op5 turn off when temp. 35°C - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

My op5 turn off during a video cal or watching videos or gaming.
I think is when the temperature is higher around 35°C. In the car I put in front of the a/c to lower the temperature and after that I can reboot them.
I already fix the baterry with an original one and happens the same.
What can I do more?

Magician very high power consumption

Something strange happens with my magician. When watching movie ot listening to music it gets hot and the battery goes empty for no time... I've noticed that the consumtion is above 800 mA. When I stop Media player or SmartMovie the consumption is over 200-210 mA.
Please, help me
Everything repaired It was hardware problem - the loudspeaker was damaged. I can't find original now and replaced it with 16 Ohm from Siemens mobile phone.

SGS mic volume / deciBel sensitivity

So, out of boredom i came across this useful App
deciBel
Apk: http://www.appbrain.com/app/decibel/bz.bsb.decibel
great tool to check and measure noise level in the area
however our SGS phone is so sensitive that even at a quiet room it measures 60+ db which is rather extremely high
in a noisy environment it jumps between 76 db to 140+ db
can some body else confirm?
also if you happen to have another Android phone with a less super active mic, can you compare what is the range difference between that phone and of the SGS
thanks
I wanted to calibrate it properly so i can use it to measure server room noise, and desktop fan noise, and other type of noise wherever i happen to be in to replace the noisy parts with quiet parts
Got that app too. Still got to calibrate it...
The best thing to do is to get an profesional Db-meter and try to calibrate it.
I'm in the Sound and Light engineering and the my boss has got a expensive machine for that like €1200 ($1627) because it must be extremely accurate.
So if you go to a concert and see a tent in the middle before the stage, ask if they have a dB meter

[Q] Display Problem (low battery dimming) and Audio Problem (reduced headphone vol)

I have recently purchased a Verizon Galaxy S4 and love it. Initially I planned on loading a custom ROM but now that it is rooted and I have removed much of the bloatware, I realize I don't want to give up most of these Touchwiz features. However, there are two simple issues I have never had with an android device before that are bugging me.
First of all, as I'm sure many of you have noticed, when the battery reaches a certain level, the brightness dims to the lowest level possible and you lose the ability to manipulate the brightness. Generally this happens when my phone has at least a couple hours of battery life remaining. Granted, a bright screen will reduce this time but I'd rather have some usable time than none, as the brightness level reaches a point where the phone is completely unusable if you are exposed to any sunlight at all. I have tried going through the settings as well as overriding the brightness with an app I have called Screen Dim to no avail. Has anyone had success brightening the screen at low battery?
Additionally, every time you plug in a 3.5mm stereo jack into the phone, it drops down the volume and usually forces you to acknowledge a dialog box prior to permitting you to raise the volume. This is a wonderful feature if you are completely oblivious and all you ever use are low impedance headphones. However, I use this almost exclusively on loudspeaker stereos, 90% of the time it is my car stereo while I am driving. Occasionally I use bluetooth headphones but I'm not dumb enough to blast that on full volume so this feature is pointless to me. So now here is one more button I have to read and push while in the act of driving in order to get music playing which is unsafe. Is there any way to circumvent this annoyance?

