just got off the phone with verizon and explained the situation. they said it shouldnt have that and have not heard anyone else yet with this issue. they are gonna overnight me a brand new phone, charge my account for it and once they get back my replacment they will take the charge off. everyone should check your screens and see if you have the same issue. you can notice it in a white background. if so call verizon and have them replace it.
Don't have that problem I just checked. But hope all goes well. Keep us posted.

well when the rep ordered the replacement on thursday he didn't realize that he was past the cut off time for ordering for next day delivery so now i have to wait till monday to get the device. hopefully this one has no screen issues. also had some issue with the responsiveness with the touch screen.
well i got my new replacement note 3 and don't really see the pink blotch on the bottom but its still a little bit darker on the bottom. i still have my note 2 and i compared both devices on the google page and other apps and the note 3 has a pinkish display compared to my note 2. whites do not look as white as it should plus its a 1080p screen so shouldnt it? can someone else compare to other devices if u have them, i'm debating on whether i should return the device and wait a little to see if a better batch would come out and hopefully get a better phone. is it possible samsung had a bad batch of phones since this just came out? plus i noticed that the verizon versions come from china and i do have other samsung products like the note 8 and its made in korea and doesn't seem to have issues? idk guys tell me what you think.
edit,, the note 3 is on the left, its hard to tell in the pictures but you can tell in person..

The Note 2 used a different pixel matrix than the Note 3. I'm wondering if the pink hue is a byproduct of the Note 3's Pentile Matrix? With a pentile matrix the red and blue pixels are larger, which if I'm not mistake allows for more vibrant and rich colors. From what I can remember, I experienced a similar issue when I was on my Galaxy Nexus...and it was more noticeable to me when looking at grey tones. im just wondering if this is a defect or if its normal because of the type of display. if anyone can compare to their other phones.when i looked at the phone when it first came out for tmobile the display looked perfect but i remember their display phones were on 100 percent brightness and dont know if that makes a difference.
Here"s my story in the same regard:
Picked up my Note 3 yesterday from the carrier. Checked device in store to make sure no out of box failure. Put the phone on charge last night (device was switched off). When I checked the in the morning the device was extremely hot and the battery didnt charge at all, infact it had lost 50% of its charge from when I first plugged it in.
Brought the device to work and put it on charge again. Device charged up to 100% and was working fine until I noticed the pink hue on the top third of the screen. Took the device back to the carrier who informed me and immediate replacement could not be granted as the device has to be sent in for an assessment.
I decided to remove the sim card before leaving and then noticed the sim card was melted and deformed.
I now have to wait 7 days for an answer from the carrier as to whether the device will be repaired or replaced.
Needless to say I am very upset considering this occurred within 24 hours of unboxing the device
I suggest those who are having the pink hue issue check their devices while its charging an monitor the temperature.

Its sounds all screen that having pink issue is actually a burn mark due to heat??

Go to settings_Display_Screen mode and see what that does. Couldn't really see much in the comparison pics but I hope you two will keep us informed.
No change..same problem...screen pink hue..

Indeed, I came to the same conclusion.
My 3 days old Note 3 has the same pink hue/tint at the bottom of the screen (when used vertically).
I noticed the pink tint today's morning. And just now concluded, after some search and simple screen tests, that my device screen bottom becomes Pink after some use, due to heat.
How I concluded that? I just left it at stand by after the pink tests, and after 10 min. I checked again for the pink hue, and Nothing!
In less words:
When left over the desk with screen off, gets ambient temperature, pink hue goes off.
When left in my pocket, it gets pink (at the bottom).
After some time of use without having initially the pink hue, because the normal heating of the use (CPU heat, screen light heat, etc.), it gets pink at the bottom.
Anyways, today is cold here (around 15 C) but maybe in summer, when the temperature raises around 35, 40 C deg. the screen may get a lot pinkier. And if that happens, it should be a valid excuse to use the warranty.
I may be wrong but, it gets more noticeable as it gets warmer for me.
At least now, I know that I'm not the only one with "bad luck" with new devices :silly:
So I got my S6 edge yesterday and I did set up the night clock.
I am not sure if any of you have noticed this but the Night clock lights up the whole display and not only the edge display pixels.
If you look at the phone in complete dark, you will see the complete screen has turned on and looks glowing but time is displayed only on the edge.
Am not sure why Samsung designed it like this as they could easily take advantage of AMOLED.
You're not the only one to report this, mine does not suffer this issue however, I wonder if the people that have the issue are all on the same update?
I believe the entire screen has to be lit to display even the smallest part of the screen.

