Is it at all possible to install twrp on a nexus and the flash a rom without rooti? As long as I have twrp? I know that it is possible with the kindle fire. Thank you alot

No you do not need root. Rooting and unlocking the boot loader are two different things. You can flash a ROM if your boot loader is unlocked, and you have a custom recovery. But keep in mind, MOST ROMs come prepared rooted so you will gain root from flashing a rom

Ok so on my phone whenever i wanna flash a new rom i have to go to a safe recovery to install it but in here all i been using is my bootloader v8 which has thor recovery, so u can safely flash any non hc rom from there right?

Yup! To flash a non HC Rom requires the unlocked boot loader/custom recovery - v8/cwm in your case
If u do want to go back to HC - you'll need to downgrade via an official EUU or timmydeans v4 modified EUU

Thinking of upgrading soon to the 2013 model and wondering if anyone is having issues with flashing a custom ROM.
No. Flashing ROMs is just as easy as any other nexus device.
Once you have a custom recovery, just download a rom and flash or use GooManager or whatever method you like.

Hi guys, I'm extremely troubled. I am running the stock firmware 10b. I rooted and tried to install custom roms. When I flash custom roms, I get some errors. I seem to be able to flash gapps And other mods, but I just can't install custom roms. Is there any fix?
