LG G6 Warranty with camera glass replaced - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hi,
the vibration motor of my 23-month-old G6 has stopped working and at first sight it doesn't seem a software problem. furthermore the 3.5mm jack has been partially broken for a long time.
I'm considering sending it to LG for warranty service but I replaced the camera glass with an unofficial one. the repairer told me that he had not opened the phone nor the warranty seals (seems legit according to online tutorials). Do you think I have a chance that my phone will be repaired for free? I attach photos (google drive links. remove space after 'h' in http) to assess how visible the difference is.
Sorry for my bad English and thank you so much for your answers

XDAII (O2 UK model) - Speaker not working correctly

Hi,
No doubt as many others have, I managed to drop my XDAII one too many times (they are a bit to light and smooth).
I think the speaker is no a bit duff as sometimes it stops working and I can't hear the other person. If I press on the circular bevel on the case that hides the speaker it starts to work, sometimes tapping the bevel also brings the speaker back to life.
I wanted to know, could this be a simple problem like the speaker connection coming loose or something more serious where a solder fix will have to be applied?
I think the device is still under warranty so I might be able to RMA it but I wanted to know how easy or hard is to fix this, can it be fixed by me or should I send it in to be repaired?
Cheers,
Taz
I would send it in for repair, once you break the security seal you will invalidate warranty and then you will be in trouble if another hardware failure occurs. It is probably a simple connection problem.
its just likely to be the spring connectors from the board to the speaker which is fixable (details can be found in the forums HERE).
However, the O2 XDAII has a 24 month warranty which i found out in November as i had exactly the same problem and decided to take it to my local O2 shop to have it repaired. It took them 1 week to get it back to me but they told me my unit was irreparable and gave me a reconditioned unit as a replacement. I was not very happy as the case was scratched all over etc and my unit was as new. I complained and asked them to give me a new unit. After a further 2 weeks and 2 more instances of sending it back to the repair centre i eventually got a brand new fully boxed XDAII (second battery, second case, second cradle etc etc) from the O2 shop but not until i kicked off with the manager stating how unprofessional O2 was in repairing/replacing a unit that was under warranty.
NB. New XDAII screens are no where near as good as the original screens when looking at it from an angle. They look fine straight on but colours fade/change when viewed from below or from the left.
Hope some of that helps.
Cheers mate,
I think I still have about a year on the warranty but I heard that the XDAII are no longer in production so I am a bit worried that I may not be able to get it repaired however a pal reckons they should upgrade me to the XDAIIs (I had one, didn't like it).
I will visit my local O2 shop in a few days and kick it off with the manager as well... to get some results of course
Cheers,
Godz

help demaged hinge (rubber conector)

Hi there,
My MDA PRo recently started switching itself off
mainly when using GPRS and someone calls simultaneously (this problem do
not exist when connected to the charger). I have send phone to htc but they said that I have damaged the hinge by turning the screen over 180 degrees) and do not cover that repair in warranty (repair cost advised 110GBP). There is no physical damage to the device and other than that it works absolutely fine. I believe that must be a damage to a rubber connector. Is there anyone (in London) who could repair that for me or with spare parts as 110GBP seems to be a bit excessive.
Counting on you

Need help for reprinting a Warranty Seal

hi I've bought my Touch Dual on ebay and it was said to be under warranty (receipt) but when I opened the backside of the phone I discovered a broken warranty seal. Now I have severe problem with my ear speaker which doesn't work anymore. I've found photos of the dual opened but it seems to be too dificult to access the broken speaker...and I don't even know which remplacement speaker I should buy...
But as my phone is normally still under warranty I need your help : can you take a picture (macro and highest quality) of your warranty seal ? I'll also need the exact measure of the circle in order to reprint it as life looking as the original one...
Thanks a lot
sorry mate - i broke mine ;-)
but i am sure there are some dudes outside having a working warranty seal ..
good luck
hi, the seal is made of really thin latex like material, i know cos i popped mine to open case and align some issues. it really isnt difficult to open and get everything out, trust me!! and the whole case is like $80 from cnn.cn
http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-dual-full-housing-black-p-2329.html
i have link to opening instructions too when i get home
be brave!!
BTW: my seal was white with 'VOID' written on it in red, just covered the top right screw hole
Warranty seal
If you still need a photo of the seal I can do one for you. Post again if you still need it.
Thanks for your support. What do you think about my problems? Will it be solvable by myself? :
-First I've encountered a ear speaker problem :indeed the speaker I use to aswer a call doesn't work anymore...I've tried to hard reset the phone but it didn't solve the problem...I've already had this problem a month ago, but after a week the speaker miraculously re-worked...
So I don't really know if the speaker is just unpluged or broken...In the first case it will be really easy to solve by opening the Dual. In the second case I don't know which kind of speaker buy and if it's sold somewere.
I've not seen any post speaking about this problem. I saw a tutorial with photo of the dual opened (http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/razbor_htc_touch_dual/) : I didn't really see the aspect of the ear speaker and it seemed to be directly joined to the electronic card...Have you ever seen it? Do you think it'll be easily solvable?
-My second problem is about the sliding screen part of the Dual. I have recently let my niki fall while the sliding sreen was opened. Since then I have noticed that the screen part of the phone move a little when the phone is closed. It's really unpleasant when you hold it closed in your hand because it's always moving and doesn't give you the initial sensation of rigidity...
I think I have bend the rail that the screen part usually follow and I wonder if there is an easy way to dismantle the two parts of the phone to rebend the rail properly. Do you think it'll be easily bendable or sould I buy a new case?
These 2 problems make me hesitate about a warranty return...Indeed I don't want to destroy the plastic case by making bad manipuation, and then just see that the speaker isn't easily exchangeable... As my phone is still under warranty I'll mostly choose the easiest way by returning to the vendor...
Anyway I don't have any time to open it this week so I'll think about it in the next 2 weeks. Could you please take a picture of your seal and give me the size of it : it'll always be useful in case I renounce to open my niki (and in 2 weeks maybe no one will agree to send me the seal picture )
Thanks a lot for your support

