I am thinking about buying this smartwatch for a child. I would like to know if one of the physical button can be used to activate the voice assistant? Or can I used one of the physical button to fast dial a stored number?
I feel it would be easier for a child to loose a phone than a watch trap to their wrist.

I will be getting it tomorrow with 40% discount...
1) I planned to get rid of the keyboard and just use the Virtual Keyboard...anyone tried that ?
2) I tried to dial with one hand ...and it is possible (maybe coz I'm 6.2" man ?)
Anyone tried it ..is it tiresome ?
3) The size is big for a phone.... I wanted to use a BT with mono earphone but I could dial ...referabbly with 30 phonebook?
4) Is it really big in your normal levis pant ?
Thanks
1. It's up to your preference, but I'm sure it's absolutely doable. It would be just like any other portrait mode PDA, but much bigger.
2. It's easy enough, but I don't do it. Much better/convenient to voice dial and/or use the keyboard.
3. Not sure what you mean. There are BT headsets with contact lists.
4. If you have deep enough pockets it would fit but it will not be comfortable, just doable. I realized that using the leather case (with the keyboard) and carrying it like a filofax is much more convenient. You also have the benefit of immediately flipping it open if there is a notification (phone call, sms, reminder etc). Brilliant when using public transport. Hop on, sit down or lean on a wall, and start using it.
Lastly, if you are just looking for a phone, the you might be better off selling the U1000 and getting something smaller. The U1000 was made with "a bit more" in mind.
Hi
My wife is threatening to tear off my arms if I buy a Nexus One just months after I got a Hero without asking her.
I am still considering it. How good is the voice control of the N1? Is it possible to operate it fully without hands?
You can use your nose to interact with the touch screen, if your arms are missing. Just order it!
I'd say that it's not possible to operate a touch phone fully without touching it.
according to this voice dial over bluetooth is still not implemented
Hi people!
I leave i Sweden and it's very cold here right now. Anybody want to take their gloves of to answer calls on a touch screen Android phones.
We (north people) need an app that makes it possible to answer the calls with physical button.
I use HTC Desire. I think that the optical joystick button in the middle would be perfect. Or may be a search button? It is on all the android phones.
hmm, that may an issues for all Touchscreen device..
At Walmart, they have gloves that allow you to use touch screens while wearing them. They are awesome I have tested them on my Droid Incredible and my ipod touch that has a screen protector on it.
Well, I think it's much better to get an app. I can even pay for it on Market.
Hi all,
Got my Nexus 4 back in November; this last week it fell out of my lap while I was on a bus, hit the floor and the screen shattered. I was hoping that it would behave similar to iPhone shatters I've seen on friends phones (where the digitizer wasn't adversely affected), but I wasn't so lucky.
I've been able to perform basic functions on the phone using adb input keyevents, and got a Webkey server running so I can control the phone remotely. I'm planning on buying a new phone in the coming months, but while I'm currently trying to save money I wanted to get the phone working as well as possible using voice automation. I've been reading that the combination of Open Mic+ and Tasker is pretty powerful, but I'm lost on where to start from a programmatic standpoint.
Also Open Mic+ hasn't been foolproof, is there any way to bind voice activation to a hardware button?
Anyone have any tips on complete voice automation without any touch input? I can read the screen so I don't need the phone to read its contents to me or anything, but I'd like to be able to have the same functionality that adb's shell gave me with keypresses. So I could say "scroll down", "left, left, left, enter" and it would tab to the left a few times then select the option I had chosen.
So im looking for a keyboard that physically attaches to this phone, (im looking to upgrade my Tmob My Touch Slide 4G, yes there is swype, but try writing code in swype.. anyhow so im looking for some options for attaching a Bluetooth keyboard, something i can keep with the phone.
I was envisioning a large version of the MyTouchSlide4G or the Motorolla Droid 4, perhaps something like this
I have seen these things however - looks like you would need to use 2 hands or have it on a flat surface while typing as nothing holds up the screen while you are typing... if you were to hold the keyboard with one hand the phone would flop over.....
Something like this would be ideal but nobody seems to make something like it for the galaxy note 3
suggestions anyone?
