Best Car Mount - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Accessories

I'm a fan of iOttie mounts....easy onehanded on/off. But mine is wearing out. What do y'all recommend? I prefer windshield mounts and it's always mounted landscape, so grip needs to be great to account the weight and the excess overhang.

two strips of velcro, been my preferred car mount for 2 cars, 4 phones over 8 years, plus helps soften falls.

Not a terrible idea. I've made a decided effort to protect my phone without detracting from the attractive design though...I don't want velcro strips on the back of my clear case.

Why go away from Ottie !! I've had 2 of the wireless charging mounts over the last few years. Granted they can get expensive but usually find on ebay for alot less

Hi all!
I have my favorite. Just take https://pancernik.eu/uchwyt/baseus-gravity-car-mount-wireless-charger-czarny and forget others
I have one from more than 1.5 years without problem.
Thanks

Pitaka case (buy at Pitaka), on ProClip car bracket with the Scosche magnetic high speed wireless charging phone mount. The ProClip & Scosche combo you can buy at ProClip, then the Pitaka case is a separate manufacturer. I took a chance and they work perfectly together. Even though the Pitaka case is unbelievably slim, it is nearly bulletproof and has the metal embedded in the right place on the back to work with the magnetic mount. I would take and supply photos but I am at the DMV... ugh

I bought one of these last year, fits the Note 10+ in a Spigen Tough Armor Case. With a Ravpower QC3 cigarette lighter to USB adapter, with a 2m Syncwire USB cable because it's all plumbed into the car's fusebox, it fast charges my phone with the screen on bright. Expensive, but worth it imo.

I bought two of these inexpensive mounts. They clip into a vent and let the top of the phone sit about two inches above the dash, just right to see texts and maps without interfering with the line of sight down the road. I have one mounted in my VW Jetta and one mounted in my Jaguar Vanden Plas. They open/release the phone easily with a button on the back and expand wide enough to hold the phone even with a leather wallet case folded open. My phone has never fallen out, and we have lots of potholes here in Nova Scotia on the cold North Atlantic. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01KM1J38G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have used several different ones - but honestly, there is none quite as good as the IOTTIE - best phone holder that i have found.

I have a Vicseed Wireless Charger in all my vehicles since it comes with the versatility of vent or CD slot mounting.
Pros:
- Air vent and CD slot mounts to better accommodate different dash configurations in different vehicles
- Automatic clamping system with adjustable base to match phone size to coils
- Solid construction
- Does a decent job of charging
Cons:
- Only 10W. Vanmass has a 15W one but it didn't come with the CD slot mount so I opted for the Vicseed
- The CD slot mount has an 8-point rotatable arm. This thing will wear out if you use it too much. I crazy glued mine in a single position and tightened the nut attached to the back of the holder enough to hold the phone steady but allow for it to be adjusted without a struggle (it's a ball joint so you can rotate and adjust to the angle you need)
- MicroUSB input instead of USB-C
- Even on sale, it'll run you around $40

I recommend the MagEZ Mount Qi by PITAKA, on Amazon. It works magnetically also charges my phone , but I've never had a problem with the phone falling or when driving. Its quite good.

Unless they have recently improved it, it charges horribly slowly. a better of magnetic mount is the Scosche mount (with high-speed wireless charging) that you can buy directly from proclip, which will supply a compatible Mount to any model car - which looks just the same and actually does work with a pitaka case on your phone!

?

I got this one as a present and I am really happy with it.

i dont think so

I use this one in my VW Atlas

And I loved

Want the most convenient mount? Just place your phone there and it stays - and when getting out of your car, just grab it! High speed wireless charging always built in.
Buy combo from Proclip: Proclip bracket with magnetic Scoche high speed wireless charging mount;
Buy from Pitaka: Magnetic case - both vendors told me they did not know if they would work together but I took a chance and it works perfectly! DO NOT buy the magnetic wireless charging mount from Pitaka, it is NOT high speed wireless charging, but rather horribly slow! (Funny thing is, the wireless magnetic charging mounts look very, very similar.)
Just look at their websites. You'll understand and never regret it!

Brodit holders for Kaiser on website!

www.brodit.com
Surely coming to proclip soon though...
The active one looks great. Swivels and lets it open while in the holder by the looks of things. Plus it looks like there is lots of room behind the handset allowing you to have an expanded battery.
Just spoke with ProclipUSA they have placed their orders with Brodit and expect their car cradles in a week....possibly two.
I just ordered mine.
According to Brodit and the people I purchased from (Who had a demo unit):
+ The holder WILL rotate from landscape to portrait while fixed in place
+ You CAN open the keyboard whilst in the holder
- The ACTIVE holder does NOT have a headphone socket and the cord to the cigarette lighter is NOT detachable. Thus, if you want audio out via the USB whilst charging, get a PASSIVE holder and the relevant adapters.

With my TyTN's active Brodit holder, I removed the USB charger from the holder and replaced it with the HTC y-cable and was able to get audio and charge at the same time. Should be the same straightforward swap with the Kaiser holder.

Hmm, I emailed Brodit about this subject and they informed me that the cable was permanently wired to the holder.
Can you by any chance send a pic? Maybe they got the wrong end of the stick. Stock arrives in 7 days or so, so I don't have long to change my order.
Good spot! There's a few UK sites that have these listed already, but I'm having trouble finding somewhere that sells both the holders and a USB/3.5mm splitter. Getting them from separate sites is probably going to be more hassle than it's worth in terms of delivery costs...
Anyone know of anywhere that sells both?
someone needs to design one of those splitters so that it basically extends the bottom of the Kaiser, maybe clipping in to the holes for the lanyard.
That way, you could keep it on whilst in your pocket (Yes, I keep my kaiser in my pocket) and not be afraid of there being twisting forces on the miniusb socket.
Sort of like this one but better moulded to the shape of the kaiser:

Apologies for quoting myself, but I've just taken my phone out in sunlight for the first time since I got it (stupid British weather)... Now I need somewhere that sells the Brodit mounts, a splitter cable, and something to make the screen visible outdoors!

