Make notifications persistant on lockscreen - Google Pixel 4 Questions & Answers

Hi,
ok this more like a general Android question but since I own a Pixel 4 it might be different on other phones. I am looking for a way to make the complete notification persistant on the lockscreen. When I get a notification it shows up for a few seconds but then disapears into a small icon. What I am looking for is a kind of iOS notification lock screen where the message stays on the lockscreen. Is there any way to do this?

Notification shade

My old iphone was jailbroken and had lockinfo installed. that way I could mark emails as read and read txts from the lock screen. i would love to do something similar with my Atrix.
I was thinking it would be great to just be able to pull down the notification shade on the locked lock screen. that way it is clean looking, and if i don't want to unlock it, I can just pull the shade down and interact / clear notifications from the shade. does anyone know if this is possible, or if any one has implemented a similar hack on another phone? i would be happy to get My hands dirty in the code, but have never worked with Android before and was hoping for a jump start.
the app widget locker will let you do this as well as give you full control over your lockscreen.
Is there any way to add toggle widgets to the shade like touchwiz does, that seems to be the only thing I liked about touchwiz

SMS Preview Options

I posted this over in the general GS4 Q&A forum in the relevant thread, but I haven't gotten a response. I figured I'd ask here in a new post in the hopes that someone will read it. This is a copy and paste job, which is why the beginning and the edit seem out of context:
Hey guys. I am an N4 user, but I just bought my girlfriend a GS4. She's discovered a problem that I can't find an answer to.
Is there a way to have text messages preview ONLY in the status bar and notifications? It is very useful to have the preview of the message in the status bar and expanded notifications. However, it seems that the only way to enable this is to simultaneously enable the preview on the lock screen. Even with a secure lock screen, the preview of the message is still there. It seems odd for the control for two completely severable features to be bundled together in this manner. This creates a completely unnecessary compromise between convenience and security. Not to mention that even with the preview option turned off, a message identifying the sender still shows up on even a secure lock screen. I am thinking that I must be missing something in the widgets options, and I can remove this text "widget" (which is exactly what it is in practice) completely from the lock screen without sacrificing the convenience of previewing the message through the status bar and expanded notifications.
So, any advice? I'm guessing switching to a third-party messaging app might work, but I (and she) heavily prefer the stock messaging apps. I am looking to avoid this and simply find a solution while still allowing for the stock messaging app. I am going to try Lockscreen Policy in a few, and I'll report back on that. The idea came to me while typing this up.
EDIT: Looks like Lockscreen Policy did the trick. The message still previews in the status bar on the lock screen, but the text message widget that was the major problem is now gone. Unfortunately this trick prevents access to all other lock screen widgets.

Hi,
Open the messaging app.
Go to settings, notification settings, and untick preview message.
It's nothing to do with that, the lockscreen displays a big ugly grey bar stating you've got a new message or a missed call whenever you get one. It looks crap and I want to disable it too. I started my own thread a few weeks ago but got no response apart from replies like above which aren't the answer. Another one told me to turn notifications off, but although that stops the grey block on the lockscreen, it stops absolutely any notification of new messages, etc so isn't ideal really. There'll be a way to disable it with root access, but you could always install a different lockscreen to prevent it if you wanted.
Nothing under System Settings -> My device -> Lock screen?
- Multiple widgets
- Lock screen widgets
Also while on the lock screen, you can drag down and edit the widgets, try doing that while the notification thing is up?
Doesn't work unfortunately, it just overrides whatever widget you have on the lockscreen.
Does anyone know, short of using a different lockscreen?

[Q] Lockscreen notifications since Lollipop

Hi , in the past (4.4) I had NiLS installed and could see the different apps notifications on the lockscreen while the phone was locked and screen off . Once a notification came in the screen was "waken-up" and I could see the notification. NiLS worked as a widget. Now, I understand there's no more widgets for the lockscreen , OK with that. The Lollipop replacement is the built-in notifications , however, when a notification comes in I can only hear the sound of it but the screen stays turned off. I couldn't find any decent notifications app that can now co-exist with the new mechanism. Any ideas ? how can I make the screen wake up for incoming notifications ? many thanks.

Second screen tied to notification drawer

For years I have hidden the notification drawer on the top of the screen, most of the info there is duplicated in my widgets, and I just don't like the clutter. However with the V20, hiding the notification drawer also turns off my second screen...which then gets rid of one of the marquee features of this phone.
I've tried on multiple launchers (Nova and Next), and the same result. I've tried permanently hiding it, and using gestures to toggle on and off.
Does anybody have any suggestions? Any rooted users know if this is a problem after root? This one little problem annoys me to no end.
Thanks a lot.
I'm on a non-rooted Verizon V20.
There is a setting that might help that allows it to be active when the display is in fullscreen mode. It's meant for videos so it might not have full functionality.
I'm rooted and I get the same thing. I use Nova and the "toggle notification bar" shuts the second screen off along with the notification bar. I don't know why they're tied together like that, it's annoying...
The second screen's "show time while content is shown" option will leave it on with the notification bar toggled off, but it doesn't do anything, it just shows time and notifications up there. You can't scroll it to get to anything.
