Try if the following works (if you haven't figured it out already):
Go to the Dialler and type *#*#86583#*#*
Then go to Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks > SIM card settings (select your sim) > Use VoLTE (toggle should be enabled)

HSDPA in Brazil

Hi everyone!
CLARO has recently started offering 3G - HSDPA in some Brazilian cities.
Although I have been using TIM for some time I am strongly tempted to switch to Claro.
But before doing that, I would like to know if anyone is already using CLARO´s HSDPA and can give me some information about things like:
- signal quality
- download speed
- voip quality
Besides that, does anyone know any information about other carriers GSM 3G roll outs in Brazil? VIVO has got 3G but only for CDMA, I believe...
Thanks
Other Brazilian operators are catching up with HSDPA
I happen to work in a vendor for Brazil telecom market. As far as I know, VIVO will launch its HSDPA in August 08 and Oi will be in September 08. Clario and VIVO will have the biggest coverage. Claro has a bad image in 2G regarding network quality but it tries to change this image by 3G. VIVO always positions itself as the best network in Brazil and it is almost true. At the end of 2008 VIVO will have the best coverage in 3G in Brazil. But the configuration of data link of VIVO is very complex.
All Brazilian operators provides various packages based on speed and traffic. HSDPA is very good to run VoIP. I am now using a Claro HSDPA USB Modem and the average download speed is 1Mbps. Sometimes it even goes to 2Mbps.

oh. warid service is too bad. i also got no signal on warid. I installed signal info app. outside home i got 1 bar of LTE warid. thenk i checked signal location, and it tell me Lahore, while i am in rawalpindi. So , I switched to Zong.
and i also heard from a friend that Mobilink has bought Warid. and they are now implementing some change. that might be the problem of LTE bad reception.
sorry for bad english.

What I'd like to know since it's related to the subject is does anyone think it will work on Verizon given it has most of the bands Verizon needs. I'm cautious about this. Especially with the tencent version because for example, I bought the Razer phone 2 and it was compatible with their imei system, but would not give me more than a random interval of 2sec data, which making a call would kill said data.
I use att but I'd really like to buy the rog 2 and use it on Verizon if I can..
More info if it'll have bands 66 and 71; if VoLTE is supported, if Wifi Calling is supported would be great. Getting conflicting info.
I have the TEncent edition. Is there any app I could use to find out what LTE bands the phone could support?

I hope they add Band 71. My Razer Phone 2 sports it:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900
WCDMA: 1/2/3/4/5/8
FDD-LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/14/17/18/19/20/26/28/29/30/32/66/71
TDD LTE: 38/39/40/41
TD-SCDMA: 34/39
LAA: 46
4x4 MIMO: 1/2/3/4/7/30/38/66

This does not currently work with Verizon because the IMEIs are "not certified for use on their network". Asus is probably not going to pay to certify the China model so they might never work.
cellular band tencent version 128 amd 512
does the tencent 128 has a different cellular band with its 512 variant? im curious about it since i cant find any full phone scpecification and comparison of those variants from tencent.

Description: The Nano SIM card slot supports GSM / GPRS / EDGE, WCDMA / HSPA + / DC-HSPA +, FDD-LTE and TD-LTE DSDV network bandwidth. Two Nano SIM cards can simultaneously standby VOLTE 4G call service, but cannot connect two FDD-LTE and TD-LTE mobile data at the same time. Please ask your service operator if your region can support DSDV warnings! Do not use sharp tools or solvents to avoid damage to your phone. ROG Phone (ASUS_1001DA / ASUS_1001DB) requires a SIM card of Nano SIM size, please ask your service carrier. If you cut your SIM card yourself, it may cause a SIM card list.
I don't understand the VoLTE comment. Is that provided on different bands in China than here in the states? Hence why it would be my work here but will in the China?
Bummer, the Asus Rog Phone 2 USA version (ZS660KL-S855P-12G512G-BK) is listed on B&H and still has the same crappy bands listed as the Tencent version.
That means no Verizon, and T-Mobile will not have Band 71 so you won't get the full speeds there either.

On the ASUS website the US version is listed as having bands 12 and 66. Those two bands are missing on the Tencent Version. The only missing band on the US release is band 71.
From what I've researched, T-Mobile only uses band 71 in rural areas and is reserving band 71 for 5G. Bands 12 and 66 might just be enough.
I was bummed after hearing no band 71 - which my Razer Phone 2 has - then found out that the place I go regularly in the mountains doesn't use band 71. Must just be my iPhone XS (which has band 71 and an Intel modem) is worse than the RP2.

Wait.. I thought Tencent version has band 66?
Are you getting band 66 somehow? I have the tencent version and don't receive band 12 or 66. I also looked online again and don't see any mention of band 66.
I think the CN version did not have band 66. The USA version does.

