hey, can any brilliant developer create a super stable video for gcam like on stock camera app? i really liked that but its not possible with a custom rom or maybe there is, so can anyone do it?

Go to the Google camera ports web page and try these 3:
Xcam 6.2 beta (which version depends on your Android version) - has all features basically
Urnyx 7.2 v1.4 - same as above however it is Google cam 7 (unfortunately cannot use xmls to configure settings)
Parrot 7 V12 - unlike the 2 above, does not allow for switching to ultrawide or telephoto, however is a great cam with xmls, lots of config options in settings and is also Google cam 7
the video is not at all stable compared to stock camera

What mod are you using? Gcam has lots of mods and tweaks, I'm using Gcam 7.2 by Parrot mod and don't face any issues.
Neither version of Gcam has video stabilization like stock cam...period!
I agree at some point but to compare stock Mi9t camera 1080p/30fps/h265 vs Gcam 7.2 1080p/30fps/h265 the quality is much better on Gcam when you're walking or hiking fast the video stabilization is not that much progressive or smoother on stock camera I'd say max 5% or 10% more accurate and it's hardly noticeable but the quality drops during the video I can clearly see the image distortion and noise.
In addition Gcam is much more configurable and better quality because it is being developed constantly and Xiaomi stock camera software is not something to judge or the company is aimed for but rather quality and production of smartphones and various equipment.

MIUI camera delivers exceptionally amazing selfies.
I have tested Open Camera on MIUI and the selfie quality went bad, selfies became dull as same as they are in Lineage cameras.
This means the App is the key to better selfies.

I've seen this happen on every Xiaomi phone I've owned. On all of them there's a thread of people really wanting a port of the MIUI camera, but on none of them is it possible. The MIUI camera is part of the MIUI framework and won't work without it. So unless someone makes a Magisk module of the MIUI framework that plays nicely with AOSP and ports the camera it won't be possible

I just found this MIUI5 port that works on Marshmallow (I don't know if works in Nougat): (Sharing)(APP) MIUICamera App
Maybe this could help to find a way to port the newer versions.

Not useful, people who used it are saying it's working as a normal camera app only.
And I tried, not working in my phone.

I think that is just the app, it doesn't include the low level firmware optimisations. It doesn't work on the MI5,and it's based on MIUI5 which is 4years old. The fact that we haven't made progress post that is testiment to how difficult it is to port the camera firmware. Atm the only solution is dual bootiing, and using a MIUI based ROM if you go out to take pictures (like on a holiday). It's ****ty, but it's what we're stuck with. Google Camera works OK on Lineage for quick snaps anyway.
Wait for next update of the snap camera. I am sure it will rock
I have realized that MIUI has really developed its camera app over the time, even if some other camera app are launched. They will not catchup with this app. Hence if we have a scope to use this existing piece of work we must port it rather than focusing on other means.
I just hope some developer has seen this thread and considering to take on this project.
will a camera port be ever available?
I really like the MIUI camera because the focus peaking option, who else ?
guys I have talked to developers, they are saying that it's not possible to port this camera.
And if it was possible, someone in XDA community would have already ported it like these is Google camera.
So if you want great photos, be on MIUI.
Guys, Sad news is Developers have denied to make any such port.
They say MIUI camera has something to do with Miui framework also this camera is Closed Source.
Sadly in summary If you want to use your phone for camera stay on MIUI only.

Hi,
I'm opening this thread to discuss the several camera options there are available, so that all are informed by the options available.
There is OOS camera with HD and HDR.
There Paranoid camera which claims to be even better than stock OOS
Sultan camera, which sultanxda put a lot of effort improving the camera
GCam port that has HDR+
Share your experience with each, saying which camera you like best. If possible, detail the best camera that:
- provides the most accurate color
- provides the best motion/action picture
- provides the best low light condition
Share your photos indicating the camera app was used.
I personally use gcam to do most of my shooting. It provides the best dynamic range and image "crispness". I also enjoy how quick it shoots too.
The only time I'll switch from it is to shoot raw and manual on the Stock OOS camera.
When I'm shooting video (1080p 60fps) I usually use the OOS camera just because 60fps in gcam stutters for me on occasion.

I'm very curious about PA. Can you share some pics?
I have used paranoid android 7.3 and I have realised that OOS camera is the best in low lighting as PA camera also does well in good lighting condition.
Paranoid camera app is very good. 60 fps on 1080p works very good. It is snappy too. OOS camera on latest beta not that snappy.

What do you think about low light photos in PA? And motion pictures? Can you share some pics?
I have used the OOS camers on OB17 / OB16 / OB15
I have also used the Google camera app.
In my opinion the OOS camera app is better at low-light shooting plus regular shooting is pretty good. I have not tried the latest ported version of the OP5 OOS camera app but I am curious, so will probably try at some point.
I have not used PA. The Sultanxda camera app has a boatload of options which in my opinion is overkill for a regular user like me.

I hasn't used paranoid ever, can't help in this regard, i myself curious about paranoid
Thats my usage:
Low light: Google cam with HDR+
Daylight in raw: OOS
Daylight jpg: Google cam with HDR+
Video: OOS
Personally I'm using Google Camera for quick shots at college, but at parties or something, I'm shooting RAWs with Snap Camera HDR - because it limits max ISO to 799, where OOS can go up to 3200 (and leave you with very much noise).
For videos I'm using OOS camera - recording 1080p60.
Daytime: Stock OOS Cam
Nighttime: Google Cam HDR+ :good:
Is there a version of the updated PA camera from 7.3.1? for me PA Cam so far gave the best results regarding image detail, since it doesnt use noise reduction, or it can at least be setup so.