[Q] [DISCUSS] HD2's touch not working, htc says due to usb connector !!!!!!!!

Hello guys,
I can't believe in my ears and I would like to discuss this with you.
My HD2 has the usual "touch screen not responding" problem.
When I sent it back, htc told me that my touch screen needs to be changed and that this is part of the warranty that they will cover but there is an extra cost (actually bigger than buying the phone) for changing the main board which cannot be covered by htc because "plugging and unplugging the device in power has destroyed it".
Is this even possible or are they trying to just void my warranty?
I should tell you that my usb connector cable was working fine when I sent it to warranty!
Did you sent it with the battery included?
If so, then if the battery had a charge on it, then that would surely indicated that it had been charged via the USB.
Now if the USB went faulty at the same time as the touchscreen, then it must be a fault with the motherboard. Since they have admitted that they would fix the touchscreen problem as part of the warranty, then the motherboard must be fixed.
They designed the phone to use the microUSB connector to charge the phone and knew that the phone would have to be charged almost every day. So it is their fault, unless they can prove that you were extremely harsh at inserting and removing the cable.
no the battery was not sent with the phone.
They didn't tell me that the usb is defective. They just told me that the mainboard needs replacement for the new touch screen to work because the connector of the touch screen on the mainboard is destroyed because of the usb unplugging which is even more outraging!!
I have watched the disassemble of the hd2 and I can't seem to find out how the usb charging could screw the connector of the touch screen on the mainboard. I think they are not even close!
Are they playing me?
I don't know how the display and the micro usb connectors are placed, but, because what you're saying, I would definitively say that they're trying to cheat you, I don't know where you live, but I would try to reach the HTC service center in your country or zone (in case you didn't), their representatives tend to be not very "correct" with the customers, I sent my HD2 to repair in warranty (wifi plus uneven display retro-illumination) and it returned jusk like new, I taked to one of their representatives, but they send it to HTC's main offices here, I contacted HTC first and they told me excatly what to do and how to do it.
The workshop where I took my phone to be sent to HTC is well known to be not very "honest" and most of the people who take a phone, pda or whatever there, finish angry and deluded.
good luck then.
From what I've seen and read in recent threads, broken USB connectors don't affect the touch screen in any way.
I will talk to the representatives today in my country and inform you. I really think they are playing me. I can't seem to find any reason how the usb connector and the touch screen are linked
Ok I just talked to the representatives here in Greece and they seem to be the rudest I have ever met. So I called the global HTC service. The guys there were more than helpful. I decided to send the phone to United Kingdom.
So let's say that the phone comes back from HTC's service in the UK without charge and I have an official answer from HTC's service in Greece that this cost is not covered by warranty what can I do to let HTC know that the service here in Greece works awful?
Write down an email explainig in detail what happened and send it to HTC's main support with the UK support and the Greece support in CC and see what happen.
Cheers

LG G2 bad signal reception - different battery door back case

I recently bought used LG G2 with about 6 months warranty from provider. Network was locked so i used code to unlock it for all network (i dont think this has anything to do with my problem). After few days a noticed that my signal is very bad indoor, i dont even have signal in the middle of my apartment for exemple. I searched over internet if i can fix this problem so i found method with paper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfS4LpfcLfg . I wanted to try if this will help but i just realized that my battery door case is different from the case thats on this clip. On this link you have picture of my case, the black one is mine http://g01.s.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1HsScFVXXXXXcXVXXq6xXFXXXy/131174225/HTB1HsScFVXXXXXcXVXXq6xXFXXXy.jpg , i cannot place paper below those antennas because mine are fixed to the case.
Does anyone have solution for this with this type of back door case?
