Hi Friends,
I've just installed LineageOS 16.0 on my Samsung S3 Neo and encrypted data partition.
For the moment the device is not rooted.
I would like to know the right way for upgrade TWRP from an encrypted device.
I'm using Linux Ubuntu 18.04.
I've try from fastboot, but the device is not recognized, while it is correctly recognized by adb.
Is it possible to upgrade twrp from twrp adb sideload?
Or using a non encrypted microsd where I will place the upgraded TWRP?
Many thanks!
Hi there,
I've solved buying an Y USB cable and put twrp on USB stick, then booting from the previous TWRP and install/upgrade the newest TWRP.
Thanks

Hello all, I unlocked my nexus 4 installed TWRP ( tried several versions) currently 3.0.3 and now TWRP bootloops..
Any thoughts or fixes for this ?
I added a screen capture, " could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer" unable to mount storage, etc.
Did you try 2.87? Is the phone encrypted?
I haven't tried 3.0.3, but 3.0.2 works flawlessly on my N4, with device encryption.
TWRP seems to be failing at decrypting your data partition.
Does Android boot in normal mode?
I will try 3.0.2 and report back... thanks for the help!
precisely yesterday i was in the same situation when i was trying to downgrade to 4.4.4 oem.... i fix it installing other recovery, recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.7-mako http://www.4shared.com/zip/6v3Z7Ghrba/recovery-clockwork-touch-6047-.html
but i install in MAC, in windows i don´t know if is the same process, i was follow this video about how to unlock bootloader in mac
when i install the recovery and enter in fastboot, i put in restart, it will request for fix (yes or no, you choose) the root, i choose NO, and the nexus 4 wake up again in the Cooked Rom, so i try again downgrade :fingers-crossed:
hope it work for u like me
Hi, all.
I accidently wiped the system partition of my Nexus 6P in TWRP. I have a Pure Nexus ROM and gapps on my computer, that I've been trying to flash via adb sideload. The sideloading goes successfully, and it seems like the ROM is flashed. But when I go to reboot, I get a warning from TWRP: "No OS Installed". How is there no OS installed when I've flashed a ROM? Isn't that the OS?
What steps should I take to unbrick my phone? Thanks in advance.
It sounds like you're only putting the image on your phone, only the first half of the resolution?
Either use USB to move the file over to the internal storage, or ADB push the file, and then use TWRP to flash the ROM as normal.
Hi, I have a essential phone running Oreo 8.1, just recently I have rooted the phone with magisk v16 an twrp 3.2.1, I successfully flashed it with twrp but after the flash whenever I want to get into twrp it just freezes up on the mount data screen and I have to force reboot it, does anyone know a solution to this problem
Make sure you're following the exact steps from this post. Every step is crucial (except #3, because you have to disable your screen lock before booting twrp.
You shouldn't have to manually mount anything in TWRP either. The magisk installer might give you an error about mounting system but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

You cannot have TWRP installed with 8.x.
TWRP is not compatible.
You must flash the original boot image, then install magisk.
TWRP cannot remain.
You will boot loop.
Please read the instructions on rooting carefully.
Ok thank you
Why can't TWRP replace recovery instead of boot?

No one has created a bit image with TWRP as the recovery.
Sent from my PH-1 using XDA Labs

Because the partition layout of the Essential does not have a recovery partition.
Recovery is contained in the boot image.
So to have TWRP resident/permanent, the boot image must be patched.
It has been done for 7.x, but sense 8.x is still beta, there is no official TWRP for Oreo.
Once Oreo is final, I expect we will get a TWRP that works.
The current limitation, means you can't flash without a computer handy.
Hi guys,
I hope you will be able to help me with getting back to stock. I wanted to root my phone, so I unlocked BL installed TWRP to A partition, installed TWRP to both partitions via TWRP , set boot partition back but was unable to boot to the system. TWRP was launched on A even B partition. So I installed custom zip rom from TWRP. The ROM booted but I lost touch screen. I wanted to go back to stock but even adb sideload (error:adb sideload footer is wrong) even flashing stock rom via "eraseall" option doesn´t work (the cmd window force close after few seconds and phone is booted again to custom rom). I read almost whole discussion tried some things but without success. I tried different cables and both USB ports on the laptop and still the problem persists.
Thank you in advance for your advice!

Bro install any custom ROM.. download any custom ROM for le 2 from xda forum then paste it in your internal memory then flashed it from recovery
To put a custom rom zip file, you need a PC. When TWRP is active, you can put files into the internal storage via USB without booting system.
Easy process
Download any Le2 rom, put it on a pendrive then connect it via OTG cable on your LeEco mobile. And then flash the new ROM. Done!