Just compare the file sizes of those two camera apps, the details in OOS cam get a disgusting watercolor effect.
the ones from PA cam look nice and are like 10mb bigger than OOS camera ones.

The new PA update should improve the camera app. It is possible to compare with that version? Specially in low light and motion/action shots? I like OOS camera, but in low light and motion/action shots... Could be better. I'm curious about PA in these scenarios

Yeah, I understand completely
Oneplus Camera App from Oneplus 6T.
Disclaimer - I'm just merely sharing. APKs I post mostly I extract from OOS roms of Oneplus Devices. I have nothing to do with the updates and development of the apks.
Latest (v3.016) - Check Post #3 for links.
**Please do read Post #3 fully before asking any questions**
Anyone knows how to enable promode? there's promode on the oneplus 5
Oneplus Camera (3.0.16) -
Camera [from OP6T OB4] - https://goo.gl/JK4Rg1 (3.0.16)
Noted Changes - APKs from latest Beta of OP6T.
Regarding HDR :-
Guys, I tested almost all the old apks to find ones that have hdr working and post'em here. But it seems like this isn't an apk issue. Because all the old apks I tried had the same hdr always off issue. I think this has to do with our Roms. (I use AEX5.5 and have been on AEX from nougat days.)
I even tried editing the camera apk to find if it calls any specific package for hdr function that i can import from OOS dumps. Doesn't seems so.
If anyone using last builds of nougat roms or very early builds of Oreo, please try the latest apks and let us know if hdr works.
Common Note :-
I don't develop this app, just sharing with you guys. So I can help you with only basic solutions and cannot do app level corrections.
Since this camera app is developed with only the oneplus devices in mind, many features might not work on other devices. Some of these features that work on 5T don't even work on 3T. No one can help it. All we can do is wish for an update to solve the issues. I too am wondering why the HDR mode suddenly vanished in the latest versions but maybe updates will solve it.
There will be limitations in Pro mode like shutter speed not changing beyond a point and all. This is due to the fact that our device has no Level_3 hardware support of Camera2Api. And also there are physical limitations due to our Camera sensor being a less capable one than oneplus 3/3t 5/5t cameras. So don't expect a solution to such limitations in updates.
I don't use OP gallery app. Don't ask me any questions regarding that app. If asked, the only solution I can give is, better move to Quickpic app.
My actual main camera app (for now) is Gcam Mod by arnova. I use OP camera rarely for the Pro mode & Video.
Any other working apps from Oxygen OS you guys would like me to post here along with the camera app please let me know. I download the whole roms for just 2 apks and then delete the roms. I have no trouble posting a couple more apks alongside the camera and gallery. Again, i can only extract and share the apps, cannot make them work with our device.
Cheerios :good:

Resolution is adjusted when you change the Aspect Ratio on top. Jpeg Quality is default and I guess at 85%. That is not changeable. Oneplus Camera app doesn't have the most controls but is the best HDR (fast but good) and also the most stable amongst all other phones's camera app i tested. Also if you switch to AEX5.0 you get the Pro mode from OP3/3T/5/5T working on our phone. If you want maximum controls try Snapcamera.

I like the additional HDR modes (live and pro) as well as the dynamic pictures (aka live photos, I missed them since I had to forsake my Windows Mobile Lumia 950XL). Also, when comparing (pixel peeping) photos I prefer the ones coming out of the xiaomi.eu ROM's camera app. I think they just may have adjusted the JPG compression rate, but IMHO the xiaomi.eu ROM's camera produces pictures with more details, I've also compared them with pictures shot on a Mi 9 running the latest official global stable.

I would love to get a non magisk camera for custom ROMs that can use all the lenses.
As far as I've seen, nothing on the play store can do it. There doesn't seem to be a standard even though practically all phones are adding multiple lenses.
Just wondering if there is a version of gcam that can be installed? And where do you check for development and updates these days? Had a Pixel for so long I've no idea where to go!!
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
considering the fact that the 8 Pro is one of the two phones in the world that uses the IMX 689 sensor, it'll take some time for developers to make a proper port for this phone.
Any luck?

I really hope we will see a stable version of GCam working with all Oneplus 8 Pro cameras.
I personally think there is a lot of potential in that IMX 689 sensor.
I am still thinking there should be some real use of this strange photochrom camera as well.
And may be a nice manual PRO VIDEO mode as well :fingers-crossed:
Most probably I will get the Filmic Pro anyway soon.
I only just installed GCam yesterday after reading this thread .. lol.
So far played with the different modes (not lenses/cameras) but the night mode seems really good. The downside (if I can call it that), is that it appears that Gcams ability to take HDR photos vs stock app's ability, Gcam's takes much longer to process before storing? Like as you take the shot, there is noticeable processing time, vs. the stock app which seems to effectively point-shoot-store fairly quickly.

GCam has a different algorithm which processes many frames. In Pixel devices, there is a dedicated chip (pixel visual core) which performs the necessary computations. In other devices, it is the main processor that has to do all the job
I played around with the GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v1.8, which delivers nice results. but I noticed that the maximum resolution is 4000x3000. the stock camera goes up to 8000x6000. is there a way to activate the full resolution? in the settings it is already set to full resolution.
other than that, can anyone recommend any of the configs for this gcam? https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/configs-urnyx-02/
How does the night mode compare to the pixel 4? I imagine it would be better because of the larger sensor
