposed(i think its called like that)
This is why the device is looking for the OBD only and not for OBDII.
Ok, thanks for the reply. Infact, i already bought a Wifi OBDII-dongle that works with the unit but i'll give this a try too.
I am having the same issue. The Erisin 2698 does not see the OBDII adapter in the Bluetooth list so it cannot be paired and used in the Torque app. The OBDII adapter can connect to a Android tablet fine. You mention Xposed to override the BT - how does that work? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Hi experts,
I have a great Joying 9" display unit. 2Gb version with Lollipop 5.1.1 (upgradable for 6.0 but am waiting a bit with this to see if anyone reports problems).
I managed to install TomTom (version before TomTom Go!) on this, and its working 100% with voice and all. Took some time tough
But now I would like to upgrade the maps to a newer version, and don't know how to.
I tried copying the new map files in the unit, didn't work, the tomtom failed to load any map data....
I tried to change meta file for directions to the new files etc., no good...
Any experts know how this procedure is made?
Best regards
Peder

TomTom maps you buy are linked to the unit's serial number. Assuming you bought the maps from TomTom, simply contact their customer service. If you're trying to use copied/downloaded/pirated files, you're on your own.
Good day! I bought from with a SWM A1 8227L hean unit from wish. I downloaded some different launchers for it and they work but I am not getting the radio icon to show up so I can use it. Won't come up and any of the launchers I tried except the stock launcher. I am thinking about getting another radio app for it anyways because this one only shows the station but will not show any info from the station such as station call ect.. Anyone have any ideas where I can get a decent radio tuner? Next radio will not work on the unit. Also has anyone ever rooted this unit? I haven't put it in my car yet but like to get it ready so I can slip it right in. Thanks!
Hello all,
I have the 1GB AllWinner K2001N head unit. All works good except when using navigation apps, such as HERE by Nokia. No matter the software, the navigation directions get truncated. For example, if the next turn's directions were to go to "908 Sampson Street is in three miles," the unit only say "908 Sampson is in three."
Anyone ran into an issue like this? Even if I connect a CarPlay Dongle to the head unit, the audio still chops off at the end.
Hi, turn to IGO navigation it is much better and sofisticated. You can find maps and other stuff on internet for this.
Download IGO from playstore or other platform that you have.

Thanks for that suggestion. I am still interested in the issue because apparently some music apps stutter like this too.

I think it doesn't exist, I've never installed one.
It's a shame that Torque needs an OBD adapter.
If you know what root is, flashing firmware, etc. you can change to another canbus app, but it still shows the same thing, just in a different graphic. No new information.. You can also change the picture of the car in the app, etc.
Try to change the car model, year, etc. in canbus settings. You might find something. Of course, everything at your own risk.