Something curious about the speaker volume lowering issue

I've intermittently had an issue where the speaker volume lowers when listening to loud music or playing games. It's more noticeable on driving games where there is a constant drone of an engine keeping a baseline volume.
I've always thought it was a software issue but I've seen various other people had this problem and some even said an RMA cured it.
Well I did am RMA and i tested it on the new device and the issue had gone. Until now.
I thought I would have a quick blast on Need For Speed most wanted before bed. To my dismay, the issue had returned. It's the end of the day so I'm low on battery so I played whilst charging. I noticed the issue but also noticed i hadn't plugged my usb cable in properly. I plugged it in and by the end of the race, volume had returned. I raced again without issue. Then on the next race, i decided to pull the cable out and as the battery warning popped up, the volume dropped down instantly. I plugged the cable back in bit the volume didn't return for a short while. But it did return.
I've done a few more tests and it seems at low battery, i can consistently pull out the usb cable and the speaker volume will instantly drop. I've done some counting and it seems again consistently that volume gradually returns back to what it should be at what seems to be almost exactly 15 seconds.
I'm wondering now if this is some crazy battery saving measure like dropping the CPU to 2.2 GHz at 40%.
I'm hoping some of you guys with the same issue could do some testing and report back here to see if you witness the same kinds of trends. Maybe we could use this thread to catalogue our crazy hypotheses about what this may actually be too.
Test 1 with Battery 20% or lower, volume on full
-Plug in USB to charge
-Load a driving game (GT Racing 3 for example)
-Whilst driving with engine noise, pull cable out
Does the Volume lower? (Expected Yes)
When plugging the cable BACK in, does the volume return after about 15 seconds and remain high? (Expected Yes)
Test 2 (same as above) but at 40% battery
Does the Volume lower? (Expected Yes)
When plugging the cable BACK in, does the volume return after about 10 seconds and remain high? (Expected Yes)
Test 3 (same as above) but at 40% battery
Does the Volume lower? (Expected No)
Edit. Further results, its doing it at 30 and 40% battery too, though it seems to recover within 10 seconds now. I don't think its a feature because its not like the volume drops to a certain % then stays there, it fluctuates around at lower volumes..up and down.
Further to this, I've just tested the game at 60% and it didn't happen at all. I'm convinced it's a bug relating to how the CPU and GPU are throttled at "low" battery levels. I say low, it starts throttling at 40% which isn't low at all.
Please can anyone else with the speaker volume issue see if they can reproduce my findings?
Yep, same here, sound issues are common on the Nexus 6 as on Moto X. Motorola is already aware, you can look at their forums.

Same here as in you can reproduce the problems at specific battery %? Or same here you have an issue?
I do know people have this issue. It's just I noticed odd behaviour which may help pin it down. Can you test please if you haven't already?
Yes, at low battery it doesn't sound as loud as usual.
I'm also having static noise when calling and playing Mortal Kombat.
Motorola's sound drivers suck big time.
There is no solution? I'm really pissed off with this issue. I can't enjoy my music.

If we know what causes the issue, who knows? Maybe we can get a fix.

I'm doing the test now. I'll update.

I test it with Poweramp max volume. Volume lowering when 20% below. But when I plug it to the charger the volume slowly comes back. Maybe it's a SW issue or feature. (Fck I hate this) That when the battery is below 20% they will optimize the speaker. Motorola should fix this issues. Such a shame to experience this on a Nexus phone.

I get some weird noises only with mortal combat.

Thanks for testing.
I think it is Software affecting hardware. I don't think it is intended though because when the volume lowers, it doesn't seem to stay at a single volume, it kind of fades up and down a bit.

Same here with mortal kombat. Good to know its not just me
For mortal kombat sound issues try viper4android, but there is no solution for low sound on low battery

I would but I'm not rooted and don't want to be
It's a software issue. Motorola already stated that. One guy exchanged his phone 4 times with the same issue (static sound from battery when low on battery)

We're not talking about static though. But what software are they putting that issue down to?

I know
My device gets staticy and distorted when turned up above 50% volume, whether the battery is charged or not.
And whenever i get a call, the ringer is real low then blasts up to full volume all the sudden
I think it's more of a software issue, as with any custom rom or kernel, it seems to operate properly at least on my device, but now that i'm on M, i'm seeing this volume-dropping issue. How many people running custom roms/kernels have this issue?
Mine does it no matter what im running

Static during engine start

Hi all,
I've just got my PX5 Isudar headunit. All is fine, canbus + sleep mode etc. But I have a small issue :
If the unit is playing music and I start the engine, it loses a little bit of power and makes some static noise, then continues running without restarting or anything else.
Does anyone know why is this happening ?
Thx.
Bump
when starting your car, you drain to much current from the car battery to keep the voltage high enough for the amps in the unit to work correctly. the amps will brown out (have to low voltage to work) and come back on again..
to counter this problem you can either:
get a new battery for your car with a higher CCA rating (Cold Crank Amps), or:
get a honking big capacitor to feed the unit whilst starting the engine..
(new battery is cheaper )
