Hi, I think everyone of us can't use the windows update feature in our omnia 2 (winmo 605)
Then, how can I update my windows build? i'm running build 21863, which have irritating menu to manage..please, i really want to update my winmo 6.5 build. Please share, thanks!
I just went into the update page on my Omnia2 and did a manual update. It took about 4 mins and I did not have it connected to my PC. Update successful.
why i can't? failed to connect.
can someone please help me?
same problem here.
it always tells me to check the connection and make sure time and date are set correctly.
for system time i use GMT+1
connection is fine. i tried provider network as well as WiFi.
Does anybody have a solution how I can check for updates?
[Solution] Update Samsung Omnia II
Method 1: By Yourself
1) Download New PC Studio from Samsung's website:
Link: downloadcenter[dot]samsung[dot]com/content/SW/201002/20100210183453156/New_PC_Studio_1.4.0.IL2.exe
*NOTE: REPLACE the [dot] with .
2) Install and launch NPS
*NOTE: YOU MUST BE RUNNING XP/VISTA TO USE. WINDOWS 7 IS NOT SUPPORTED
3) Connect your device via USB, make sure ActiveSync is already installed, ensure that NPS detects your phone.
*NOTE: IF YOU HAVE LOST/MISPLACED YOUR USB CABLE, A STANDARD MICRO USB CABLE SHOULD DO.
At the bottom right hand corner, there is a 'Upgrade' Button. Click on it. It will launch a window in NPS. Select your phone and click Check For Updates. If there are upgrades available, it should prompt you whether you want to install the upgrade. From here, follow the instructions onscreen.
If your phone errors during installation, it will boot into recovery. Reconnect the phone to the computer. It will not be recognized by NPS yet. Once again click the 'Update' Button and instead of Checking for Updates, click Recovery.
Method 2: At a Service Center
If your phone is still under warranty, you can bring the phone to a service center for upgrade. It should take ~30min for them to do that, depending on the number of customers they are serving. This way if anything goes wrong it isn't your fault.
I think Samsung disable the update function in their phones as they wanted people to flash only Samsung-Approved ROMs from their application
Besides, i was also facing this problem, so GOOD LUCK!
HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU
I just tried to update on my i8000 - worked fine, but:
a) it lasted a few minutes
b) no updates available now.

For some drivers you will simply have to wait until Windows 8 drivers are released. This should happen until Windows 8 is RTMd. Aside from that you might want to run the installers in compatibility mode for Windows 7 (right click on the installer, go to properties and you'll find your way from there).
Did you do a clean installation or an upgrade from a prior OS install? Seems like your system is severly shot (reinstallation issue, etc.) A clean installation should not have those problems.
With Windows 8 RTM you will have to reinstall eventually as the upgrade path from the Preview Versions does not keep anything except for User Data.
I did fresh install
I installed the drivers
The problem was that win 8 has a new security system about the drivers.i disabled it in advanced startup
hello last week my father had boughed a samsung ativ smart pc 500t because the device had windows 8 not 8.1 i told my father to update everything so he did as i told him and after the updates downloaded he restarted the device and the updates started installing and when the pc started it said ``failure configuring windows updates retrieving changes`` but its taking way to long so we force powered off the device and got into troubleshooting but when we wanted to restore or factory reset the tablet said `insert your window installation or recovery media to continue´
thats because there is no recovery partition.
the tablet came without keyboard so the only way to operate is by a external mouse and keyboard but the tablet has only one port please help as both me and my father do not know what to do and Ive tried to install a different system but the tablet does not see the card or any driver connected to it can someone please tell me what can i try now because I´m really clue less?
Aside from the obvious answer (take it back to the shop), you could try the nearly-as-obvious answers like "use a keyboard (because you don't actually need a mouse; use Tab to navigate between buttons and options, arrow keys to select stuff, and Space Bar or Enter to click)", "Use a USB hub, they're like $4 and will allow you to connect multiple peripherals at once", and "boot to Win8.x install media, because it will load the touchscreen driver for you". There are lots of places you can get install media for Windows; they only care about the product key so the bits are easy to find.
Hello!
I'd really like to use SideSync 3 from Samsung with my Note 4, because I work on my computer alot and it would be very handy to operate my phone via comp.
I had it set up on my ex personal PC via USB, but I can't get it to work on my ASUS laptop.
Problem: I install SideSync 3 from http://www.samsung.com/us/sidesync/ and after I start the program nothing happens. It's like it freezes on opening and doesn't start. I was looking in the running processes but can't find any clue that is actualy running nor anything. I tried running as admin, tried system compatibility with win 8, 7, xp, dpi changes, admin rights... nothing works.
Any idea?
I'd be really happy if someone helped me out! =)
Sorry this won't help much. But it's working fine on WiFi. 8.1 Windows. Check you have latest version from Samsung on your note