That is not correct, I contacted Verizon Tier 2 support yesterday after inserting my Verizon sim, it registered on the Network and gave me a 4G+ data signal.
They indicated after giving them my IMEI that it registered on the network and they submitted a form to add it to the database. The process takes about 3 business days.
NA edition on Project Fi / T-Mobile. 2 out of 3 incoming calls I've had today have NOT been delivered successfully to my phone. On one it came through to my computer (gmail / hangouts) and on the other I didn't know until I got the voicemail. My phone didn't ring and shows no missed calls!
Might have to try a different carrier. What US carrier works best with this phone? I really want to keep it!
Edit - Today (the next day) was better. 4 / 4 got through to me. Mysterious!

Did you make sure you don't have Google Voice spam filtering turned on? When I was getting incoming calls from Apple, Google was blocking them all as spam, which caused them to ring in Hangouts on my PC but not on the phone, same as you. See if the numbers show in the voice.google.com call log and if so you can flag them as "not spam" to see if that fixes it.

should I buy the IN2020?

Hi! Ive been reading and I did some researching but im still confuse. Is the IN2020 the NA version or CN? With the IN2020 can I get 5g using Tmbile? How bad is it? Is better to wait for the NA version? Which band are missing? Any help please!
I'd like to know as well. Bought mine on eBay and it's IN2020 with international ware. I'm on Verizon with no issues but still curious.
I've got IN2020 via Wonda Mobile for the UK and it works fine, it has been flashed with OOS.
I've managed to pick up 5g via Three which was unexpected as I wasn't aware that there was 5g in that area. It's super fast, faster than my 4g in the city but no way near the ones I see in the US. I believe for the US the IN2020 will be missing a few bands so you might not get all of the 5g networks out there.
If you check Wonda they list what bands the phone caters for.
Yeah I have it on tmo in USA and I get 5g works great!

Strange the indicator states I have 5g but getting 60mbps, nowhere near the 1gb/sec.
I dropped down to 4g and got 30mbps. I wonder what's going on?
Could be that indicator just says it has 5g as a previous user stated. Damn, sux that it isn't actually 5g but eh works well enough for me.

Okay so after some digging here is what I found: This ebay listing where I purchased my device:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/OnePlus-8-...hash=item342648c8ac:m:m9cL3Ly1MTYuW6lfrhtO1Xg
It states: 5G band 41(2500), 78(3500), 79(4700)
same here: https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_8_pro-9919.php
Looking at the t-mobile website: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/coverage/t-mobile-network
it states: Frequencies that can provide 5G:
Band n71 (600 MHz)
Band N260 (39 GHz)
Band N261 (28 GHz)
Band n41 (2.5 GHz)
so... t-mobile USA supports it?

TMobile 5g speeds are about the same as 4g rates. Maybe a 10% improvement but not much difference. Sometimes my 4g speeds are faster than 5g. Obviously their network needs some help, lol but it'll get there.

Yes this phone support n41 but we don't know can it use US band B2 / B4 as anchor band for n41. Someone please test this in 5G-area. Please then send log to me. Here is instruction how to get log file: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g...droid-phone/#OnePlus,_Oppo_and_RealMe_devices and that log file can send to https://cacombos.com/contribute so i can parse log if support n41 in USA. on Cellmapper App example should see then 5G State Connected when really connected to 5G-network. Don't trust 5G icon because it appear from UpperLayerIndicator message.
I have listed some 4G combos supported in T-Mobile USA network: https://cacombos.com/device?model=IN2020&combolist=america_tmus_plmns .

I don't know if in USA have any map where used different frequency. n41 is used in Sprint network but should be available for T-Mobile customer after merge.
Current 5G NR NSA (Non-Standalone) network require 4G LTE for signaling - data could transfered LTE+NR or LTE / NR depends configuration. 5G SA (Standalone) then works only with 5G band but i think take few years to get implement to network.
T-Mobile's N71 is one of the most exciting things to happen to phones. 600MHZ 5g? I would definitely get the IN2025. I just grabbed a IN2025 from Amazon for $899 because it has a damaged box

believe this is the correct sub-forum?
in regards to its 5G bands, from sony.com / gsmarena
the xperia 5 II supports : 1, 3, 28, 77, 78, NSA/Sub6
while my city's 3 networks only provides n38 and n66, while they are both listed as Commercial NSA service on the "List of 5G NR networks wiki" (sorry can't post link since I'm new, have restriction)
have been reading articles about 5G bands but still haven't got a clue...
does that mean if the phone supports NSA/Sub6, then n38 and n66 are both supported since they are both "Commercial NSA service"?
or is it a straight NO since the phone only supports n1, n3, n28, n77 and n78?
Thank you very much!

Thank you for your reply,
not US but Canada, currently only 3 5G networks are available, Bell and Telus operates at n66, while Rogers operates at n38
does these frequencies considered as sub6? (sub 6GHz)
this is kind of the perfect phone for me in many aspects but if 5G does not work here, its a bit of a waste for the premium to go 5G (phone)

thank you, yeah i have checked that earlier, just doesnt know how the band number works in 5G in regards to SA/NSA/Sub6 and other individual "n" numbers...
will keep on reading about 5G bands
If your band is not mentioned it won't work. It does not support mmWave, that is why it only works in sub6 bands which all of the above bands are. Sub 6GHz in the electromagnetic spectrum.
