S10+ Beta and 25W Charger - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

So I have a 25w charger from and S10 5g. I have used it to charge my S10+ running Android beta 2 and I have seen a huge difference in my charge times. I have it on my regular charger with 32% and the screen said 1 hour and 38 minutes left to charge.
I switched to the 25w charger and it said the phone will be finished in 58 minutes. I know this doesn't prove anything but I wondered if anyone else has tried this.

Is your regular charger from Samsung as well? Some third party wireless chargers aren't compatible with even the modest wireless fast charge speed the S10+ is capable of and only charge at 5W.
If your regular S10+ charger is compatible with the Samsung Fast Charge standard it shouldn't be difficult for you to figure out if the 25W charger is actually charging more quickly or not.
Before buying the S10+ I had an Xiaomi MI 9 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The slower wireless charging speed on the S10+ was very noticeable.

[Q] Charging

Hey all, haven't been able to find an answer for this. So I'll open a new thread. Now the question. The phone seems to take a long time to charge. Is it possible for me to use my Note 4's quick charger or can anyone recomend a faster charger for this phone? Charging it with Note 4's 2a charger wont damage the battery? Thank you.
I use a 2.1 out and it charges in about an hour and a half
Charging isn't fast and it seems that if the phone gets warm, it draws less power then too - so on a warm day, it can feel like it's taking years.
Would have been nice to have had wireless charging support and/or turbo charging, but alas not.

Doesn't the phone support quick charging? But Huawei haven't bundled the appropriate charger?
Doesn't appear to. I've got a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 adapter and it doesn't seem any faster, nor say fast charging.
There's a quirk, when the battery shows 100% it actually still keep charging for another 30 minutes. All tests showed that it took 3hours+ to fully charge it. So quick charge my ass.
So just to update, I have tried charging it with note 4's fast charger and it charges the phone from 20 to 100% in about an hour and a half. Which imo isn't that bad. With the included charger, it took me around 2 and a half hours... Huawei really should have included a charger with higher amp, 1 is way to low.

It's sadly very common for phones to ship with poor chargers (1A and even lower), but then again - some phones these days come with NO charging adapter, assuming you'll have a ton of them anyway.
I use a 2.1A 5V charger, but I've tried the faster ones (that can output 9V) and it doesn't speed things up, so while it can charge faster with a better PSU, it won't ever charge as quick as many other flagships. Mind you, has the G4 been given full support yet? Likewise, the Z3 is down as supporting Quick Charge 2.0 on Qualcomm's website, but then turns out to be only some variants. Makes me wonder if the Z3+ supports it in every guise.
Not sure what the reasoning is for devices that could support faster charging not actually allowing it, especially if the manufacturer could profit from selling faster chargers separately.

I read an article about Huawei declining fast-charge for "battery-purposes" so it can have a longer life cycle. But i think Huawei made an exception about the Huawei Honor 7.
I had an Samsung before and never had problems with fast-charging whatsoever.
My P8 was full in about 2 hours with an 2.1 A charger, while my Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 took 1,5 hours.
the screenshoot took from Huawei P8 & P8 Max Launching Event 2015 said that p8 has quick charge at min 21.30 but they didnt talk about that in the event

Here's a quick charger for the Huawei P8 : http://www.amazon.com/Adaptive-Charger-Charging-voltages-charging/dp/9713256832
I did not buy it, but it says it charges at 9V 2.1A

Now i charge with stock from 3%to100% in about 2.5 h and the phone didn't tell me to remove charger for more half ahour!!

I dont know, its 9V 2.1A, so it is quick charge. But i dont know if it is for MAX. I can charge fast. maybe 1.5h/2h?

Charging speed

To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the Huawei MediaPad M5 can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.

Hi
Last week i bought an huawei M5 wifi only Version here in Germany from amazon. Its 32GB 4gb ram wifi only Version (non pro).
I noticed very slow charging speed with the provided quick charge power supply (huawai HW - 059200EHQ). From 10% batttery he tells me 4:29 minutes and with other chargers both quick charge ajd normal non huawai it shows 5:29 hours so 1 hour more.
Can anyone confirm the charging time because the m5 pro charges this in 2:10 minutes.
Disappointed that it does not have Qualcomm QC standard but Huawei's own FCP standard.

