Hi,
After the latest beta 3 update to Android 10, my phone is asking for a password or FP to shut off?????
It has never done this before, is there a setting for this, I have looked but see nothing on this,

This is a new feature introduced in beta 3 for security purposes. I quite like it actually. Prevents the phone being shutdown if stolen so one can use a device tracker or remotely wipe the device.
What if the battery is drained ?

A feature I see no use for at all. Looking for a way to shut it off. Why add crap that is always on and no way to disable???

2 new settings in Developer options are :
1. Trust agents only extend unlock
2. Lock screen when trust is lost
See if either one of these is selected.

Thanks, both are unchecked/off. I'll try one at a time on and see what happens.

anyone else have some really weird stuff happening with their screen? occasionally my entire display will shift to the right for a second or flash pretty colors then revert back to normal. it usually happens with screen transitions like opening an app that rotates to landscape or waking my phone to check the time. also in games where there is a pop-up asking to sign in to Google+ or download additional data the app in the background glitches out and becomes distorted
is this a known issue or do i need a new display?

It's a known issue and it's frequency is very variable but is usually in those scenarios you describe.
It was mentioned in the soak test discussion by many users as an existing bug that should have been addressed by the update but had not been fixed yet.
I don't see it myself very often but have a couple times, so I know it exists.
Doesn't help much sorry.
I see it in twrp all the time but never in cwmr. Booted up- not often.

On 2nd thought, the badness of twrp glitch must be a forboding to the delete ExtSD checkbox ever waiting to foil sleepy users.

never had the glitch in TWRP - only rarely on 4.1.1 and 4.1.2.... never on 4.2.2.
TWRP has been nothing short of solid for me.
My D802 Stock message app doesnt show the option to use it, and i have now received a mobile phone by sms.
Do you know how to enable it

Hi all, today I noticed Computrace Agent installed on my Galaxy s5 I have looked around online and some threads on here but no one has found a way to remove it.
There has to be a way right?
I also have a G3 on EE any chance that will be effected?

as far as i can tell computrace is insurance against it getting stolen from EE. thats how they lock it up and blacklist IMEIs
so anyone actually wantinbg to remove it isnt doing a good thing. also removing it is aiding theft of the device so im pretty sure mods will lock this up
I've just found this running on my s5
I use an EE sim but the phone was bought sim-free and unlocked so why is it on my phone?
I installed the polish lollipop ROM so I wondered if it came from that but it sounds like it's been around a while
If I uninstall it I get a Google popup message saying
"Allow Google to regularly check device activity for security problems and prevent our earn about potential harm"
If I chose decline, the app still reappears after a few seconds

In wondering now if the Samsung 'findmyphone' service (in security settings) uses conputrace.
If I go to find my phone and try and locate my phone, it seems to struggle/take longer if i uninstall computrace. When it auto reinstalls the find my phone can tell where it is.

It's a persistent anti-thieft solution made with samsung, it's supposed to be persistent

findmyphone from Samsung uses a different service (remote controls)
Hi guys
If can you give me some apps that can cast the screen of the phone to the TV via WiFi. I was looked for one but requires to access to a setting called "duplicate screen" but it is not on the settings of the phone (stock rooted 5.0).

Might be when you setup the phone it asks if you want pin on unlock if you answer no thanks it will not come up
Sounds like i have to reset my phone to get it work :/ or is there any other way to enable?

Thinking about it turn off finger print and set it up again think it can be done that way

Removed all my fingerprints and set them up again but nothing :/ maybe trying to full wipe

It definitely is I've flashed lots of roms and it's always there stock or not as you setup there's one question what days yes or no thanks that's the one you want to say no to
Also after intall alternative camera app like camera fv5... It wont ask for default camera app? This is just strange.
