Hello,
I'm a heavy user of Glide and I get really annoyed by how the Samsung Note 4 front-facing camera performs. It seems that Samsung implemented low light compensation which makes any head or hands movement look ghostly. I'm deaf so use sign language over Glide video to my friends and my hands blur easily when using front camera.
Is there a way to turn off the low light compensation or does anyone know the proper channels for me to go through with Samsung to ask them to, at least, add this as an option.
Thanks,
Jared
i'm quite disappointed with the front facing camera as well. on paper a 3.7 mpx front facing camera with "wide angle lens" should appeal
to most people, myself included. i've found that the front facing camera has lots of ghosting, choppy and partly blurry movement.
this is only confined to the normal selfie mode on my phone though. i have tested out the wide angle selfe mode, and that one seem to
work fine, with smooth and decent motion and movement. most people haven't complained about this, but i'm definitely bothered by it.

Does anyone else have issues with the viewfinder moving super slow when it's dark at all?
It's ridiculously slow for me with every camera app I try
No. How dark are we talking here? I've used mine in dark jazz clubs and concert venues without issue. Just stuck it in a dark corner of my desk and it came up and focused just fine, better than my work issued iPhone.
I have as well. It's insanely laggy moving it around unless I'm in perfect light, and even then I get camera lag
Viewfinder? And focus? Not ridiculously laggy but laggy like any other phone handicapped by being a portable flat camera in my pocket. Wouldn't expect much lag if any in the viewfinder but focus should be expected as it needs to do more work to get focus.
I also has this laggy/non-responsiclve touch focus when in taking dark areas. On V10h on dual SIM V20
Last time I read this thread i was not able to test as it was bright and sunny. I think it is a combination of focus during dark scenes, which isn't uncommon and LCD ghosting.
Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the , all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Great
Weird thread but ok. Love this phone actually, just wish the battery life was better and that the Moto team spent more time on the camera software.
Agreed battery life not as good as hoped and camera needs attention hopefully can be sorted with updates

This phone is a steal at its price point, android 1, great camera, great performance except for gaming which I haven't checked, good speaker and signal strength.
tl;dr of pros and cons
Pros
48MPx camera (quad pixel, 12MPx image and 5MPx depth sensor)
25 MPx FFC
4K Video (30fps)
Slow-mo ([email protected] and [email protected])
OIS (rear camera only)
Fingerprint sensor is relatively fast
Face unlock
21:9 LCD
HDR10 certified display that's bright enough on a sunny day
Reasonably loud speaker
Quick charging
Headphone jack
Overall design
Performance
Cons
Light bleed around the FFC on LCD
Fingerprint sensor is not reliable
Touch sensitivity is horrible white charging
Again, touch is less sensitive while using screen protector
Little bit buggy software (as of September 2019)
Camera app is bit slow
turbopower is QC 2.0, not the newer one QC3.0
GPS sometimes slower
Good to know stuff
NFC antenna is below fingerprint sensor
LCD is behind Gorilla Glass 2.5D
Back glass is Gorilla Glass 3D
Photos in low light might have purple-ish tint, but only sometimes ?

Did you start facing too much problems after android Q
related to LCD, system ui etc?
What was there a change in screen refresh rate after android Q? Please reply ASAP.
" LCD is behind Gorilla Glass 2.5D " ....
Let's see , I have this phone almost a year , first I was really in a hurry to put on a screen protector but due the curved screen I can't use it so since several months I use the phone without screen protector , only with a plastic back cover . I must say I'm surprised all this time the screen is scratchless , absolutely clean and bright . I don't know what Gorilla Glass class is but it's fine to me .
Have any of you noticed a red light to the right of the speaker when in sunlight? When in direct sunlight you can clearly see it but when you get into a darker place it's not noticeable anymore.
I think it's just the ambient light sensor but I just wanted to make sure nothing is bad on my end.
It's probably a reflection of the light sensor as you said, but you're under some goddamn strong sun to be able to see that, remember to use sunlight filters XD
I'm pretty sure it's ambient light sensor, probably you should try calling someone and see if it lights up at the same place where you see it
Used an app called "Proximity Sensor Test" which tells you when the sensor detects something which confirmed it is a proximity sensor. RMN 7 has a Sensortek brand and they have proximity sensors with ambient light sensor combined so I'm pretty sure it's both.
Can Samsung Galaxy S7 edge camera record/capture fingerprint through back or front camera?
Because as per my think galaxy s7 edge camera can capture fingerprint when we put finger on camera or camera when capture our finger prints and it is not good for our security?
What are you talking about?
Cameras can't capture fingerprint..except for in display fingerprint witch s7 doesn't have.
And if you are talking about the heart rate sensor, then no it does not capture your fingerprint.. there's a sensor under led flash which measures your heartbeat..duh

Yes i am talking about smartphone front/back camera sensors can they capture our fingerprints(and can cause security issue) when we take snaps or videos or when we put fingers on cameras sensors?

If the cameras could so easily capture your fingerprint don't you think that the producers would use that, instead of a separate sensor?
