Most of the people probably don't know, but there is an option to allow bootloader unlocking in Vivo Z1 pro. It's in the developer settings, and it's called "OEM unlocking" which says "Allow the bootloader to be unlocked". I think this is what you need. Hopefully people will start making custom roms for Vivo Z1 Pro now.

Hello,
I have xperia tablet z LTE version bought from EE UK. In service menu is shows that the bootloader cannot be unlocked. If i get my tablet unlocked from carrier will it allow to unlock my bootloader? if no then how do I get my bootloader unlocked. I want to install custom roms. Please help me.
Wrong forum mate.
I contacted the sony dev network to get a bootloader unlock for the VZW Z2 Tablet (SGP561).
I have not been able to unlock it yet, I have my unlock key and tried the official and the flashboot methods to no avail. Can someone guide me in the right direction for the unofficial method?
I tried the search mentioned but keep getting the same two results, official and flashboot.
Here is the response from dev world support:
Thanks for your email. Xperia Z2 Tablet is confirmed as a supported device for Unlock bootloader. Unfortunately, if you receive the message on the device that it is not allowed, this is due to operator restrictions. In this case, the operator Verizon, has not allowed for unlocking the bootloader on this device. There is no official Sony solution to unlock the bootloader for the Verizon Xperia Z2 Tablet, but there are other ways to get around this. Just do a search for “unlock bootloader Verizon tablet Z2” for alternate options, and please note that unlocking the bootloader may void your warranty.
Best regards,

Would like to see this accomplished.

Hi.
I had a bootloader unlock allowed: no Xperia Z5. From my experience you cannot unlock it at all, for love nor money.
Did you happen to buy it from Sony directly or buy it from a carrier (Vodafone, 3, EE etc)? As if you bought it from a carrier then it is impossible to unlock it's bootloader. If you bought it from Sony then you need to change bootloader unlock allowed to yes in the developer menu in settings.
Hope this helps

Hi.
Open settings, scroll down and press system, press about phone, scroll down to build number and press it repeatedly until it says you've unlocked the developer menu, go back to the last menu, press advanced, then press developer options. Around the top quarter of the list there should be OEM bootloader unlocking.
Best of luck
