Play protect doesn't think I should be having spyware like grow etc that keeps trying to install, and won't stop trying to install, and just sits there heating up my laptop.
Is there a way to remove all the junk?
Thanks

I am sick of all the apps that I never use like peep, twit, facebook, footprints, friendstream, stocks, starting themselves like 2 seconds after I kill them. What is starting them and how can I get them to stop it ??? I do not mind them being in there, and actually have heard of problems deleting some, so if I can just keep them from starting ??? Grazi ;-)
I've deleted every single one of those and then some without issues. You have to root and then remove them. Trust me, the reward is well worth the steps involved. Once you're rooted you can download Startup Manager from the market to select which apps will startup automatically upon reboot. That won't help you control those other apps you mentioned running though. You need to remove them or disable them in adb.
Sent from my rooted Incredible using XDA App
Just set all of those apps to never sync with whatever account they are tied to. Really a running application that isn't doing anything uses no resources.
But yes, if you root you can remove them.
After using the S7 in the A1 version for a while, there is a couple of questions arising to me:
I did the mistake of installing Twidroid PRO which now withstands all attempts to get removed. Even worse, it will start in the background every time I restart the device. I really want to get rid of Twidroid.
Whatever I do, I cant get any QR reader to work. After googling for the problem it seems, that some other S7 users experience the same trouble, while others dont. Maybe depending on the type of camera installed. Any ideas?
Some very basic applications, like Google Goggles, are not visible for S7 users in the Android Market. A few can be found on alternative sites and do work fine, but most apps stay unreachable. Is there a way to get those apps ?
Thanks for any hints to get more happy with my S7.
as for twidroid, root your device and uninstall it once its rooted, I will take a look at getting google goggles tonight and let you know
Thanks for your help. I did root the S7 and after some more fruitless attempts to delete Twidroid, I found the reason - but not the solution:
Twidroid disguises as a system file that resists any attempts to delete or to uninstall. Basically, the typical behaviour of malware.
This makes me even more worried about Twidroid and its "mission".
Removing system apps
Hey Ossyris,
Did you check out:

He seems to be removing twidroid "rm Twidroid.*".
Personally have not done this yet... but I will soon.
Anyone sideloaded the pictionary-like game "Draw Something"? It doesn't show up on the amazon or goog market for the KF.. Want to load it, but don't want to blow anything up. Should be safe to try right?'
edit: nevermind that was easy.. backed up apk from Rezound- transferred to KF- ouila! Not sure why I was worried to try that. Now - I suggest other xda'ers load it up and get a game goin w/ me!
Hello there
I'm about to strip my system of any useless (for me) function and/or app and restrict every possible spying activity.
I messed around with the system and deactived alot of bulk and spam. I also restricted all the stupid triggers with autostarts.
Don't know If anyone saw all the things going on behind the surface, using all the following things to analyse:
I'm using several apps to do so. Xprivacy, Android Firewall, Autostarts, Root Cleaner, Android Tuner, Root Uninstaller, LBE-Security Master and Root Explorer.
So my question to someone with experience is:
What exactly does the google play and also the google framework needs to work properly ?
Would be nice to know that.
cya
seems to be a big secret... ? I think, there are several commands in this play store like, if this app or this function does not get X, return "no connection", even if it got its connection...
no one knows ?
I think it is important to know...
So its summer and I'm getting bored, so i like to download hacked mobile games (modded apk) and play them. problem is almost every game and different versions of it (when I say almost every i mean all except one) keeps crashing upon opening. Those games all require an installation followed by transferring some folder under android/obb or android/data, and then afterwards when I try to open the app, they just crash. I figured it can't be a coincident that it keeps happening to me, so I was wondering if anyone know why this is happening and if there is a solution. Thanks a lot.
at XDA, people don't encourage piracy.
I know how to fix this. If you go to your play store and buy it, it should work.