Not on an AMOLED. The whole point of the display is that blacks are "true blacks," i.e. when a black is displayed the pixels are not lit up at all. On an LCD, yes, but not AMOLED. So the appeal of the night clock is that it can remain on and use almost no battery because so few pixels are being lit.
Used it for the first time last night and it was fine
Mine does that too, on Att black 32gb edge

As @SomeGuyDude answered, in AMOLED, it shouldnt be like this. While in IPS or any other technology, this is how it works.
BTW am on Canadian S6 Edge and S/W version is G925W8VLU1AOCG.
I'm thinking it's a software issue of some kind. I'm on a 64GB ATT model and as far as I can tell it isn't doing it, but it might be an imperceptible light-up that I haven't noticed yet.
I've seen this pointed out in a few reviews. I can't link anything (newbie rules) but check out the PCMag "Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (T-Mobile)" review - there is a picture of the Note Edge night clock beside 2 S6 Edge night clocks, and with the S6 Edge the screen is obviously backlit and much brighter. Here is what they say about it:
As you can see, the S6 Edge turns its backlight on, making it more of a nightlight than a sleeping clock. In a completely dark room, it's really noticeable, and really annoying.
64GB black model from Telus here. My night clock seems to work just fine. The rest of the screen is definitely not backlit.

did you check in full dark room as it is not visible during the daytime or with any sort of light on.
There's a thread about this in the Q+A forum.

Some people have the problem and some don't (one guy owned 2 phones, only one of them glowed).

Yep, I checked it last night when I was in bed. The rest of the screen is just as dark as it is when it's locked.
Mine does have the issue :/
It's draining battery too, lost 15% in 6 hours last night with night edge on
Strangely enough, info stream has a fully black screen... so it has to be a software issue. ..
try reset your phone..

People have done reset but it doesnt help.
I think that some people just cant tell if the screen is on displaying a very very dim black, plus the night clock.
I can tell, and my tmobile 64 gb doesnt turn off the screen while showing the night clock.
On my Nokia n9, and n8, when showing the clock or annimations, black pixel is totally of.
..so from a wide point view.. hardware problem.. Or is it not a amoled ..as I still waiting to get the phone I have no compare..

Hey! Good news, I've found how to fix the problem with nightclock! When launch, u can see the entire panel keep powered on... if it's the case 3 swipes on the clock and the hole display goes fully dark!
Let me know if this works for you too.
Edit... after 2 min the screen the clock relozd and the display return to half black mod... this prbably need a software update...

Hi,
My Galaxy s4 got hit.
During the day it slightly went blacker and blacker until it became a Black screen !
It turned on, sounds work everything works except the screen.
Is it a display problem ? Liquid ? Component ?
Please help me...
Thanks
When you say "my S4 got hit", how did it get "hit"?
Regardless, you more than likely have a display that has failed, although only the repair center can tell you for certain. There could be other reasons for the black screen, ranging from a bad connector to a bad GPU. You won't know until it's looked at.
Hey,
I've had my S4 for a few years, it is unrooted and running the stock Touchwhiz rom 5.0.1.
Whenever the devices screen is about to turn off it flickers green, it started a few months ago and was hardly noticeable, but within the past few weeks it has gotten worse. It sometimes flickers while in use, but usually on flickers when the screen is about to turn off. It seems to only effect the lower 4/5ths of the screen.
I have a video, but I'm a new user and XDA wont allow me to post links yet.

If factory reset doesn't solve it then you should prepare for the screen to die at some point. Or maybe it's the GPU. Either way, something's gonna break.
I had something like this after dropping my phone onto a heavy tiled floor. it started with a dead pixel and whenever the screen dimmed before going off the bottom third of the panel would flicker.
eventually a bright green line went thru that dead pixel from the top to the bottom of the screen.
I lived with it like that for over a year until the digitizer started to become unresponsive.
make sure you get a genuine amoled replacement screen when you finally accept the inevitable. I got conned with a cheap knock off LCD replacement display which has terrible terrible contrast and can't cope with shadows...
Hi All,
Posting this for my father.
He has the UK S8, non root or anything special. Recently he noticed an odd half circle in the top right of the screen.
My nephew instantly said it's dead pixels, and I guess it could be, however, it's so perfectly round and in the shape of a camera cut out, I'm not 100% convinced he is right.
I've run a screen test and it's there on all tests too. I've never seen dead pixels on a phone before, but have on LCDs monitors, which usually have coloration to them, but this is just a black circle...
I've attached a picture I took. What do you guys think?

Yea is dead pixels. I've seen it a few times on the s8. Ther s7 edge was bad for this. This isn't just a regular LCD it's amoled screen. Each pixel is individual each pixel is its own lights source. Either warranty or new screen is only way too fix it mate

Damn. I had original s, s3, s5, s7 edge, s9 plus and now s10+, but this is the first time I ever seen it. It strikes me as odd, as it's so perfectly round.
Thanks for the response. This is the second one he had now (first had such bad screen burn he had it replaced). He doesn't have much luck with screens as every phone he had burns in after a couple of months. His fault though as I keep telling him to set the screen to sleep after 30 seconds, but he insists on setting it to 5 minutes!
