Hello, I was trying to install MIUI 10 for some reasons, well I tried to install using miflash but when i was almost getting it, there was an error and now the phone is in infinite loop when starting, showing the redmi logo and the black screen, I can access the fastboot but using it in miflash I can't anymore recognize in the software, I use windows 10 and when i click refresh on the miflash, it is as if the device had been disconnected from the computer.
I also tried to use the linux tool, using linux mint 19 but in all the ROMs I tried, the error "missmatching image and device" appeared every time :crying:
How long is th folder name? Right rom?
Do you have unlocked or locked bootloader ?? Get your stock rom ,fastboot rom, chose the right rom, unzip , open the unzipped file of the ROM ,copy all the files in there and past them in the file of Xiaomi drivers , than put your phone in fastboot mode and connect it with USB cable, double click on the " flash_all ", done. If the process will not run immediately, wipe all data and try again !!!

The name of the rom you say? Something like "lavender_global_images_V10.3.10.0.PFGMIXM_20190816.0000.00_9.0_global_8cf943bb70"
It's locked bootloader again? So you need to bring it to a service or have to open the back panel and try flash in EDL mode.

Path to folder like e:/rom/ llavenderrom....
Then make it shorter like e:/rom(all files inside.)
Sorry german user
Hello, sorry for the delay, I managed to install MIUI, I found that the version of my phone is Chinese, after trying so much I finally did, however when accessing the system, my wifi or sim reader do not work, so I can't even log in with my mi account. I do not know why
I still don't have the bootloader
Make a factory reset, but are you sure that the bootloader is locked ?? Because SIM cards usually have this problem if you have another rom from different region.

I already tried doing factory reset, but the problem persists. Yes, my bootloader is locked, I'm flashing through edl, and only china rom works, the global one appears that "this miui version can't be installed on this device" and goes into bootloop

Your phone is only for chinese market. So if you want to use global rom, you must install china rom first, then unlock bootloader again (wait few days) and then install global rom (with unlock bootloader).

I have the same problem, it would be too much hardware coincidence. To fix the problem you need .qcn and qspt but I'm having problems with that.

I have a redmi 2 as mentioned in the title, i have rooted it and using it. i tried flashing all custom roms, from lolipop to nougat. it doesnt seem to respond properly, too many random reboots, or bootloops.
so i wanted to flash the stock firmware and downloaded from mi website. I am unable to get my phone detected on the mi flash what so ever. really would appreciate if i can get some help, to flash fastboot rom. also some method to flash a good daily driver custom rom (volte support is not mandatory) just LTE working is fine.
i have other devices where i am able to tinker, except this. I flashed a redmi note3 recently too, but not able to get this redmi2 appear on mi flash.
thanks in advance
I think i can help you.
First uninstall mi flash
Assuming that you are using windows 8.1 or above, you first have to set the test signing mode off.
Press Start->Search->cmd then right-click on it and click Run as administrator. In the CMD window type this
bcdedit /set testsigning on
and press enter. Restart PC.
Now reinstall mi flash again. when installing there might be 3 - 4 warnings about installing unsigned drivers. install them anyway.
Now connect your Redmi 2 in fastboot mode. connect it with a proper usb cable to the system and then open mi flash. Press refresh on the mi flash application. Your device must be listed.
If not press start and select restart while holding down the shift button. Then select troubleshooting. In the advanced startup menu, select startup settings. Press restart. In the coming boot options menu, press 7 or f7. Now open mi flash and press refresh. Device must now be listed. hope it helps.
As for a daily driver rom, i would suggest cyanogenmod 14.1 nightly on 25.12.2016( the last nightly date ). VOLte works in my device. It will if you have flashed the lollipop firmware on your phone previously.

thanks for your reply...would definitely give a try....i mean im still on stock miui based on kitkat, havent flashed the lolipop firmware. I am running on windows 10, but what is the settings you recommended me to change on startup? i dint get that one. . . .
thanks in advance
I tried all the procedures, reflashed the stock firmware..and then booted with the latest cm14.1 nightlies..still my phone keeps on rebooting every 1min..
is it because of volte?i come from stock miui without volte enabled, and dont want either. i need a very stable rom like miui. . .but lighter one.
just in case i forgot to mention..i have the Redmi2 without volte, and 1 gb variant.
thanks in advance

Mine is also the same version, i have tried validus, tesla, lineage os(installed rn working fine),RR didn't faced any random reboots.
Try to flash the redmi 2/prime firmware via boot-loader don't use mi flash flash via adb/fastboot if possible don't use custom kernel.
and a different battery if possible.
Tip:- remove sim cards before flashing and format data via TWRP then wipe every thing except micro sd. And don't restore back-up created via Titanium backup either via update.zip or from app (some roms don't support so the device keeps restarting)

Yes its Okay but select flash all option, you should try to flash removing sim cards and memory card i strongly recommend. You can keep memory card while flashing custom ROMs.