Same problem here on Asus laptop with Windows 8.1
Same problem here.
Any ideas?
hi ,
i noticed that you are trying to get SideSync 3 it to work on Win 8.1 (PC /USB .)
However ,i have Acer laptop Win 8 ( have not updated laptop to Win 8.1 ) SideSync 3 works fine. (No freezes or nothing, smooth, no problems at all )
Note 4 / USB connected .
Maybe you can " read " something into why it works on Win 8, since you " tried system compatibility with win 8" ?
Good luck
I have same problem. I tried on 3 different computers (Win 10, Win 8.1 and Win 7). To my suprise I can't run this app on any computer. It just will not start - at least it seams so. I also tried different compability modes and run it as administrator, but no success (it's same experience as miHah).
This is not a problem of phone (I use S6 Edge) - the phone is recognized when connected by USB (and I can browse/edit content on phone from pc). It just wont work with SideSync. BTW: I tried with SideSync version 3 and 4. Same results - doesnt run.
I have similar problem. I am unable to install samsung sidesync because it freezes my Windows 10 pc while installing samsung usb drivers for mobile devices. I am also unable to uninstall samsung usb drivers. Everytime I forced to reset my pc. Any ideas?
I have same issues and very confused
Admin rights requested on startup
At any time when I reboot, as Sidesync is started during boot sequence, when I login in, the Admin rights autorisation opened as I am not admin by default.
Any clue or advice for this ?
Thanks
jp
Same here
Do you guys also have keis 3 installed? I was able to start sidesync. I hadn't had any devices linked yet but I installed keis 3 and now it is doing the same (not even starting). I noticed when I downloaded sidesync from the Samsung website, it notified me I needed to update keis 3 and uninstalled it when I accepted the update. I wonder if it has something to do with both programs being installed or if you also need sidesync source on the computer as well. BTW I'm running acer win 7.

Since the only constructive response was "Reset your PC" without telling you how to do so even though you say "Settings and Windows 10 apps not opening", I will do that person one better and actually give you instructions for resetting.
Reboot your machine, at the login screen, instead of typing your password or PIN, hold shift and while holding shift press Restart from the Login screen (click the power button and choose Restart). Continue holding shift and it will bring you into the Windows Recovery Environment. Choose Troubleshooting, Reset This PC.
@ahmadus The user wouldn't be able to reset his PC without getting into Recovery Environment. As the Reset this PC function is exposed through the settings app that OP says does not open. In this case, the user may not know how to enter the Recovery Environment from alternative means. If you're going to provide help, actually provide constructive help.
@ShadowEO I thought reset pc is the easiest thing to do on windows 10.

It is, but it's only easy if you can access the Recovery Environment to start the process. The good news is that you can start the process using a Windows 10 Installation disc (either USB or DVD) by choosing "Repair your computer" instead of "Install" when the installer starts up.
Latest Version
Try this version: http://www.softolite.com/windows-10-lite/
This is the official trial version with the latest build.
Wrong, you should ONLY download media from sources you trust, such as the official Windows 10 media creation tool or ISOs available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10, THIS is the official URL to download Windows installation media. Also @CarlRock, all versions of Windows are trials until they're licensed, that blog is not the official source of ANYTHING Windows related.
You should also NEVER use a "lite" version of Windows unless you yourself built it, or you understand both what was removed and the consequences for removing that Windows component. Many users on the Windows subreddit go removing components without a full understanding of what they do or their full purpose in the OS, then come and complain that the system isn't working right.
Just use Windows as it was meant to be used. If you don't need a feature, don't configure it, or just plain don't use it. Dont just eviscerate it from the system without a thought to stability.
