Drivers for VS995 Nougat on Win7 PC - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I have installed latest drivers and done everything I can to get these two (VS995 and Win7) to cooperate together.
Everytime PC says drivers installed successfully, I unplug and replug phone only for PC to try and install the MTP drivers again, as if it never happened. I am not sure if this is a Nougat issue with this phone, but my wife's Oreo VS995 and NO issues with this.
My main reason for wanting to get MTP drivers to work is to use LG Bridge to update the phone to Oreo normally. The phone runs through a prepaid provider, so Verizon's update won't do it.
How do I get these stupid drivers to work right, or is my phone just being a PITA??

Cant connect to laptop?

Trying to connect my LG G2 to my Acer Aspire V laptop and I cant get anything out of it. I've installed the drivers from LG's website, I've tried installing LG pc suite(works via wifi. The phone thinks its connected via usb but the software doesn't see it). I've also tried manually selecting various LG drivers and it still won't come up. My laptop is windows 8. On my windows 7 desktop the first time I plugged it in it came up like a usb drive and connected perfectly to LG Suite.
Any suggestions? I am with bell.

Other than trying to completely deinstall all drivers, software, and then installing PC Suite again, I don't think there is a lot you can do.
Does Windows give any sort of notification about Device problems, or failing to install drivers?

MTP Mode not working

Hey,
So I got my D802 today and I want to do the whole Root, Recovery, ROM shenanigans.
But for the love of god I cant connect the phone in MTP mode, so I cant Root, nor install a recovery.
I cant connect to the LG PC Suite either.
Any Ideas?
what connection type are u choosing after plugging it into the computer? are u running Windows, Mac, Linux? Windows will work with mtp out of the box but I think Mac and Linux need phone drivers installed. Windows will need drivers when you're ready to "unlock" using adb.

Right, so I´m running Win7 64 Bit
I tried multiple USB Ports, rebooting PC and Phone, resetting Phone and now i´m all out of ideas
I never had any problems with the other phones I rooted and unlocked on this Computer

when you first plug in your phone it gives you the option to install the drivers needed to connect in the different modes, if not on the top right corner of the menu with charge/mtp/pc software it should have the option to install the drivers

you never said what connection type you're choosing on the phone after plugging it in. there are a few options and change how the phone is seen by Windows. some options won't have it display as an mtp device or as a drive letter in my computer.

Really Weird
I'm having the same issue. I'm running OptimusG3 v1.3, I've never had an issue with it before, I used MTP to transfer files yesterday, worked flawlessy, now it won't. I was trying to map the G2 as a network drive, I installed LGPCSuite, a couple of other software that should be inconsequential, and suddenly my phone says connected as MTP, but my laptop won't recognize or show the device in My Computer. I get installing device drivers prompts, I used the hardware and devices troubleshooter which told me 'LGE Android MTP Device has a driver problem' and LGE Mobile USB Modem has a driver problem. Reinstall device driver -> completed, but still not fixed. I installed LG's universal uSB tool or whatever, no fix. I have no idea wth is up (It's not a USB debugging accidental toggle either). I'll try uninstalling PCSuite. I though it would be more useful

Win 8.1 won't see GS4

I was using Windows 8.1 Pro for a few weeks it recognized my GS4 (gt-i9505) just fine. Yesterday my wife plugged HER GS4 into my laptop and after that it no longer recognizes MY GS4. I went to device manager and SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device has an exclamation point on it. I've installed the latest version of Kies (which is supposed to install the latest usb drivers) but to no avail. I've tried installing some other usb drivers I've found here but as soon as I install any drivers and plug my phone in then Windows comes in automatically and installs it's own drivers.
- Where can I download the correct usb drivers for Win 8.1 Pro?
- How can I stop Win 8.1 from updating THIS particular driver automatically whenever I plug on my phone?

Phone won't connect to PC after Unlocking via NRT

Hello,
today I tried to root my phone with Nexus Root Toolkit. The first step was to unlock the phone so I could root it. After I unlocked it I can't get the phone to connect to the PC. I've tried uninstalling the drivers(with USBDeview also), restarting the computer, different cables, different ports, USB debugging on/off, MPT/Camera, restoring to factory settings. Nothing works. The only time the phone registers in the Device Manager is when I put MPT with USB debugging, and I get an exclamation mark next the Nexus 4 device. Trying to update the drivers results in no drivers found. Downloading the drivers manually doesn't work either. What I find especially troubling is that when I connect the phone without USB debugging the phone doesn't even react to the connection. There is nothing in the status bar. The phone is charging tho.
edit: I've now tried 2 different computers (running Win 8.1, and 7), and it's the same problem, so I'm pretty sure the phone is the problem. Is there anything I can do from here?
Since I can't connect to the PC is there a way I can do something 'OTA' to fix it? Will I be eligible to update to 5.0 OTA since my phone is unlocked(stock ROM tho)?
edit2: I've now locked the bootloader, but the issue persists.
edit3: Uninstalled NRT, and the drivers it provides, and installed Google USB Drivers over the SDK Manager. I now have two devices: one Nexus 4, one Unknown Device, both with exclamation marks next to them. I think this double entry could be due to some remaining driver somewhere. Gonna try to remove every Nexus driver I can find, and then try with Google USB Drivers again. Fingers crossed.
edit4: Tried naked drivers. No luck...
Appreciate the input!

[Q] LG G2 not recognized by WIndows after backup

Hello!
My LG G2 (D802, stock, unrooted, Android 4) never showed an OTA update to Android 5 - that's why I tried to find the update through LG PC Suite. Installed the software, connected my smartphone (the drivers installed OK and it was recognized rather fast), and it really showed that I could update to the next firmware version (Android 5). But I decided to make a backup first (also through LG PC Suite). At first, everything was OK, but after a while the backup program told me that the phone disconnected unexpectedly and asked to reconnect it. I did, but it was not recognized by computer (was only charging, "slow charging", to be precise). I restarted my PC, my phone - still no luck. I reinstalled the drivers and followed all the common advice found on forums, but still my phone was only charging from PC (choosing any connection option in its menu or checking USB debugging did nothing). I also tried to connect it to another PC (Win8 - the 1st one was Win7) - also only charging without even trying to install the drivers. That's why it seems to me, that the problem is on the smartphone side. But what could happen during the backup process? The phone is still charging - so mUSB port isn't "burnt" or something... What can I do to fix this? Please, help!
