[HELP] Cursor/Mousepointer on NON-Rooted Shield TV Pro

Is this possible ? heard people have the touchpad on the controller to work on tablet and portable but not on det Shield TV.
I would LOVE to have this fixed when a whole lot of my sideloaded apps need it for touchinteractions.
Can't root the device since one of the main apps im running and want to keep running is Get TV (Norwegian TV Provider) and once rooted the app will not work, rootcloack ect can't hide it from the app, feel like i've tried everything.
Heard some had it working before the 1.1 update ? why did the support fall out after this and why wasn't it fixed ?

Sorry nvidia has said that it is not a supported function of android tv so it was removed in updates after 1.1 . Does not seem like they have any plans to add it back either. i installed the full android rom from zulu99 and use my jxd7800 as a controller and the touch screen as a mouse with droidmote.

Darn, was really hoping it would come back. But with full android, is it possible there to use the right stick as a "mouse" ?
Haven't tried unrooting a pre-rooted rom before but that might be a solution to my problem in that case, but will i then be able to nativly play games from the NvidiaHub/NvidiaGames + stream from my Gaming PC with a unrooted rom ?
Thanks for the reply ! Will keep on trying to find some good way to go about this, perhaps finding a bluetooth TV remote with mousefunctionality might work ?
I have set Logitech K400 (with unified receiver on a USB Hub) and with the app Logitech Keyboard Plus You can set whatever language You prefer in Android settings as the app adds an entry for the K400. You have to discard the Bluetooth request at the beginning.

shield tv that great?

so i come to realize my chinese tv box is gone.i got a question about shield tv.could i make the home screen of the shield tv like image below? does tinycam pro work with this box?

It is that great yes. But you cant have a home screen like that, and since its Google TV play store, you have to sideload many apps that are common on normal Android boxes, ie. browser.
The only way to get a custom home screen, and normal Google Play store access is to root install a custom rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tv/development/rom-t3325771

Gamefly streaming on shield?

I'm curious if anyone has gotten gamefly streaming to work on the shield box. Tried to sideload one method but it says it's incompatible with the device. I'm going to attempt it when I get some time, but wondering if anyone else can confirm that it's possible and working or not.
I'll take the plunge, and say no way in hell. nVIDIA in their finite wisdom have blessed the Shield with its own Streaming Service called GeForce NOW. I'm less sure exactly who, or what GameFly are. But, if a second Streaming Service were ever added behind GFN. I would hope it was Steam.
That doesn't mean all is Lost however, you could still get yourself a GTX650 (Or better!*), and stream the PC client side to the Shield using Game Stream.
Or barring the rest of it ask GameFly to add support for AndroidTV, as a hole.
*AMD/ATI Does NOT count as better
Thanks for the response, but that doesn't answer my question. I have GFN and already can stream most of my library from the PC and steam. GFN has a somewhat limited library available with it's subscription compared to Gamefly's, which is available on a simple firestick, fire TV box, smart TV, or emtec box. Obviously if it works on a firestick then just about any crapbox will do.
I get it. Nvidia shield is superior, that's why I got it. I would rather install an app on the shield to try out other available technologies that isn't proprietary to just nvidia instead of buying another box just to try it. Hence my question if anyone has successfully installed the app on the shield.

Well then I take it that it's NOT in the AndroidTV NMPlayStore then. To wit my personal advice would be to sideload it. But outta personal interest is it in the Amazon App Store? If that were the case I might try sideloading the Amazon Underground App first then if you can install it there.
If not, then I would use something like ES File Explorer to copy the *.apk to a MicroSD, or USB Stick and then install it threw ES File Explorer again, on the Shield TV. Which should be simple enough, even if it was a PitA.

Hey Man, I have the same issue that you. Did you found any solution?
Thanks in advance
I was able to download it from mirror play store, and side load it. It runs, but with no navigation from the NV TV remote or game remote. But I could use a mouse and keyboard with it. I didn't get a subscription yet to see if it will work, and it probably will with keyboard and mouse, but my assumption is if the app doesn't recognize the NV game controller to navigate, then it won't work for games as well. Didn't try a PS4 or other Bluetooth controller with it yet. If you've tried this, at all. Let me know.

android and iOS virtual controllers?

Is there a way to connect iphone and/or android phone to act as a controller on nvidia shield? I have 3 xbox one controllers but apparently they are not bluetooth version like I thought. I don't want to buy new controllers just for the nvidia shield. I want to try out some party games like Sonic with my friends over the New Years eve. It would be great if anyone that wanted to play could connect their smartphone to use as a controller. I tried android app BTcontroller but it wasn't recognized as an accessory on nvidia shield.
is this possible? I played bomb squad game with my GF using their own app controllers. Other games like Sonic don't have that though.
Droidmote Server runs on the ShieldTV (requires root, and might have been broken by the 7.2 update) and the client runs on an Android phone. It can be tricky to set up, but the developer made a number of videos to help.

It looks like there isn't a root available yet for 7.2. I did more research and I might try cetus play.

Installing Android TV on Panasonic TV TX-58DX780

Hi there,
I have inherited a Panasonic TV model TX-58DX780 which I believe is from year 2016. The operating system is Firefox OS, which is discontinued. The app market is pretty limited, obviously.
I would like to know whether it's possible to install Android TV in this device, so as to erase the original Firefox OS and having the same system as I would have if I bought a TV today running Android TV. I haven't found any references online about how to do this in my specific device.
This is my first smart TV. I have installed Linux from scratch in some computers over the years, but I'm not a developer and I have no clue about TVs. I'm assuming the process can be similar: booting the TV from a USB drive containing the new OS to be installed.
A second question is whether this is actually worthy: if it's going to be a can of worms, perhaps I'll be better off with just buying a Chromecast? My purpose is not to experiment, but to have a TV with a OS that I can use to install modern apps.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.
Cheers, Manuel
