Hey guys and gals!
I'm kind of new around here, but figured I'd post this in case it helps anyone.
I just recently rooted my Android YB, and was poking around in the file system, and discovered something. The file explorer the YB uses is the same one that is in Phoenox OS. Why's that fascinating? I installed Phoenix OS on a Lenovo 120s I have laying around, and rooted it. I wanted widgets, so I looked for solutions. After playing around I renamed the file explorer apk to apk2 to disable it, rebooted and widgets appeared. Apparently this file explorer can be used to restrict UI functions? If so I'm wondering what'll happen on the YB. Any thoughts before I try it there?

does anyone know where on the phone market installed apk's are located? i thought they would be in \system\app, but i cannot find them using droid explorer. i need to pull some old apk's that have updates that reduce the functionality of the app.
thanks.
root directory, then /data/app
thanks chromium. in the back of my head, i knew that at one point.
Hi,
I have tried searching and been baffling with my galaxy for the past 2 hours and still can't do what appears to be simple tasks.
I struggled with S1Click, but eventually got there although I only did root, not shell root?
I want to run droid explorer mainly so I can make a back up of the files outside of what kies backs up.
problem is, phone is recognised but the file structure doesnt exist?
Am I doing something wrong?
Also, I noticed when I went to go back up apps it started copying the correct file names, but crashed at update.zip.
Any one shed any light on this for me please?
Also doesnt appear possible to view the phone via windows explorer any more with droid explorer installed.... is this normal?
hey guys,
been looking around at android apk creation and there seems to be many languages and ways to get your program on an android device. Hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.
I"m looking to create an apk file that will never touch the marketplace. I want to custom load it on my devices. So here's what I'm looking to package. A folder containing a custom flash menu, with sub-files in the direct that are all flash. Now I do have the new flash 5.5 with the air for android extension, works like a charm.
What is the best way to get a full dir into an apk. Everything will be developed through flash, never java. any input would be great. Thanks!
I did a search, but it yielded no results, so I'll ask it here... I use file Explorer and every now and again it will tell me in the status bar that I'm using this much space on the internal memory and ask to delete recently downloaded files or something to that effect. I tell it no and go on with my day. Today I realised that 7gb have mysteriously gone missing from my download folder inside file Explorer. I have no idea what happened to them. I'm currently running PureNexus with elimentalX kernel. Has anybody else experienced this? I'm wondering if this could be rom, file Explorer, or download manager related. Thanks in advance...
I am having the exact same damn problem as you. and I cannot copy it out of my phone, because it cannot be found in my phone. lol wtf
PS I am on Android N, and this has happened to me multiple times in the past.
Same thing with me. Stock ROM, rooted.
It's weird, the files can be found on the phone but not while trying to transfer files to PC.
There was a known bug since Android I-don't-know where whenever there is a new folder/file created, commonly in the Downloads folder, Java wasn't reloading that folder so it was stuck to the last time the folder was reloaded, long story-short, it stays as it is until you reload the code.
Try clearing Media Storage cache and then reboot. That got mine fixed.
I have a S6 lite 2022 LTE version SM-P619. It's rooted and works great but I tried to change to boot screen qmg and shut down qmg's with ones that have a bit more animation. They work once but next reboot or shut down the original boring qmg's are back and the ones I inserted into the media folder have gone poof. Start up ones are that important but my shutdown one is of a tv shutting down that look really nice on the tablet. once...
edit: after doing a few things on this tablen I begin to wonder, is there some sort of security on the root partion? When I delete a file from the system/app it comes back after rebooting. When I rename that file, it comes back to original after rebooting.
Most puzzled... never seen this happen before.
*Bump* because I would really like to know how to really delete an app without it returning after a reboot. Rooted and using Root Explorer. I go to Root/system/app and delete a file such as DailyBoard. When I reboot the tablet it is back in the app folder like it was never deleted. As well, the issue of overwriting the shutdown.qmg is same, reboot and original is back. Am I only one with this or is anyone else seeing this?
Okay, I finally found out why this happens. Samsung has made all dynamic partitions (odm, product, system, vendor) READ ONLY! So even if you are rooted, you won't be able to debloat or change files on anything in the tablet (S6 Lite LTE 2022 P619)
So after searching around for an answer, I stumble upon a solution that worked for me. But you have to be able re-build the AP-P619XXXXX.tar file. Reason is that you will have a new super.img that is Read Write and allows you to delete files and push files to your tablet without the changes being undone. And rebuilding the ap-tar file is because the tablet doesn't have a working fastboot in it.
Go to: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...system-partitions-to-read-write-mode.4521131/ and follow all instructions carefully. You DO need to be rooted and do need Magisk install to be able to use this method. Good Luck
