Hi guys
I am experiencing a super weird situation, where when using the native Dialer app (and any other app for the sake for the matter), while my origial Google USB C wired ear buds are connected, the sound of the call (both input - microphone, ie other side can't hear me, and output, ie I can't hear otherside) is just not working.
When plugin out and pluging in - while on the call, it's working.
If I called and the ear buds where disconnected, and then connected after the call was connected, then it's working fine.
But it means that I have to start every call w/o ear buds connects, and only then connect. Obivously not practical when driving etc.
These are the necessary specs, probably:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It sounds like some sort of bug that should be reported directly to Google. You can do this directly from the phone.

Having installed SJPhone 3.20b for Windows Mobile 5.0 (download from: http://www.sjphone.org/preview/ce/) I experienced very choppy inbound audio.
The solution is changing SJPhone's advanced audio settings as follows:
buffer size: 80 ms
input queue length: 10
output queue length: 5
RTP jitter queue length: 5
Audio quality through WLAN is quite okay now. As soon I'm in a place with 3G coverage I'll try to place a VoIP call over 3G, if O2 Germany hasn't blocked VoIP ports yet.
I am getting better resutls with these settings:
Driver buffer size, msec: 100
Driver input queue length: 10
Driver output queue length: 10
RTP jitter queue length: 32
Btw, x-lite ce 1.01 has better quality than SJphone, at least on my TyTN, download here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=58154
Also, calls must be done using the USB headset otherwise you get horrybly echo.
I do have the sound coming from the rear speaker...is that what you have?
Further, the sound with SJphone is absolutely horrible...whatever the audio settings....
I tried X-lite..gives same effects...
It s really unusable.
When I call the same correspondant with my PC, it s seemless..
Any clues?
Thx
use the usb headset
No sound...
Hi. I am using HTC X01HT (Softbank) which is supposed to be equivalent to TyTN. I installed SJphone but for some reason no sound is coming. Seemingly, even though I don't hear any sound, the recipient phone is normally ringing. Of course, even if the recipient picks up the phone, still silence on both sides. Any solution? Thank you in advance.
Check your SIP and NAT settings. You'll have problems if your internet connection or the voip server you are connecting to are behind a NAT.
You should use a STUN-server!
@Poof
Hi Poof,
Sorry for the trivial question but I geuss that answer isn't that obvious as it seems. YOu've mentioned that you're using X-Lite with some specific settings. I've downloaded the software using the link you had provided. I did manage to specify the SIP proxy and other SIP related settings during the first run of X-Light.
My question is: HOW DO YOU CHANGE OTHER SETTINGS? In case I need to change SIP IP HOW DO I DO THAT? I didn't succeed with finding searate file responsible for configuration nor I cold find settings changes option in the application itself.
I'd appreciate if you could advice me on these mattares.
TyTN and SJPhone
Hi,
I get horrible sound delays with SJPhone + TyTN. I tried all the settings from this forum and many others and although the sound quality seems OK (I didn't see any significant improvement because of the USB headsed) the delay is 2 to 3 times bigger (up to 1.5-2 s) than on my Wizard.
Please let me know if the above mentioned settings don't give you any delay. If there's no delay, could you please let me know the ROM (and any possible improvements) that you're using?
Please follow this thread also for news:

As for the X-Lite application - I get also delays and bad sound quality. As for its interface - it makes you go nuts, and even more. I never managed to find out how to change the settings for one SIP-account. (through the registry ? this is a joke, right?) Even the PC version is made as if that guy wanted to make a patience testing quiz, not a softphone.
Thank you all.
USB headset
It seems it has something to do wih the USB headset. If I use it - SJPhone gets stuck. If I don't use it - SJPhone runs fine and even the sound quality is acceptable

