Hello,
I got this issue on my Xiaomi 9T (EUROPE). I have set up my Google Pay and my 4 different cards. I had to verify each of the cards separately to make them work. Then I can pay contactless using my phone with Google Pay. The problem starts after few days, when I want to pay with Google Pay contactless again - all of the cards require again NEW verification. So I verify all of them and I can use them. But after few days, the same thing happens - all cards require again new verification. It is so annoying, I cannot pay in the store unless the cards are verified and I cannot be re-verifying them every other day.
I also check with Google Pay support but they could not figure out anything. I uninstalled up, cleared cache, cleared data, verified cards and again after few days, cards require new verification. They told me to check with Xiaomi, whether that has nothing to do with new software updates from Xiaomi, but I don't install new Xiaomi updates every 3 days.
Anybody had such an issue?
nobody with similar issue?

When did it start to happen? Did you install any other software? It looks more like the app data is being cleared from time to time, also check if Gpay has all the permissions and if you use SIM wallet try to switch to HCE wallet method, that's what Google uses preferably.

Hello
Just switched from symbian to android and now I really want to get some apps installed to my phone.
When I click the market app, I need to sign in with my gmail account.
But when I try this it gives me the message.
"Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server.
This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services"
The part with temporary I don't believe and the SIM card part I know is wrong as I can surf the net, sync my exchange company mail etc.
I have tried with WIFI also, but same message coming.
Living in Norway, using Netcom as carrier.
Does anybody have any clue on how I can get past this and log into market?
Best regards
TommyE
Remove the sim. Wifi should still work. Tested here fine, when I had a Hero. This will not be a data provisioning issue.
I can also confirm this. I didn't initially have a Google account, and when I tried to create one via the handset I got the data provisioning error. I master reset the phone, created a Google account online with my PC, and set the Google login details in the initial setup of the phone. After this I had no problems.
Good luck.
ditto, I didn't set up android account when I went through initial setup, and it wouldn't work later. Had to factory reset and do it during initial setup (it was happy enough using my wifi for this)
same problem on HTC Magic =(
I have HTC Magic, i purchased it several days ago and it was working just fine. Then i found out that i can't replace the google account from previous owner and decided to hard-reset.
After that I'm getting this (I'm on T-mobile USA and I have just internet for 5.99):
"This could be a temporary problem or your sim card may not be provisioned for data services, if it continues, call customer care"
Called customer care, they said it won't work without 24.99 data plan, but it WAS working before! I tried changing APN from epc.tmobile.com to wap.voicestream.com but it didn't help =(
Phone is unlocked. Without signin in to google I can't even use phone features.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
I am having this issue now. I bought my Hero last week and set it up with my China Mobile SIM card. Then I decided to switch to China Unicom because they offer WCDMA 3G service. I am able to connect to CU data just fine but none of my Google apps will function. I can check gmail through the browser but not the internal application. This happens on Wifi as well.
I have done several factory resets with no luck. Any ideas?
after more than 12 hours my problem just went away. i don't know why. my guess is google has a mechanism in place to lock out accounts from more than one source or something. it's strange that i never had the problem with my G1 as often as i changed ROMs and when I changed SIM cards with it.

I've been having issues with getting signed into Google here in China as well. I had also just come back from vacation where I was using a different carrier.
I had been unsuccessful in getting a connection to the Google servers for the last 12+ hours. I have reflashed my ROM (actually three different ones) and reformated my SD card, all with no luck.
Just got to the office and connected successfully right away over our VPN wireless router, however I'm still having trouble getting Gmail to load all of my conevrsations.
So, my guess is the usual iffy Chinese connection.

it's very strange. I never had an issue with my G1 but hero has all kinds of connection issues whether on WiFi or 3G. I rarely get email notifications, this issue, and now I can't download ANYTHING from the market.
please help ! =[
someone please help i just bought a sony ericsson x10 mini pro yesterday and im not able to browse the net, use the market or anything without it saying
"This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be
provisioned for data services"

I have Google Wallet on my Galaxy Nexus, and wanted to add the same card to my Nexus 7. Whenever I try to add the card, I get a message telling me to carefully review my information because somehting is incorrect. I called Citi and had them verify all the information on my account was correct and that they haven't sent me a new card or canceled mine without me knowing. According to the customer service agent, everything is correct. I am currently on hold waiting for Nexus customer support (about 15 minutes into the wait right now) but was wondering if anyone has had any issues or knows of anyone that may have had issues with doing this.
Edit to add:
Got in touch with someone (1h11m wait) and was told that you can only use 1 device per card and that if I want to use the same Citi card with Wallet on the Nexus 7, I have to disable it in the Galaxy Nexus first.
I got a brand new P9 Lite with my contract that is supposedly not having a SIM-LOCK.