The adapter is screwed into the base of the holder, and can be removed with a couple of screws. To use the y-cable, you need to remove the rubber/plastic casing around the end of the connector.
Here's a couple pics of it installed. Sorry, I don't have any of it apart but I should be getting a Tilt tomorrow and once I get the mount I'll post pics.

Unless they've changed how the usb cable is attached to the mount it should swap the same way. If you get yours first LMK how it works

The beauty of the Proclip is that you don't need to drill anything. They're designed to snap around the trim, which is why you need to get one specific to your car model. Removing it is just a case of pulling it away.
dsldevelopments do a suction cup with a proclip on the end.

Our USB cables are bare, they don’t have the plastic casing surround over the plug, as this is the ony way to ensure a tight and accurate fix, you may be able to DIY this solution as per the thread

I am torn!!
I may go for the active holder as if it comes to the worst you could always just hacksaw it off.
So what happens when you change cars
so,
what happens when you change cars (i.e., when you get a rental)..do you have to keep changing the vent mounts..

does anyone make a car adapter that is compatible with a weighted friction mount?
Garmin devices have this thing called a friction mount that is weighted. basically the underside is a soft rubber material that keeps the base from moving, and it is filled with about a pound (1/2 kilo for those across the pond) of sand. the base is very sturdy. i have taken many trips with this base with no movement at all.

You have to remove the plastic casing around the USB plug of the audio/power adapter for it to fit, but it fits perfectly once you do that. I have an active holder on order and will post pics when I make the swap.

That's my cousin's business and they obviously come highly recommended. They've got an high level of expertise on all things Brodit, so any questions will be dealt with professionally.

Which of these 2 would you recommend? (Car Mounts)

Looking for a Car mount for my Fuze, I'd like for it to charge my Phone while I use GPS.
http://www.expansys-usa.com/p.aspx?i=174282 Carcomm
or
https://www.expansys.com/zoompic.aspx?type=item&i=173938 Brodit
I realize the Brodit Gooseneck would have to be bought separate, but what I'm most interested in is how the USB fits with the phone. I know at least one is custom made for the phone but you never know. Could be shotty manufacturing.
Anyhow, any experiences?
I think the Carcomm looks nicer, but I prefer having the three outputs with the Brodit. The Brodit should allow audio/video output while charging, instead of just charging the phone.
The Brodit would be my choice as well. I could use the 3.5 out to hook up to my car stereo.
Check out ProClip (www.proclipusa.com). I've been using their mounts for more than 6 years. The nice thing about them is that they have units that charge when you place the phone in them, and they can transfer between different vehicles easily -- you don't lose your whole investment every time you trade cars.

Magnetic phone mount

Do you guys thing that a magnetic phone mount will affect the s10 due to the new wireless charging feature?
pitaka is making a case for the S10+ and S10 that won't interfere with wireless charging...

Should not affect phone as long as you dont place the metal plate in center of back of phone. Place closer to the bottom and stick it to the case not the phone. It's a pain in the a** to peel off phone. 20 bucks at walmart.
There are magnetic wireless mounts available, but my experience had been mixed. I just updated my review on Amazon of this device, from 5 stars to 2 (awaiting approval of the update). It was great for the most part, but the big issue for me was the inconsistent charge rate vs heating whilst charging. Sometimes it charged well, without heating much. Other times it was the opposite. I think performance was heavily influenced by exact positioning and the exact position needed was not repeatable every time.

I'm waiting for word on whether or not this Scosche mount is compatible with the S10+.
https://www.scosche.com/collections/wireless-phone-chargers#/page/1
I have a similar charging dash mount from Mophie installed in my car right now that has worked well with my Galaxy S8+ as a mount, but I never ran the wires for the charging part of it. I have Mophie's desktop version as well that I have on my nightstand for nightly charging and it works well to charge the phone through the Mophie magnetic case, so it is possible to have magnetic mounting and wireless charging in one unit. Unfortunately, Mophie canceled their ChargeForce line a while back so I won't be able to get a compatible case for my S10+ and I'll have to switch to the Scosche or some similar system instead.
There should be a Nillkin Magic Case released this month, with four built in magnets/plates to match the Nillkin charger. It looks like this design would avoid or reduce the problems of misalignment and/or overheating as it keeps thing well clear of the induction coil. S9+ version below. See Q&A regarding S10+.

On a side note, my S10+ 1TB should arrive tomorrow, direct from Samsung.

Varmint or car holder for note 10+

What car mount you guys are using for your Note 10+ ?

KENU. I have 1 for each car I like it so much.
https://www.kenu.com/collections/wireless-charging/products/airframe-wireless
Same one I always use on all my phones for last 5 years or more... 2 strips of velcro.. laugh but it's the best car mount you can use. Vent clips suck and never stay on. Same for suction. All the adjustable mounts end up pushing buttons. I slap my phone under my car stereo and that's where it stays. Still works with wireless charger and while in car no stupid clamps get in way of using phone. Magnets are probably better option for all phones but the note.
I use a DesertWest Wireless Charger. It charges my phone wirelessly while the screen is on while I drive. On Amazon UK, there are two different ones. The one I have is the one that lists the S10+ in the compatability, but definitely works with the Note10+ too