You can change the settings in the X-Lite app by dialing *311 and *611, these take you to the settings pages. I have however not been able to connect to the network in any way, perhaps you can shed light on the right settings, pof? I am using a voipstunt account, but I have no idea what settings I should use to get a connection to the internet. I have entered the voipstunt settings I found on their website and my account data, but for some reason the app wil not connect.
edit: For some reason when dialing a fixed line phone numer, the Caller is is displayed on the screen as the whole phone numer followed by @voipstunt.com, e.g [email protected]. It looks like the app is trying to reach a voipstunt subsciber instead of a fixed line. How did you get this to work pof? The app keeps trying for a while and then reports Call failed: 480, temporarily not available.
edit 2: Duh, I really have to learn to try more before I post here. I think that by editting the right options and using it over 3G instead of AS I have been able to connect. I cannot try any calls however, none of my contacts with fixed lines appears to be home at the moment (Or they are refusing my calls, also a likely possibility)
Really annoying though is that the app does not sound the waiting tone when it is calling a no., so you have no idea wether or not it is dialing or the connection is just not being made.
I've just installed the latest sjphone beta for ce, to use with fwd. I can't find where to change the advanced audio options. In fact the only audio control I can find is the audio wizard. Can anyoine help me.
In addition my usb headphones long since stopped working, would sound and mic be better with a bluetooth headset (in my case the itech r35) or through the phone itself?
Currently audio is unuseable using the phone, and apparently not working at all with the bluetooth headset.
Your assistance appreciated.
So I've just bought a JVC KW-AVX 740. Great little unit, comes with bluetooth support built in.
Unfortunately, my Galaxy S doesn't integrate as well as it should. Both the unit and the Galaxy S support PBAP. The unit is capable of accessing dialled/received/missed call lists as well as the phonebook and voice dialling on compatible phones. However when pair/connect up my Galaxy S to the unit, the functionality is quite limited.
I can:
Make calls from the headunit
Receive calls via the headunit, so the handsfree element seems to work just fine. Quality is acceptable.
Send my phonebook across manually either one by one or in one go so it is stored on my headunit's memory (this worked flawlessly and was quick)
Play music from the Galaxy S over bluetooth through the headunit (quality is pretty good with no issues to report although I'm yet to do some more complex tests e.g. see what happens if I receive a call whilst streaming audio at the same time)
However, the unit is unable to:
Voice dial
Access the phonebook of my Galaxy S,
Access the dialled/received/missed calls lists
No SMS alerts
To double check it wasn't my unit playing up, I decided to hook up my Nokia 5130 Xpress Music - result?, it worked flawlessly.... Pairing was instant, as it is with the Galaxy S, except everything worked as it should. I could view the lists on my phone through the headunit and access the 5130s phonebook. Everything sync'd perfectly.
So it's not the headunit, meaning it's either Android or something Samsung have done to Android.
When I pair/connect the Galaxy S I do not get a prompt asking me if I want to grant the bluetooth device access to the phonebook - which is what is supposed to happen (and I've read about other peopel receiving this prompt when connecting their Galaxy S's to other car kits e.g. factory car bluetooth etc). When I check the device options in Bluetooth settings on the Galaxy S, under profiles all it shows is "Phone (use for phone audio)" and "Media (use for media audio)". Both boxes are ticked. Shouldn't it show other profiles like PBAP etc?
Does anyone have a picture of what the prompt looks like on the Galaxy S?
Phone details:
OS ver: Gingerbread 2.3.3 official and totally stock (no root, etc)
Basband: I9000XXJVO
Build num: GINGERBREAD.XXJVO
None of the contacts on my phone are synced up with Gmail/Exchange/Facebook. I added all my contacts by hand into the phone's memory.
Question: What's going on? Or more importantly how do I fix it?
Ok so I've done some more tests with some results I guess could be perceived as positive.
I tried my mum's Galaxy S on stock Orange UK branded 2.1 Eclair and to my delight the phone fully integrated... It disconnected the first time but I reconnected and it seemed to be ok.
I then tried a friends Orange San Francisco (aka Zte Blade) on stock Orange UK branded Eclair also, 2.1 - and this also worked fully!
As soon as either phone connects - both show a prompt stating the connecting device (JVC unit) is asking for phone book access - and when given - the stereo can access all lists and the phonebook.
My phone still doesn't work!
I'm putting the problem down to stupid Gingerbread - so WTF did they break?!
I have a 2016 mazda3, my old Samsung worked flawlessly with it. But my new Pure has some serious issues. The most prominent of which is that if I try to dial out for a call it immediately says "hanging up" and then the bluetooth drops.
Music works from it just fine, though it does have substantial lag sometimes. Messages works too, as do INCOMING calls. But outgoing calls are completely FUBAR.
Any ideas?

Have you checked if Mazda have issued a software update ? I know the car is a 2016 model, but often the factory loaded software is already out-of-date.
I bought a new BMW in 2014, and there was already a bluetooth software update available on the BMW website, adding compatibility for a lot more phones.
It was possible to download and update the software quite easily on my BMW via a USB stick. I did it again only a month ago.
Does Mazda offer the same option?

Thanks for the reply, but no, my software is the current version. July 2015 is their latest update and the 2016 model came out afterwards.
Flashing AOKP's unofficial ROM seems to have alleviated this issue for now, but I really do wish I could run stock.
Hi folks. Looking for ideas. I have a Shield Portable with the latest software, circa 2016:
Android verion 5.1
Android security patch level 2016-03-01
Kernel version 3.4.10-gf6c5d7b
[email protected] #1
Fri May 27 07:20:18 PDT 2016
Build number LMY47N.01.00.32208.0110
I'm using some Parrot Bebop 2 drones with both the native Parrott App (FreeFlight Pro, v4.42 or 4.71)
Firmware 4.71
Hardware HW_02
SDK Version 4.0.0.4
as well as AR.Pro 3 in its recent versions.
About a year ago, streaming video to either application started having synchronization problems. The video pane in the apps is highly pixelated and flickers and in some cases, is just frozen. Both software developers don't have an answer. Nothing about Android changed in this period, but both applications have had several revs since it last worked. I'm guessing some function in the SDK has forgotten how to deal with the Shield?
Videos recorded to flash are fine, no problems. I have three drones, all producing the same result. Only live vides displayed in the apps is scrambled.
Just looking for ideas, if not a solution.
Thanks for any help.

Same with my S5. The video feed was good, but now it is laggy and freezes, or disappears entirely, though I maintain control of the quadcopter.
It may be a bandwidth issue. I do seem to hold the visual feed when I use a Mi WiFi+ extender, even though the frame rate is still largely abysmal.
Short version: ZTE Blade A71 does see Phonak Sky M as headset, but can't receive sound from its mic.
Long version: HAs connect to ZTE phone (in fact, two idecntical ZTEs) via Bluetooth, everything is looking pretty normal: call+a2dp profiels are enabled, icon is "earphones wit mic arm", HA buttons operate incoming call correctly, but nothing come through HA microphone. Whatsapp (and other messengers) voice messages and calls has same problem — looks like HA mic is muted completely.
We have another headset, JBL Flex, and it acts 100% correctly with this ZTE phone(s), as well as with other phones.
Also these aids work perfectly with another phone, Redmi 7: all the same, except mic working as intended. And, of course, they are working as HAs flawlessly.
ZTE firmware version: GEN_RU_A7030RU_V1.2
Also there is "Marlin2_18A_W21.32.2|sharkl3_cm4_v2|....|08-10-2021 03:00:24" string in "DEBUG & LOG / System Info / Version Info / CP2 Version(Wifi/BT Version)" part of engineering menu.
Any suggestions for diagnosing the problem further?
