runing 2.2.1 rooted by dannejo
You do know that posting paid apps is not allowed. You're lucky no one barely mods our section.
Anyway gallery must be pushed to system/app.
The rest should install fine. Try a different file manager.
Make sure under settings>>applications
that unknown sources is ticked
Getting this error when trying to run an apk app that I did not get from the market. How do I remove this system block? Running rooted stock 3.1 (8.4.4.5).
Thanks.
Enable Applications ---> Unknown sources
Hi,
I can't seem to install Google's new uploaded camera. It seems many people have this problem as well (at least in the Nexus 4 section which is my device as well).
The error I got was "package file was not signed correctly...". That was when I had the photosphere camera so I deleted it's .apk and .sh files. After that I got the error "application already exists". Deleting the AOSP camera doesn't seem to help as well.
Any suggestions?
P.S this seems to be a custom rom problem, for example Slimkat users had this problem as well and the developers had to release some fix for it.
flashing the PA new google camera addon module, does not permit to upgrade / install the google camera from play store, it says that is not possible because of a wrong signature, then if i remove with root file explorer from /system/app and i try to install from market it says that application is already present, do someone know how to solve that? i'm on OmniROM
Solved...
Install apk from here:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/04/16/breaking-google-releases-stock-camera-app-to-the-play-store/
Worked for me without having to delete anything.
yes but the apk let you install mat it's not connected to google play store so if any upgrade exit you won't be able to installa automatically
Yep that is a problem... But you can just install the new apk again when it's updated that's all.
Is the still no solution for the problem? I'm experiencing it as well on my Nexus 4 running PA 4.4 rom
Use modular gapps
I am having zuk z2 plus and I recently installed a custom ROM (pixel experience 8.1.0). On first istallion the Google moded camera seams to be working fine but after a factory reset ,I again tried to install but the camera is not installing (" app not installed").so please help me out
Just got my Gold nexus 6p yesterday and i cant install apks that are not from the play store and even if i try to send them via bluetooth it doesn't work. i'm bootloader unlocked, twrp installed, rooted (systemless root) and decrypted and also "unknown sources" is turned on in settings. i'm stumped and need help. i cant install some app cos of this. please help me
You can't install or you can't download them?
To transfer an .apk via BT rename to .jpg. Do the transfer and name it back to .apk on both devices.
Am facing the same issue
I have enabled 'unknown sources' in settings, but still no way of installing external apks. Throws an error 'Cant open file'.
I read somewhere about Lux causing this to happen, but am unsure of what to disable.
PLEASE HELP! ? !

9TPro can't install from unknown sources after mui11 update. Worked ok on mui10 install gcam app and pixel launcher. But can install .APK on mui11. (Android 10). When try to install I get a pop up with word "error"
Unknown sources is enabled, only change was installing update 11.0.1.0 (QFKMIXM)
Solved, used another file manager, that showed install from unknow setting screen that had it turned off, once I enabled it it allowed to install.
