Why the hell i can't take the sound of the shutter ? Oo
Depends on your country. Some like Australia it's illegal to remove it apparently
I put the phone in silent mode if i don't want the shutter sound when taking photos
I think its impossible to remove unless you are rooted
use bixby routines and make a routine to go to dnd mode while activating camera.

hi, there.. it is normally to have an option to turned the shutter sounds off in Daimond, but my Daimond there are no options available in advanced setting to turn off the sound, this is possible that my is the original Telstra's ROM ?
after i do a research in this website it seems to me that i couldn't find the solution to myself.. therefore it would be greatful for you guys to suggest me a solution to improve my little computerize skill, ThX
PS. I'm new so i do apologize if i interrupting you with a silly question ,
put the phone one silent or vibrate and it won't make anymore that camera sound
Shutter sound...
Have you checked all the settings in advanced? This may seem a silly question, but there are 5 pages of settings in the stock ROM's. On my device...
Advanced Settings, Page 2/5, 3rd option from the top. I've never had a phone yet (with a camera), where the shutter sound can't be turned off. May be your device is unique in that respect! If so, follow darko07's advice above
it is still a sound occur to me, although the device has turned off all sounds..
and more joke to me there are just only 4 pages in Advanced Settings.. that's why i couldn't find that action..
do you think it is about the Tweak things that might be deleted that ?
bumping the issue..
I have the same problem - cannot turn off the sound of the shutter. have tried looking at advanced settings, having the phone on silent, etc etc... still not solution.
any ideas out there? thanks
Actually I'm pretty sure canadian law doesnt allow phone's camera shutter to be turned off because of a few perverts. I heard of the law passing about a year ago, you might want to ask telstra about this.
Aye, we're thinking of a law over here in the UK but it's certainly been around for a while in some places.

I have a Canadian Diamond and mine has the option to turn off the shutter sound.
In the Advanced Settings on the 2nd page it has Shutter Sound On/Off
have a look here guys, few posts down http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=500777&page=2
Does anyone know if there's a way to disable the camera shutter sound? I was unable to find it in the camera app settings (thank god, since that means it wouldn't save anyway...), and I didn't see it by going through Settings>Camera. Anyone have any luck trying to turn this sound off?
I don't think it's possible right now and may never be officially since there are laws in many countries that mandate audible clicks while taking pictures. Once hacked, there may be a possibility.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's looking for a solution. It's very loud and disruptive when I'm trying to catch my dogs playing or sneak a pic of my wife doing something silly. I really hope somebody finds a solution for this soon.
Hello, i just bought my focus yesterday and just found out if you lower the volume all the way to zero it doesnt have a shutter sound. Hope that helps, its not a good solution but something.

OK so i was intrigued that people got to do it but i couldn't........so i restarted the phone and I was able to do it dont know why sometimes it makes the sound and why some times it dosent.........microsoft has problems with sound for a wile....so maybe they will fix this soon.....I will keep testing to see what program makes it go erratic
this worked for me
Hey everybody, I've been trying to get around the issue for a while myself and found this: karnicki.eu/?p=10 for the omnia7. It did the trick for me and whenever I set the phone to silent the shutter stays in STFU mode! I fiddled with the sound settings before but it might be something magical about the 1000/-1000 combo. Please test and confirm.
Pause song, turn volume all the way down
Simple "Fix" is to start a song in zune, then to pause said song and to also turn down the volume to zero (0). This keeps the shutter from playing but only as long as you have a paused song in zune.
once there is a file manager hack for the phone, you should be able to just delete the sound file for that one specific sound. Thats what i did on my iphone along w/ the stupid SMS sent sound.
Put the volume all the way down to Zero, turn it off, turn it on, then it should be gone. It worked for me
Is it possible to eliminate the sound of the camera shutter?
Thank you!
it's an anti-perv feature...usually samsung and lg phones have them and can't be silenced unless you hack it

Lol thats wicked. Ma phone has an anti-perv feature classic.
So what does this mean ?
1. I have to take the phone back to the shop
2. The camara won't work for me
3. Use it illegally
Can't you just cough when taking the upskirts now ?
On the other note. I don't mind the sound myself, First time i noticed it tbh when i read this post. Can't mute my DSLR shutter..., And i'm pretty sure thats a camera... So game on...

I think not. I do not know samsung. I've always had htc. But in this moment, Omnia7 is the best device winmo7.
I'm looking into it now or you lol. Soon as i find a way into the phone directory, sure you can just change the file to a silent file. or change the shutter level in an INI file somewhere... Optimistic
The hardware buttom is good!
Is that just me or is he falling with a Samsung but it's an LG at the end :S

But the hardware is the same!
The hardware for all WP7 is the same, they all had to meet certain requirements and i'm betting none of them "over or exceeded them" by much
Now... how to read this... nand...
I just muted the sound and viola the shutter noise is gone....
Seems it's a simple fix.

mute the sound as in put in into vibrate mode/turn sound all the way down?
you really think people haven't tried that?! unless you have another way of muting the omnia 7?
maybe it is carrier specific whether they allow you to disable the shutter sound or not.. if yours realy does mute then im jealous! wish i was able to use te camera without everyone in a 10m radius giving me funny looks
I can report the same.
I just have to make the volume to 0 and then I don't have the shutter sound.

my omnia 7 doesn't care if im on full volume, half volume or mute. shutter sound is always full volume.
im in the uk on t-mobile. maybe its to do with carrier/country
Well it works for me and 001mic,
i'm UK with t-mobile, so that doesn't make sense
As you can tell from my < thingy there...
UK ,T-Mobile .Reducing volume has no effect on camera shutter sound for me.
Hello,
I am a new user of Galaxy S4 with Android 4.4.2 (first time Android user) and the device is NOT rooted. How can I disable the camera shutter sound?
Thanks.

You will have to be rooted. Once rooted, there are many methods:
The best method would probably not be the quickest or worth it if you just want to disable a shutter sound. Look up how to root. Once rooted, look up what Xposed is and install that. Then install Wanam for your device and then one of the settings allows you to disable the shutter sound.
Alternative methods include deleting the camera shutter sound or installing a modded camera app that doesn't have a shutter sound. All methods do require root.
If you're not ready for the rooting business, just cover up the speaker with a finger and that can make a huge impact on the volume. It's especially easier if you have a case.
Or u can just put ur phone on silent then take ur photo, after finished just switch silent mode off

It doesn't work in some countries as it would allow people to take creep shots. Such as in Japan and South Korea. In fact the laws go as far as to say that the shutter sound must be at least 64 decibels.
Any option to turn of stock camera capture sound? Tried keeping all the volume levels to zero. Still you can hear the capture sound
T-mobile works. I don't think it works on Verizon.

Unfortunately, I believe the only solution is to root your phone. From there, you'd be able to modify system camera files to permanently disable any and all camera shutter noise.
There are several threads on this topic.
Apparently it's illegal in Japan to have it off due to privacy issues so they never changed it for the rest of the world. Drives me mad too.
