can't install from unknown sources after mui11 update. - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

9TPro can't install from unknown sources after mui11 update. Worked ok on mui10 install gcam app and pixel launcher. But can install .APK on mui11. (Android 10). When try to install I get a pop up with word "error"
Unknown sources is enabled, only change was installing update 11.0.1.0 (QFKMIXM)
Solved, used another file manager, that showed install from unknow setting screen that had it turned off, once I enabled it it allowed to install.

Install Permissions Gray On Oreo Beta

I updated my S8 to Oreo and I love it, however apps like Advance Download Manager or Amazon when trying to install apps it request that I allow install from unknown sources, it prompts the toggle but it's grey and will not let me switch it on.
Any way to force allow this? There is no longer an option to allow unknown installs in settings.
I have the same problem only a few apps show as accessible. But the ones I want to change are greyed out. Any resolution?
Go to Settings-Apps- click on the 3 dots menu-> special access-> Install unknown apps. Guess this should work

Play store or Aptoide on iiyama Android TV (iiware 8.0)

Hi!
I have a iiyama te6503mis-b1ag and was playing around with it. It has android so you can install apps, but you either have to download an apk from the browser and install it from the finder or install it from a USB stick using the finder.
I tried using Aptoide but when I try to install an APK it says "unknown apps can't be installed by this user" although both the system and the app itself have permission to install unknown apps. It has this issue too for installing APKs from within other apps. I can just install APKs from within the build in finder.
I also tried installing both play services and play store, but when I open the play store it immediately crashes.
Does anyone know how I can get either Aptoide or the play store working?

No that doesn't work. As I said: both the system and the app itself have permission to install unknown apps.

Download kingo root https://root-apk.kingoapp.com/kingoroot-download.htm
install it, open it connect wired/wireless mouse, press get root, wait for it to get root, if it is stuck at 90%, press back and an error will appear, ignore it, close the app, delete kingo root from settings app section. turn off and turn on again, then you will have root, then try to install any app form aptoide, it will say root is detected, would you like to use root to install apps? click yes and wait for the app be installed.
I had the same problem, i bought an iiyama 55" touchscreen with iiware 9.0
The solution is very simple and works:
- Activate developer mode in the settings (tap on build number several times)
- Enable USB debugging
- Download and unpack adb platform-tools
- Move desired .apks to platform-tools folder
- Connect to adb via WiFi or LAN connection
Example: adb connect 192.168.1.1
Install the app using the following command:
adb install kodi.apk

Unable to Install APKs (Package Invalid)

I recently upgraded to the latest build of Oxygen OS (IN2025_11_F.13) after procrastinating.
I am trying to install quick glance so that I can disable the discover page on my homescreen.
No matter what APK version I try, it gives me an error stating the package appears to be invalid.
The same thing happens when trying to install the older version of oneplus weather with the (in my opinion) better widget and animations.
This also applies to any APK I have tried installing.
Is there any way to install these apps?
Or are there other ways to restore the old version of weather and disable discover?
My device is rooted with Magisk FYI.
Thanks.

Allow APK install unknown source

Hi
Ive previously been able to download and instal apk's and use them successfully on my Sony Bravia 4k LED TV.
I had to uninstall an app and when I tried to reinstall, despite having the unknown sources switch turned on for both file manager apps that I usually use and verify apps switch turned off, I get the 'app not installed' error.
Also when trying to use the Send files to TV app, it always fails with 'software caused abort' error on TV and remote 'connection reset by peer' error on the phone.
Has Sony somehow stopped APK installation from working. ?
Android 9
Sony update July 2021 ( says up to date in settings)
Pixel 7 phone, Android 13
Try sideloading a different/new app to see if it installs ok.
