I think bluetooth spends too much battery (it keeps forever searching a connection), so i need to disable it.
I think i need to modify and update the wristband firmware, adding an option to turn off bluetooth, by pressing the wristband button.
Any tips?

hi all
does anybody know why bluetooth turns itself off every now and then?
the bt-symbol in the lower right corner is ON (so no red line going thru it), but no bt device can connect. so when i click on the bt icon i see that bt is turned off.
i have no idea what causes this behaviour. i see no relation between time having not used the device, or charge of battery and this behaviour.
can anyone enlighten me ???
thanks

I guess since nobody has a direct answer to your question yet, some points of clarification might be in order.
Which device do you have (XDA II, i-mate, etc.)?
Which ROM version is installed?
What additional software have you installed (Pocket BT Tools, PocketZenPhone, etc.)?
Does it do it even after a hard reset (before installing other software)?
As far as I can tell the bluetooth connection will time out after awhile if not bound to a headset or doing anything special.
I discovered this as I use bluetooth activesync to share the net connection with my pc, and if I leave it for 5 to 10 mins it will have turned itself off, but as you experienced, still appear to be on when judging from the bottom right hand symbol.
Greetings,
I have a HTC XV6800. Recently I got the GPS to work which is just freaking awesome. I have the HTC Comm Manager and I noticed that the GPS will not work without my bluetooth running. The question I have is, is it possible tomake a button in the Comm manager to turn the GPS on/off while remaining the Bluetooth on/off and visa versa? If you turn the GPS on it turns the bluetooth on since it needs to be used and when you turn it off it turns off the bluetooth. It would have to remember conditions. Is that possible?
Thanks,
mmmm I'm not sure I got your request right.
I think you have an internal gps right ? but you say it can't start without BT ? That's weird !!
Yeah isn't it? So like here are the conditions with Comm Manager added
Flight Mode - On/Off
Phone Mode - On/Off
WLAN - On/Off
Microsoft Direct Push - On/Off
Data Connection - On/Off
Ringer/Vibrate
Internet Sharing - On/Off
ActiveSynce - On/Off
Beam - On/Off
GPS - On/Off (Conditional see below)
Bluetooth - On/Off (Conditional see below)
1. On if turned on by user
2. On if GPS turned on
3. Off if turned off by user
4. Off it turned on by GPS
5. Can not be shut off by user if GPS was started by user.
Get it or is it still confusing?
Actually, it might be very very useful. I mean, considering an internal GPS usually works without any relation to BT... if there's a way to have a buttom to turn it on/off it can save battery... unless there's some kind of mechanism i'm not familiar with which already does that.

Click to collapse
Thanks for the support. Now I am not a coder or developer but would someone like to take this on? I think it should be pretty easy. I would imagine you would just have to disect the comm manager and localize the GPS.
just FYI, on other devices with internal gps I've seen, it's turned on/off automatically via the gps software, and there is no entry for GPS in the comm manager..
Hi guys!
I started GarminXT, wait for it to fix, start traveling ... and when I arrive at my destination I take the Touch HD out of my pocket and see it has recorded just the beggining... it switched off so I dont see the travel data. How can I make the device to not go to sleep while using GarminXT ?
GPS works also in suspended mode. Try something else than GarminXT
settings -> energy settings -> while battery using don't switch off the hd
^ but it will never switch off the HD...I have to do it manually.
I also have same problem.
I want this automatic thing...but it should not switch off while Garmin XT is on...
I think its the problem of Garmin XT.
then use previous version 5.010.
With the previous version also the same problem.
Does anybody find another solution as changing the energy settings as I suggested?
This is not a solution, but another workaround.
I usually set my PPC not to turn off after x minutes of inactivity if its plugged into the power source.
And I will leave the automatic turn off under the battery power.
Whenever its in my car and I use the navigation software, I just plug in the car charger. That way, it charges the PPC and the navigation software continues to work and the PPC will not go off.
Hi all. I have seen many bluetooth toggle solutions and many of them work great. But I am looking for a simple solution to turn BT on, not to toggle it. This is why. I use profiles in Inesoft Phone a lot. But their BT on and off do not work due to the TP2 not using the WM stack. So say I am switching from one profile where BT is on to another where BT should stay on. Toggle does me no good because it will sometimes turn BT off when I really wanted it to stay on. There is a native app on my Tilt 2 in \Windows called TurnBTOff.exe. But there is not one to turn it on. I must have 5 different BT toggles on my phone but nothing to turn on only.
Any ideas for a TurnBTOn app? I am hoping for the typical small footprint cab utility and not another install of an app that does 20 other things besides BT on. I have found some 'on only' cabs, but not for the widcomm stack we have.
try this out. i am downloading it right now myself. it looks like it creates an actual exe shortcut that you can assign to your softkeys or certain hardware buttons to turn BT on and off. i know you mentioned you only need it to turn ON but having both might be good too...
Thanks for the info. But it looks like all of those are toggles, not an "on-only" BT exe. So I don't think it will solve my issue posted above.
Great fix for CHT 1.8 Bluetooth Issue
Thanks for the link! Installed that simple program, and now the Bluetooth toggle switch on my Cookie Home Tab works great on my TP2/Tilt2.
Iv done some reading and am still a little confused as to if I can use something like Trigger or something like Trigger to turn off toggles etc. when my phone is removed from a NFC Tag. Currently I use Trigger to turn on BT and Turn off Wifi etc.. when I place my phone on a NFC tag when I get into my car and that works great. But when I get out of my car and remove my phone from said NFC Tag I would like to turn off BT etc.. Can this be done?
I have a Verizon Galaxy S5 running NE9.
Thanks,

It can be done but you'll have to set up another trigger to disable them. So one trigger is turning on BT/ off Wifi when you touch it the first time. The second trigger would be the opposite BT off/ wifi on but you can't just remove it from the NFC tag, you have to tap it again
Thanks for the idea. I found that I was over engineering the whole idea between Tasker and Trigger. After reading your reply I figured I would only use Trigger. I had to create 2 Tasks in Trigger. When I get into my car I put my phone into the phones car dock (which has a NFC Tag on it) . 1 triggers via NFC which turns on BT and connects to my Cars BT,disables wifi, enables Mobile Data and opens Waze or whatever navigation app I want. The other Task does the reverse when disconnecting from my Cars BT (aka getting out of my car and taking my phone with me). After various tests its about 99.99999% accurate. And I works with only 1 initial NFC tap.
Thanks again for the idea.
