Does anyone else have issues with the viewfinder moving super slow when it's dark at all?

No. How dark are we talking here? I've used mine in dark jazz clubs and concert venues without issue. Just stuck it in a dark corner of my desk and it came up and focused just fine, better than my work issued iPhone.
I have as well. It's insanely laggy moving it around unless I'm in perfect light, and even then I get camera lag
Viewfinder? And focus? Not ridiculously laggy but laggy like any other phone handicapped by being a portable flat camera in my pocket. Wouldn't expect much lag if any in the viewfinder but focus should be expected as it needs to do more work to get focus.
I also has this laggy/non-responsiclve touch focus when in taking dark areas. On V10h on dual SIM V20
Last time I read this thread i was not able to test as it was bright and sunny. I think it is a combination of focus during dark scenes, which isn't uncommon and LCD ghosting.

I'm wanting to find out if the noise in some of the photos i've taken is normal for the HD2
I expect noise in a camera like this, it's just the nature of having such a small high mega pixel count sensor, I just wanted to find out if what im experiencing is normal. I've got a week left on my 14 days and would like to exchange it if it's not normal

Perfectly normal.
You're taking pictures at night and even standalone digital cameras would struggle to take a decent picture in those conditions.
The Camera will be ramping up the ISO which increases the noise anyway (and as you pointed out coupled to a small sensor just isnt great), the only way to take a decent picture with noise that isnt noticable is to use a tripod, a very small aperture and a very long shutter.
This, being a phone, doesn't have the luxury of that kind of control.
Just take pictures during the day and they are decent enough.
i get it too, including the exceptionally bright flash that usually washes out most photos, just have to live with it im afraid, or fiddle with camera settings, see what happens, but you'd have to constantly change them between night and day....
Thanks, Yeah i expected the noise in pics from the phone. Just the banding was concerning me a little bit.
It actually does pretty good at night in certain situations, there are more pics on my twitpic account from last night that came out ok, very little noise, though a bit more blur. im guessing it probably picked a lower ISO for those.

I have to agree, the camera on the HD2 is outstanding in the daylight, nearly rivals the Sony T33 that ive carried around for a long time for quick snapshots. I just wish they could put a small optical zoom on the camera, even something as small as the 3x optical zoom im used to the with T33. im sure that's asking a bit much with the space constraints within a phone. Im still happy none the less.
The camera in my old Wizard was worthless, i barely ever used it. It was passable outside on a bright day, useless under normal indoor lighting conditions or darker.
Found myself in several situations where i wanted to take a pic but didn't have the T33 on me. HD2 = problem solved =)
I just noticed that there is a TMO USA HD2 specific forum. Since this is about a TMO USA HD2 could one of the mods move this thread over there? Like to see what kind of response i get from other USA version users
So, my problem is that my camera does not seem to focus an Objekt, even when I "touch " it in the camera app. It is still a bit blurry when I view the taken shot. When I look at my friends Nexus 4, colors are much better and everything is sharp. Is it possible that I have a broken camera? The settings are exactly the same...
It may be helpful to post some example shots.
1st thing to look for is to make sure that the glass covering the lens is clean. And shoot in good lighting.

Here's a sample. If you zomm in you will see the Blurry borders. They are really annoying because when I look at the pic on a PC, I am able to notice it. Maybe it's the cameras fault or Googles fault for bad drivers and software.

It seems to me like the hardware is perfectly capable of the focal lengths to get clear focus, it's just the autofocus implementation that's broken. Is autofocus a driver level implementation? If so, would it be feasible to try and create a custom driver to at least allow for true manual focus?
There are several things that can be going on here. 1.) it ain't a great lens, so not all areas of the picture are going to be razor sharp. I see a good degree of softness in the corners.
2.) I have noticed the camera's default behavior is to use lower ISO, and longer shutter speeds in less than ideal light, making camera movement a major factor in blurry photos. If you're gonna test under less than ideal light, rig up some kind of tripod.
3.) Auto-focus algorithms decide focus based on maximum contrast. If the area of your focus reticle is over an area that has poor contrast, focus will be compromised. Low light also lowers contrast.
4.) Depth of field. It is limited with this lens. Make sure areas you are checking for focus are on/near the same plane with shots that have reasonable distance separating foreground/background objects. They all can't be in focus.
With all that said, reasonable photography skills can get pretty reasonable results from this camera, as is exhibited in the photos posted in the photo thread of the "general" forum.
It does focus, but has a small delay tho..

