8227L head unit + Carplay Dongle (AutoKit) = No radio - Android Head-Units

I bought the Carlinkit Wireless Smart Link CarPlay Dongle
the software runnitng the carplay is AutoKit.
The problem is that I cannot hear the radio while working with the Carplay interface,
Every phone call or sound from the navigation system stop the radio and i need to go back to the home page and start the radio while driving

I have the same setup 3- 8227l demo headunit with carlinkit dongle for wireless and wired carplay. It worked fine when I first set it up, but then started having connection issues and the Autokit app would override the radio. I had updated the carlinkit device and Autokit app to latest versions. I think that was the problem. I uninstalled the latest version of Autokit APK and installed a 2019 version. It now works fine. In the 2019 version the wifi disconnects from carlinkit when I switch the radio on (or shutdown Autokit). In the latest version of Autolink it seems that that Carlinkit dongle would keep trying to reconnect to my phone and then close down the radio. 2019 version seems to run just fine.

@GL350 Same issue here, where dis you find the older APK?

I found it on kayhanaudio.com.au

You will need to be careful to set it so it doesn't autoupdate when the headunit is connected to wifi or its own data source.

Android auto style wired connection to generic android head unit (BT and USB tether)

Hi,
I have bought a generic android head unit (brand coho) with android 9.0 from aliexpress. My kia sorento has android auto enabled but the screen is 7" and resistive. Navigating waze is a slight challenge. So I bought a generic brand with working canbus, and the car usb connection to the player work.
When I plug in the phone to the usb of the car, a file manager comes up. Is it possible to setup the phone to function when connecting android auto based unit. Where the:
1. USB wired connection gets enabled so that the unit can connect to the Internet,
2. Bluetooth turns on so that I can make calls from the car.
3. Contacts get updated to the head unit.
4. Music can be played to the head unit
5. Navigation which was set on the phone gets displayed or remembered by the android player.
Possible?
As far as we know. There is no unit that supports thether over usb and Bluetooth.
Ok. Thanks

YT5760B CarPlay issue

Hey just got my YT5760B after I bricked my YT9260B... and I took this one beacuse of the built in CarPlay but for some reason its doesnt work...
Already went into the factory settings-USB settings: and turn off and then on the CarPlay tab, did a factory rest, using an oem Apple cable straight to the system(with no adapters or something like that).
Please if someone can help?
BTW: saw this firmware huafei_YT5760B_ui1_5760B2G-ota-v1.65 somewhere and this guy said its solve some problems for him but its a downgrade for me cause I have the 1.68
have similar unit YT5760B on v1.70 firmware. Looks like firmware had some changes on how it works with carplay around v1.66 but mine (v1.70) works as follows. Took me awhile to figure how to make carplay work. Basically just lack of user manual. There are 2 ways. Wired and wireless
Wired
- Connect iPhone via Apple lightning cable to the USB plug with the 6pin connector to the HU
- startup zlink app
- thats all
Wireless
- Connect iPhone via bT to the HU
- startup zlink app
- zlink will auto config a wifi link between HU and iphone for carplay
- thats all
My zlink (v3.8.34) also supports Android Auto. Was able to connect Android via wired link to both USB ports. Haven't yet figured out how to do wireless.
A couple of notes on carplay
- wireless CarPlay definitely has more latency on phone calls compared to an USB link or just plain BT to HU.
- firmware offer no ability to control (or add a gain offset) to carplay. Thus switching between carplay phone calls and HU's radio is quite a problem. See my post here
XY Audio AC8259 zlink volume quite a bit lower than other HU sources
HU's radio, local media, bT volume are all quite a bit higher than CarPlay sounds (calls, music, siri) via zlink. So when listening to HU sources (eg radio) and a phone call comes in on CarPlay, need to increase volume to hear the call. When the...

Here is a long thread on various firmware versions and how carplay is handled. It seems there is/was a way to auto startup carplay without zlink and with zlink so wired only and including wireless

Connect more than 1 iPhone to Zlink possible?

Hi,

I know that because I have Carplay in my other car. But both I and my wife use this car and I can't find where/how to connect her phone too? When Carplay opens there are no such options so it must be in Zlink somehow?
that is in the iphone carplay settings and the radio automatically connects to the last paired device
I understand that but where do I add the second phone? Shall I turn mine off and let Zlink look for a new phone?
I have a problem that people can barely hear me on the phone. The Carplay volume was also very low but that I managed to fix with Siri talking and at the same time increase the volume on the steering wheel. Also it takes a very long time before Zlink / Carplay starts when starting the car. The guy I bought it from asked me to reset the unit.
First time I used it I connected wifi in Zlink but now on a video i saw the guy connected hot spot in Android. Which way should I use now after resetting the unit?
And thanks for your help!
you = I understand that, but where do I add the second phone? Do I turn mine off and let Zlink search for a new phone?
=yes, cancel your pairing and let the second phone connect
Ok got it. Can I make other settings in Zlink by opening the app?
not much
You forgot to tell me where I should connect my wifi? To Android system as hot spot or in Zlink option? My unit has a SIM card installed if that makes any difference?
The Bluetooth as I understand I will connect on OEM phone app?
carplay works with wifi and bluethoo transmission the sim is only to give internet to the android system (google maps etc) not for carplay actually carplay is on your mobile and mirrors your radio
the rest already in google

So I should connect both Bluetooth and wifi to Zlink / Carplay?
I don't remember any option to connect BT on Zlink?
I found out today that people can't hear me using Carplay phone because the Android unit uses a built-in microphone on the screen and not Mercedes OEM.
Is this normal?