Hi friends
Today I'm going to help you in unlocking the bootloader officially...
Many of us(including me) had problems in unlocking the bootloader...
It used to get stuck at 50 percent..
I had the same problem....
But here's what I did to unlock my bootloader....
Prerequisites:
1) MIUI 7.2.1 6 global beta ROM
2)mi unlock permissions on your mi account
3)Mi unlock tool
4)adb drivers
And of course RN4
Procedure:
First of all download global beta ROM from
http://en.miui.com/extra.php?mod=rom/download&r=309&mobile=no#468
It's a recovery ROM so flash it using updater app...
It will WIPE all of your internal storage so take a backup beforehand...
After flashing the beta ROM login using the same account where you've got the unlocking permission on your phone...
Now enable developer options and select USB debugging and OEM unlock
Now install the adb drivers on your pc from here
http://xiaomitips.com/download/adb-setup-v1-4-3/
After installing adb drivers download mi unlock tool from here http://en.miui.com/thread-204866-1-1.html
IMPORTANT
Now If you are using Windows 8 and above, disable the driver signature verfication on your PC... Its easy just Google it...
Now enter your RN4 into fastboot mode by pressing volume down and power button after switching off your phone...
Open MI unlock tool and login using the same account that is present on your phone..
NOTE: Dont use usb tethering of your RN4 phone for logging in to the MI unlock tool...it may result in you losing your unlocking permission... I dont know if its a bug or something but it happened twice with me when I used my RN4 for usb tethering...
I may be wrong but its always good to be on the safer side
Now MI tool will check if your account has the unlocking permissions....
If it does then it will tell you to connect your phone to pc...
Connect it using USB cable in fastboot mode....
Wait for a few seconds as the drivers will be installing on your pc...
When the drivers are installed A "Connected" message will be displayed...
Now we are good to go...
Just press on unlock option...
Now If you followed all the steps carefully and also if you are lucky, your bootloader will be unlocked...
the process may take upto 10-15 seconds
IF IT STILL DOESNT UNLOCKS,
Switch on your phone and enable find device on your phone....
Go to i.mi.com and login to your MI account
click on find device option...
Enable data connection on your phone...
Now click on your device on find device page....
It will start locating your device...
once it is located properly try to unlock your bootloader again using MI unlock tool...
IF IT STILL DOESNT UNLOCKS,
then try again after 7 days...
because PATIENCE IS BITTER,BUT THE FRUIT IS SWEET!!!
Precautions/Notes:
1) I flashed Global Beta ROM because l was unable to unlock my bootloader on Global Stable version... First try in Global stable again after 4-5 days before flashing a Beta ROM...
2)I unlocked my bootloader on the same day I flashed the Beta ROM....If you are unable to unlock then use the Beta ROM for atleast 2-3 days then try again....
3)You may use older versions of MI unlock tool if the latest tool doesnt unlock your device... I also used an older version of MI unlock tool...
4)Dont forget to disable the driver signature verfication on your pc if you are using Windows 8 and above..
5)Also check if adb drivers are installed properly;to do so connect the phone in fastboot mode, open the command window and type "adb devices" without (" ") this.. if your phone is displayed it means adb drivers are installed properly... usually the phone name will be something like 0147BDD and so on.... it will be a colection of numbers and alphabets... every device has a unique id..
if your phone is not displayed then uninstall and reinstall adb drivers....
Please note that this method has worked for me but MAY or MAY NOT work for you...
P.S. Sorry if the thread is too BIG
I hope that your bootloader will be unlocked after following these steps :good:
ALL THE BEST Fellow MIUIans :good:

The only thing I can access is the fastboot but my phone is locked and I don't the have the imei to unlock via calculator or the oficial huawei page.

Ok i searched for ways to find an IMEI number and found couple of ways...
1) Look under/in the sim tray. It may be there (I didn't check this out)
2) Find the IMEI/MEID using Google Dashboard. This is Google's control center that can be accessed from any computer with a web browser. You will need to log in with the Google account associated with your Android phone. You can access Google Dashboard by visiting www.google.com/settings/dashboard Expand the "Android" section by clicking the "Android" heading.Locate your phone in the list. If you have multiple devices associated with your account, all of the devices will be displayed. Find the device that you are trying to retrieve the IMEI/MEID number for. (This works)
3) At last, you can try to remove the back case and remove the battery. This can help you in 2 ways. Firstly, there should be IMEI code present under the battery. Secondly, this may cause you to get out of bootloop