So I recently purchased the G2 from Verizon and a few things to note about the new GRam and updated camera with OIS. Maybe it's supposed to stutter/lag in this setting but when I play The Simpsons: Tapped Out, I see a noticeable lag when swiping across my screen in certain areas. It slows down noticeably as if it's struggling to process the graphics. I'll have to try it with more games but that's my 1st impression unfortunately.
For the camera, it seems that any sky or even upward shots with the sun just even slightly in the FOV destroys the picture. The white overtakes the picture and everything seems overexposed. If this is normal for a smartphone camera then no complaints. But just even taking a picture out my window without the sun seems washed out and I can barely make out the trees. The 1080p/60fps recording seems to suffer the same problems as the camera when indoors. The ceiling lights wash out everything and it doesn't even resemble anything close to 1080p. Maybe I have a defective unit?
If anyone else is experience this or I'm over estimating the phone's capabilities, please let me know so I can be content. Thanks in advance.
I find the camera takes darker pictures, especially in low light, compared to Note 5 (underexposed perhaps? Not a photography buff at all . Also, the snapping pictures in general seems to be slower vs. Note 5.
Any suggestions?
I currently have both 6p and Note 5 and truly find the Note 5 to have an all-around better camera. 6p but bad by any means, but tough comparing to Note 5.

6p seems like it's a tad darker around the edges, but for the most part is a better match to what the eye sees.
Hdr+ balances everything out, and should be used whenever possible - like always.
It works wonders. This coming from an amateur photographer, well, I have been paid for my work, but I still consider myself an amateur - even after 35+ years of playing with cameras.

Agree with your assessment. Note 5 can tend to overexpose slightly in low light but overall I find Note 5 pics to be a bit clearer in low light. Even with hdr auto on both. Also agree the 6p tends to be darker around the edges. Biggest concern I have with 6p is length of time to focus/snap picture. Seems far longer than Note 5...

Only been playing with the new 6p for a couple days, but so far it seems pretty instantaneous.
Point, click, there's a picture - and in focus.
Been very very happy with the camera so far.
With HDR off the shutter is crazy fast, pretty much instantaneous. I keep auto HDR on because the HDR on this phone creates truly amazing results. If your phone is shooting HDR there is a little bit of a lag when taking a photo but not terrible. I'll take the slight lag of the HDR because the increased image quality far outweighs it.
As for underexposing images, I don't think there is any issue there. Keep in mind that the screen on the 6p is calibrated very differently than most devises. I notice images look underexposed on my phone's screen but on a computer screen or another device they look fine. I have adaptive display on so it is dimming the screen making the image look darker than it really is.
Look at the histogram of the photos if you want to see the dynamic range and the actual exposure info. In low light my 6p is very good figuring out the exposure. The histogram is obviously on the darker side if I take a photo in low light but there isn't any clipping at all under reasonable low-light. In extreme situations, like a photo in the middle of the night with only one light source, then the shadows clip but they would with any camera. What is really impressive is the lack of noise!! Usually when you have full black on a cell phone pic you get a ton of noise but the 6p is pretty good at just letting it go black rather than trying to overexpose.
The dynamic range with the HDR on is really impressive. Even extreme contrast like indoor photos with a bright window in the background won't clip in the highlights.
I am having a blast testing the limits of this camera.

Can you please explain to me the slowest shutter time of the nexus 6p with a third party app? Currently I have a Oneplus 2 and I can get up to 30 seconds which is a lot. My Oneplus 1 even had 60 seconds. Can I have these values with the nexus 6p or through a mod?

Hello, I think my S7 Edge camera has a serious HDR issue especially in the front camera. Whenever there's a little light coming from behind (while taking a selfie), the camera just turns black and I can't even see my face even during the day. The same issue is with the primary camera. I was lying down on the couch with my iPad reading my research work on my lap, I wanted to take a snap of the ceiling as I was laying down, so I opened up the camera and the ipad screen happened to peek in a little bit(the brightness was a bit high on the iPad) and the camera again turned completely black, so even in a well lit room it was like all the lights were dimmed completely. I have attached the photos of the same.
First photo is the issue I am talking about. And the second photo is of the actual room without the ipad screen.
Please help me out here. Is there some app or tweak that will force the camera not to do this? See I love this phone a lot and been holding on to it since it's release and I don't wanna switch phones just because of the camera but I am really frustrated with this issue.