Here is the problem:
When I try to open the PlayStore then it crashes. When I try to do anything with a google account on this phone then the app or window simply closes.
Already did multiple factory/hard resets, tried reinstalling the firmware through the emergency recovery, reinstall the PlayStore, nothing helps.
Now here is the juicy part.
When I put in a SIM card from a provider other than the one I got the phone from, then the Internet works and I can make calls, but the playstore crashes. So does not look like SIM LOCK as then I could not make calls or use the internet-
When I put in a card from my provider then a couple of apps auto-install, the phone wants me to restart it and VOILA. the PlayStore and google services work!
Anyone got an idea why I am required to put in a SIM card from my provider to "activate" the playstore and all google services?
I already talked to the support of both Huawei and my provider and they both have no idea what is going on. They say that the phone and google services must work fine without inserting a SIM card at all.
Look around i think i saw similar thread with answers...
I can't find anything.
I tried to use Android Pay this afternoon here in the UK, and in two different shops my Android Pay has stopped working. NFC is on, Android Pay is set to default, open app is disabled. It's not my card/account because I used my card to eventually pay. Anyone else having issues?
This the same as Google Pay? GP works for me alright
Yes same as Google Pay, that's what I meant. Still not working!
It's working here. I updated to the latest version gpay.
Gpay is working correctly here too.
Anyone facing this problem? My google pay is inconsistent when on public transport and in retail stores.
Could it be software issue?
Can you type Oxygen version, root or no? And can you find in Google play settings certification of you device?

Also having problem with my NFC with public transport.
Never work for public transport before, but ok with retail payment
my is Oxygen OS 10.5.10.IN11AA, no root.
not sure if this is the Google Play Cert
Version 20.6.19-all [0] [PR] 316598174
OOS 10.5.10.IN11AA
Google Play Services Version 20.21.17
Google Pay Version 2.111.306
I tried toggling on the '' non standard NFC tag support '' in developers option. Doesnt work as well.
Many op8p users also faced the same problem in my country.
Tried re-adding my cards several times, cleared cache of google pay, google play services, google framework.
Downgrading app versions.
On public transport, my phone just vibrates and will prompt " does not work " or " move closer ". Never worked, receiver receive nothing.
In retail payment, it worked about 90% of the time with 10% requiring to tap twice.
I have similar issue.
- I use polish banking application that uses NFC for contactless payment.
- In retail payment, 90% of the time is successful, 10% requires to tap again.
- In vending machine almost every payment is rejected (I got 1 successful payment but I can't reproduce it again). I used same banking application on my xiaomi mi8 with same vending machine and worked good.
- I tried google pay and it doesn't work too (at least it shows some error on screen)
- no root, oxygenos 10.5.9.IN11BA
In conclusion it's not a problem with google pay but with nfc as other payment apps have same problem.
IIRC on the teardown video, the NFC chip is in behind the camera. It's maybe in too deep inside the phone for it to work correctly everytime.

Came looking to see if I was the only one with an NFC issue
Mine has been working perfectly since I got the phone, then yesterday I went to use it at a POS in a shop and it wouldn't work......move closer/slower etc. so I used my bank card itself.
I got the train and said I had low balance when I got off so went to top up my leap card (Irish transport card) and it fails the second it tried to read the card.
FYI I have sucessfully topped up my leap card dozens of times on the phone.
Next I went to get something to eat. I tried using it at the restaurant POS and worked first time, no problem.
Then this morning I just tried using it in shop POS and everytime it pinged and gave me a tick mark and showed the card as if it completed OK but the shop unit did not register anything (I also know the transaction did not go through as revolut did not show the transaction). I used my bank card and it worked.
I have just tried my leap card again and it is still not working.
This is very frustrating as I use NFC payment everywhere.
Anyone know if I can see logs for the NFC chip?
Why did it suddenly just stop working, I haven't had any updates.
Running Oxygen OS 10.5.12.IN11BA
Play services Version 20.33.14(120400-327249014)
Google Pay Version 2.116.328438545
Not had this problem before, could your case be the cause? Or anything else in your hand?
The range has impressed me with mine.
Currently rooted and using xXx and Gpay is still good.
It looks the oneplus 8 pro nfc chip is very weak. For me the strongest signal is under oneplus logo on the back. I found out the nfc chip is under the keypad at vending machine (not under display). Now to make it work I must keep my phone very closely to the terminal.
I need to get close on a number of NFC readers...no biggie.