Well, I f*cked up.
Fastboot works, I can flash stock rom via Xiaomi Flash. Flashing completes without any problems. A notification about encypting phone shows up, at 3% it jumps to 100% and resumes boot. Now after each boot, phone freezes at "input your sim pin" and reboots. Over and over again. What can I try, please help :

Try to format data in twrp or stock recovery.
If it does not work flash an android 8.0 or Nougat ROM. Do not lock the bootloader.

will give it a read, it it works, I'll PM you and you'll give me your paypal address. Fair is fair.
can't unlock OEM, because I can't boot up to developer tools. great, just great. will try to fix that first.
if you can boot to fastboot try to flash stock pie 10.0.4.0 with miflash, after that your device should be able to boot, than unlock OEM and bootloader and downgrade to what version you want

I can get to fastboot yeah, but MiFlash tool says that remote oem unlock is not allowed. So I'll probably have to open it up for EDL. Reboot to edl isn't working. Thanks for the advice tho.

i had a problem like yours, but i have flashed stock rom in non EDL mode and everything had start to work apart LTE band missing that i restored with qualcomm's tools
which stock rom have you try to flash? are you downgrading from oreo? bootloop on android one logo after downgrading is a common issue due to ARB (anti rollback protection)

reward is cancelled from this point on i will reward the one who helped me so far tho. still working on solving the problem so winner has not been decided yet.
you don't understand.
There are no winners and no loosers.
You are free to donate to anyone you want, but your post boost and encourages a bad attitude.
If people start to solve only paid problems, the spirit of the community will be destroyed.
The problem is with the Pie specific partition table
I write the whole guide from memory, so it can differ a bit.... I skipped some steps ( erasing, reboot, fastboot mode, TWRP loading via fastboot, OEM unlock )
From previous writings I think you can know the skipped steps.
Keep in mind: It is dangerous, you can loose your IMEI ( it will only work again with Pie - or there are some writings at forum how can you manually change it. ).
Steps:
1 - Backup with TWRP (fastboot) efs, persist, modem & make copy to your computer and or to your cloud provider.
2 - Create a new folder in Internal Storage -> TWRP -> BACKUP -> With a new date directory ( the backup already made one, make a new folder, with different date )
3 - Download someone's older TWRP backup from xda (I cheated, I copied the following links ) :
(I'm still a new user, so can't directly write url's )
Mediafire : https COLON SLASH SLASH bit.ly SLASH 2QU5NtC
Mirror: Google Drive : https COLON SLASH SLASH bit.ly SLASH 2UN1DTo
4 - Unpack, and copy EFS to the folder created 2 point
5 - Fastboot TWRP -> Restore EFS
6 - Flash the Official latest firmware from en.miui.com ( If you want to make sure go with EDL mode )
7 - Now, the IMEI & Mac addresses are missing. Don't panic! Download update with System Updates.
8 - When you are on Pie again, restore your first TWRP (fastboot) persist partition
9 - One more System restore
At this time, you will have IMEI & Mac addressees, and hopefully a working phone.
Hope this helps. The same thing happened with me 2 weeks ago. This is how I solves it.
Thank you, I solved it yesterday. Hopefully this post will come in handy for other people!
Can I flash global rom to my china version of xiaomi rn7? I have unlocked bootloader. Will I not get a bootloop phone?
You can flash but keep in mind that after flashing Global rom in your China variant Note 7, you can't lock bootloader again. If you do than your phone will automatically hard brick in a second.
I dont have plan to lock bootloader again. So it is okay to flash global?

No. You were directly told that locking the bootloader on your Chinese phone with global ROM would brick it. Can't you read?

"you can't lock bootloader again"
Do you understand this? Lol
Sorry to resurrect old thread ...
Do I HAVE TO lock bootloader after flashing ROM? Or I can keep it unlocked?
Just got RN7 with Chinese ROM and want to flash custom ROM.
Any advice?
Thanks
You have to keep it UNLOCKED if you flash a custom rom

Thanks!
I'm trying to unlock bootloader but something is not working... I downloaded Batch Unlock Tool, enabled OEM Unlocking and USB debugging.
But when I start Batch Unlock Tool and put phone in Fastboot - program doesn't see my phone... Is there a secret?
The only problem (what I see) - the phone gives me message "Find me service is not activated - can not receive SMS message. check SIM". But SIM is ok and I can send messages...
Or: what's the latest easiest way to switch from Chinese ROM to some custom ROM?
Thanks!
PS. Never mind! It was simply stupid USB3 port - plugged into normal one and everything worked!
You need an unlocked bootloader , and then use a custom recovery , eg. OrangeFox
Then download the china ROM.zip file for lavender , flash from recovery , then format data and reboot.
