Hi,
after updating through LG program, now I have an original PIE branded rom, but have no twrp nor root.
I'm searching for a guide to install twrp and root to an original and clean pie rom, but I find only old guides.
How to install twrp and root to my original pie rom? Links appreciated
Thanks

Hello!
Why did you not look at the guides section of this forum before asking - that's BASIC forum etiquette!
Please do that, there's a pinned (!) guide for unlocking the bootloader and installing twrp, so you don't even have to search.
So next time please do search and not just claim to do so (searching requires actual looking) and don't start another useless thread.
Regards
PS if you're absolutely clueless, ask in the noob friendly thread (again, pinned).

I already looked to that guides, infact I used them to install twrp and root when I was on nougat or oreo, because they are guides that were created in nougat or oreo times or, best, they clearly state for what version they're right. But reguarding android pie I have not found anything by "date" or by "clear reference to pie"... Have I been clear?

Nothing has changed, it still works, as I myself can confirm (just did it last week, when camera started freezing on me, going back from an Android 10 ROM - flashed stock Oreo via lgup, upgraded, installed twrp via fastboot, rooted, np).
But to reiterate... Why exactly didn't you ask in the corresponding thread? Sorry, but I'm a stickler for uncluttered forums.

I ask this because I cant seem to find any relevant Info regarding updating the software of the device.
I'm looking for the image of the latest stock build with as little as possible modification (obviously except pre-rooting & built-in TWRP) ready for flashing with recovery is there any hope that such a thing?

Maybe you should try reading "LG G3 General", "LG G3 Android Development" and "LG G3 Original Android Development" forums. There are dozens of threads and post about that, the info you asked for is on their's first page... This thread, for example.
In short: no, nobody yet made a prerooted kdz. If by "image" you meant "a flashable zip", then yes, head to robalm's thread.
First link exactly what I was looking for thanks!
P.s
I looked in said forums didn't had any luck finding...
Hey guys, I was hoping someone could point me to the latest / most efficient magisk installation instructions? I know how to do it the original way when I first got my phone, but I remember reading about a better method and a newer TWRP install process that enabled you to keep TWRP installed and still boot the phone.
Did many Google searches and used XDA search but the results were all old instructions.
I apologise in advance for those of you who are already offended by the fact that I didn't read every single post on the entire site and internet to find something I am searching for.
Thank you and I hope your new year is off to a good start
I use this guide: https://mata.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
The latest TWRP is located at https://dl.twrp.me/mata/
The latest Magisk is v18.0: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
I would suggest also checking out the PH1 Dev Telegram group where you can find the TWRP and Magisk Patched Images you were talking about as well as well as other things you might find interesting. Here is the link if your interested https://t.me/EssentialPH1DEV
Thanks guys!!
I used to be a flashaholic on my last two phones, but now that I'm finally wanting to try a custom ROM on my PH-1, I'm realizing I've forgotten the procedure.
Can someone please direct me to clear instructions for going from stock Pie to a custom ROM?
My phone's bootloader is unlocked.
I poked around on the Essential forum sections but didn't see instructions. Last time I flashed a ROM, it seemed links to instructions were usually included in the thread announcing each ROM. That's apparently not always the case now.
Thanks.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to see if could flash a different rom/try lineage os on my S10+ (SD/Canada) and I've checked everywhere but i can't find a single thread or website where there is support for this phone (or the SM-G975U). Am i just unable to navigate the forum or is there literally no support/custom rom development for these versions?
Thanks

Got my answer.
sheikh03, I am also curious if lineage would work on SM-G975W. Do you mind posting any information you found?
1. You cannot unlock the bootloader yourself but according to this thread there is a way
2. This thread is the lineage OS rom for the SnapDragon Version
The 2nd Thread has a link to the TWRP recovery thread as well.
My guarantee on my phone has run out. I have a Galaxy S10+ exynos with one ui 4.1. Where can I start to change the rom and root my phone? Can you recommend me an up to date and safe guide?
Google could have done all of this for you.

Do you know how many results you will get if you ask google? Not all of them will be valid or up-to-date and it's hard to pick one.
I really don't understand what you're saying. I rooted my first phone thanks to articles on google. They usually don't even have to be up to date. Plus your phone is relavitely new compared to what I had.
Anyways, first look for a guide to unlock your bootloader, that's the first step.
Next, learn how to flash twrp onto your device.
Lastly learn how to flash custom roms onto your device via twrp. Custom roms can be found in your device's dev forum here on xda.
You'll need a pc, the right drivers, minimal adb and fastboot (or odin), and the required files (twrp, custom rom, gapps)
Also, you've posted this into the wrong subforum. This subforum is for rom development, it's where devs post roms. If you want to ask a question or need help then ask in the Q/A subforum.
