You can try mtk-su and will it work:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd...xperimental-software-root-hd-8-hd-10-t3904595
Or didn't work. Just wait an exploit package and TWRP for Maverick to rooting this:

BootROM exploit package for Maverick is under development to root this.
Try to install Xposed Framework without rooting (VirtualXposed): https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/general/guide-using-virtualxposed-fire-tablet-t4015221
Try to use NoRoot Firewall app from Google Play (VPN firewall) to block internet access from Amazon services and OTA updates.
Try to use KingRoot (many attempts until rebooting or bricking). Just enable OEM unlock on developer options.
Definitely looking forward to seeing Root/TWRP/LineageOS being able to have on the Fire HD 10 9th gen. (2019, aka maverick)
Since xyz doesn't have the time and intereset to do that I hope someone else will have the passion to do that in the near future.

So you want someone else to experiment with unproven methods that you read about in some corner of the internet. Gotcha.
(BTW - OEM unlock has absolutely nothing do to with the methodologies employed by KingRoot which itself is totally ineffective against FireOS v6/7)
The only info i can give you according to the "OEM Unlock" option in the Developer Options is the following:
After trying to enable "OEM Unlock" a Popup shows with the following content:
"Allow OEM unlocking?
WARNING: Device protection features will not work on this device while this setting is turned on".
But no matter how many times I click on the "Enable" button the "OEM unlock" option doesn't stay activated in the developer options menu.
Im on Fire OS 7.3.1.1 (Build Number 001754924060)

Hello everyone. I am a kindle fire hdx user from China. We all waited your root method and turned out that we rooted first.
The method is very simple.
1. Install the attached software in your compurter, connect your device .(be sure you installed driver)The software will connect your device.
2. Click the low right button. Your device will be rebooted in five seconds. Root completed.

Current version: 13.3.1.0. At first it is necessary to include in settings Enable ADB, then to install adb drivers.
Seems sketchy. So seeing as you only have a few posts...it seems you just joined XDA developers. And you have a root tool but you cannot tell us more about it. I mean if it works then GREAT but most people would want to know what exactly it is that they are downloading..just saying. don't be offended.

This kind of reminds me of the whole fiasco with Kango root, which was secretly sending peoples IMEI numbers to a server in China, even though the dev claimed to be from Canada. It was a very easy to use program to root many different phones but was eventually pulled from XDA because of security concerns. It was/is sending 'sensitive' data without encrypting it and then also sent the IMEI as well. It also connected to the internet to download 'drivers' so a virus scan was not of much use for Kango Root. That is a completely separate program which was posted by a different XDA member.
Just to be clear... I am not at all inferring the original poster has malicious intent or has posted a malicious tool. I am merely explaining why some would view it with such skepticism especially in light of previous events. I don't yet own a Kindle Fire HDX, so, I don't have to make the difficult choice of choosing which way to root the device. Virus Total reports the files as being clean, but, that does not always mean it is safe, especially if something is downloaded once the file has been executed.
If you could shed some additional light on the tool it would likely help to put a lot of people's minds at ease.

Yeah that's also the reason why I decided not to download it, I'll just wait till someone @ XDA finds a way to root the device. It's not like we'll die because our device isn't rooted for x weeks/months.

If you have an unlocked boot loader see what I say at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55709585. If you don't I think you'll be waiting for a while - someone needs to find an exploit and write the app/code needed to exploit it. This has become increasingly hard as Android has become more secure - before Towelroot AFAIK the Z1/Z2 was not rootable for a long time. You'd probably be waiting a similar length of time for the next big root exploit.

Well I know people at Sony and long story short: if you want root unlock the boot loader. Its as simple as that. You have to understand that while a root exploit looks nice to tinkerers its also a serious security issue which must be fixed - that is why many root solutions also patch the exploit they use after using it.
Does unlocking the bootloader require wiping the phone? I know this is required on the nexus phones. If it requires wipe then its the very first thing I'm doing once I get the phone out of the box.

I'm aware of this ... but on the one hand being one of the few if only manufacturers to provide official unlocking for the bootloaders (with the obvious intention of spurring development etc), but on the other actively closing non-simple (i.e. ones requiring a dedicated program) root 'exploits' would seem a little at odds. Is it really that black and white? You'd think it might be in their interests to provide an official complex / secure rooting method.

Your statements contradict themselves. Rooting without unlocking the bootloader needs a security flaw. How can any method which leaves a security hole be secure?
Bootloader unlocking gets around this by letting you control the boot partition of the device so you can disable the "security barrier" that android provides. This is a choice you are explicitly making which is why it is the only "secure" way to root.

Also vroot during the root attempt installs 2 apps on your phone and who knows what it installs on Windows without running a regmon, if you do decide to try it make sure you uninstall the 2 chinese apps when your done trying. Also like I mentioned above I would highly not to install vroot or Kingo on your daily driver windows machine. Leave the testing to people who have virtual machines they can install these apps on.
I have used vroot and kingo in the past to successfully root so I know they do/can work, they just haven't been updated yet to work on the Droid Turbo. Hopefully they will.

Developer Option Allowing the bootloader to be unlocked
I just picked up the zmax pro tonight. I was going through making changes to the settings as I always do with a new phone and enabled the "Developer Options". As I was scrolling down I came across an option labeled " OEM Unlocking: Allow the bootloader to be unlocked". Well of course I enabled it.
Now from the knowledge I have about rooting, you have to have the bootloader unlocked to root. So by enabling the OEM Unlock are you just allowing the bootloader to be unlocked or are you unlocking the bootloader?
I look forward to hearing back.

You are just allowing the bootloader to be unlocked . As it said. To unlock the bootloader, you need the help of the genius hackers here. Unfortunately, like one of the posters here said our phone is unpopular which I say again, I don't know why, this is a good phone for me.
But then again, I really don't see the point of rooting any phone anymore, new phones already have all the things you want to put on your phones and why you root them right?
If I ever root my phone though, I definitely will install xposed. I like that they have repositories remind me of kodi, which is the best hack of em all. Is exposed made by kodi people?
Twrp is ready for this device but there is some work left...

Is there a way over adb maybe? I don't need a lockscreen.
Do you have root? With root there is a way.
I don't. I posted this question in the same forum where they discuss removing system apps over adb but it got moved here. I thought the same method could be used for the lockscreen.
Has there been any update to this? is it possible?

Not without root, as far as I know. DragonFire1024 appears to be making progress from the looks of the "Root progress for Fire HD 8" discussion, though.
Ok
