Hello Team,
I have rooted my phone (OP 6T McLaren) and wants to re-lock the OEM.
How did I root it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL2XwYDDW2s
Tools used to root the phone - TWRP (twrp-3.2.3-2-fajita), Magisk (v20.1) and fastboot
Current Details
Oxygen OS Version - 9.0.17
So the question is - Can I lock OEM with TWRP and Magisk on the phone? If not, how and would much appreciate if someone can put me in the right direction please?

Reflash your rom through local upgrade to get rid of twrp & root..
And then proceed to relock the bootloader via fastboot
Relocking the bootloader will wipe everything on your phone..
Locking your bootloader with TWRP and Magisk will result as a brick i thing, it's not adviced to do so. Only relock when everything is stock

I brought a OnePlus 6t and immediately unlocked the bootloader. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't as I'm not really sure I need root.
But now I have, I need to root to use various apps now that I have unlocked the bootloader.
When I first rooted it, I didn't install twrp but can't remember what I did and cant find any guides.
Can anyone let me know what process I need to root without installing twrp please?

Boot in fastboot mode, then temporarily boot into TWRP (fastboot boot TWRPimage.img) and flash magisk zip and reboot system.
P.s. "boot" command does not permanently flash the image.

Here is the complete guide
If you need root without twrp you can patch the boot image for root access
Guys I need a fast response please,
I have a rooted Oneplus 6t mclaren with magisk (stock rom), I sold the device the buyer will come in a few hours. My question is, when I format the phone by factory resetting it, will the device lose magisk root and twrp ? If yes then I need to reinstall twrp then magisk ?
If someone is buying it why would you need to unlock and root it again? Just do it, if you lose root than great if not then no big deal just install stock boot image.
I'd be super sketched out if someone tried to sell me a pre rooted phone.
thank you, what is the easiest way to unroot phone ? I think its better to sell it without root.

Magisk manager, unroot then relock
Or
Fastboot flash stock ROM then relock

,I have a 6T tmob that I converted to international 9.0.11 and unlocked it then tried to root and install twrp.. I used the All-in-one tool, twrp loaded on phone and installed magisk BUT I couldn't reboot into system, only twrp.
Didn't want to see it up permanently So I went back to a locked BL and stock international 9.0.11... until I can figure out my issue is, I'm sure something.
Any advice is appreciated
Thanks
I think after doing the steps you are supposed to reboot twrp and flash magisk again? Could be wrong

If your having issues just try to do it manually and see if problem persists.
Will try to go back step one.. Manually as you stated
Thanks
Will the current version of TWRP and Magisk work or should I wait a while?

Twrp is device specific not android version specific
Magisk generally works with all android versions
If you can unlock your bootloader your set to go
TWRP works on 955F on pie beta, but as I said there, it doesn't work on rooted or debloated devices. You can use TWRP, but without root.
I have pie. Twrp recovery, rooted magisk 18 and heavily debloated. Works fine.
Don't listen to him
how did they do it to root it? I have android foot beta 950F, thanks

This should help with the RMM state, twrp and root. As far as I am aware it's still the same process as with Oreo/nougat

Very Interseting
Im sorry, but please can you explain how you done it?
I don't know if the Aroma debloater will work with it oder other mods like dolby atmos und build.prop tweaks..

Hi,
Does anyone know if it is currently possible to flash the update from twrp without a reset and maintain root? Or if root if possible how to achieve it?
I have the same question, any way to do it without wiping all data..? or rooting without TWRP impossible? like kingroot or something.
Pie update (official) messed my s8 and it got stuck on bootloop, i had to flash trough odin and now i have broken knox forever, great.. I don't want to wipe all data again and I would like to possibly unroot if i root.
If I end up with the 4/64 variant (then my 2/32 lives on as some backup device/wifi)...pretty sure it still will have stock Nougat. If I upgrade immediately to Oreo via OTA, can I still unlock the bootloader and root, or unlock it on Nougat and then upgrade via OTA and then root it?
Also, true I couldnt reflash a TWRP backup of a Pie ROM on my 2/32 and into a 4/64?
g 5 +moto
re lock ur bootloader back to stock then up grade to 8.1 if ur a senior member you should know that.2/32 4/64 are hardware in your phone .
Not exactly the answer I was looking for. The exact question is, unlock bootloader on Nougat or unlock after upgrading to Oreo? Or get the unlock code while on Nougat, upgrade to Oreo and then unlock and root?
If you're not currently bootloader unlocked, then you'd be best to take the OTA. After that, you can unlock the bootloader and root. If you're already unlocked, then you'd probably be better off just getting a TWRP flashable oreo build and just flash that. I wouldn't take a TWRP backup from one phone and restore it to another, since it might cause issues with things like serial numbers and IMEI. You'd be better making a backup with Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant or something similar. Just remember that unlocking the bootloader will wipe the phone. So if you re-lock it, or it's not currently locked, make the backup before doing that.
Update to Oreo with LMSA, unlock bootloader then root. Make backup before all. LMSA will prompt you to make back up, I think.