I have non pro 10.8" 64GB M5, when I'm connecting to charger, it says 4 or 5 hours, but 10-15 minutes later it says 2:15-2:30 hours... and usually it will be 100% within 150 minutes. So its charging is really fast - actually I can't see faster yet...
I don't know of estimated charging times but charging itself with the oficial power supply is really fast.

My M5 10 Pro will arrive soon, thanks for the info.
Might get the charger as the device doesn't support QC3...
An observation.
While using and charging my 8.4 M5 from a powerbank with type c port, and type c to type c cable I notice that the powerbank only maintains the charge.
This being 5v 3 amp so 15 watts.
The same powerbank has QC3 usb ports and when I use a USB to type c cable, the powerbank on the lcd display indicates 9v 2 amp, so 18 Watts, so actually charges the M5 slowly when also being used, which I have observed.
It therefore supports QC2, being 9v 2 amp, which to be fair, Huawei says it supports 9v 2 amp, even though they don't mention QC2.

I tried a couple of stock qc2 charger like Samsung and etc with didnt work.
Tried my Aukey QC3 charger too and same no fast charging.
All are measure by electrical measurement device.
Huawei makes its own SuperCharge capable powerbank, and it doesn't break the bank.
https://www.tvc-mall.com/details/hu...or-huawei-p10-mate-9-black-sku101705094a.html
^ I ordered from that site, and received it.
As my M5 came from Amazon Germany and I'm in the UK, I haven't had the opportunity to try the standard charger that came with it having the euro pins. Seeing as I'm currently on holiday in Greece, I bought my euro charger so will try it charging my powerbank. The powerbank will report the input voltage and current from the charger...
Edit: The supplied Huawei charger says quick charger on the side, and also lists 9v 2a output. Using it to charge my powerbank, it indicates a 9v 2a input.
So in my case all my QC2, and the included charger, all output 9v 2a correctly.

I too can confirm Aukey QC3 will not fast charge the M5. Nor will a 5V3A USB C to C method mentioned by stag74. HOWEVER it does work with an unbranded QC3 charger from Gearbest, so go figure.
It appears that what will or will not work with Huawei FCP is kind of a gamble except with their own or clearly marked FCP chargers.

The supplied charger can charge items that are QC2/3 at fast speed. However the reverse cannot be said for the M5. So instead of just bringing a dual port QC charger on holiday, we will need to bring the Huawei charger as well to quickly charge everything.
My wattage gauge broke
I ordered one and will receive it in a few days and will compare
It's fast. 20% to 70% in one hour.
20% to 93% in 1 and a half hour.
Great charging speed for a tablet.
10.8 wifi variant.
With the in box charger it charges the M5 64gb 10.8 100% in around 1½ hour, thats really good for a tablet in my opinion.
I tried my Mate 20X super charger, but it only charge it the normal slow speed, i was hoping for fast charge, but no

Has anyone found a cheap charger that will do both FCP for my M5 and also QC 2 or 3 for my LG V35? What about all the various smart voltage chargers like Ankers power port, etc? Shouldn't they detect the subtle difference bt FCP and QC and supply what the device wants to fast charge?
If I recall correctly, looking and specs on the individual chargers was something like 9v/2a for FCP Huawei charger and 9v/1.8a for the QC charger for my LG V35, which my M5 won't accept for fast charging.

I use this charger, does M5 Fast Charge just fine while being a QC3 charger, so should do both. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01GFDSO1M
Car dual quick charger
I have been using this Aukey dual port QC 3.0 charger and can verify that it fast charges both the M5 8.4 tablet and my Samsung Note 8 simultaneously. I drive a truck and use the M5 tablet as a GPS unit with SmartTruckRoute. The screen is on medium brightness for 10 to 14 hours a day and never falls below 100% while plugged in. I take it off of the charger to watch Netflix and YouTube videos while eating or while in the sleeper and it shows fast charging when I plug it back in.

I have done some testing.
With QC 2.0 (my old Motorola Turbo charge 15) I charge phone from 20% to 90% with rate 65%/hour (1 hour and 10 minutes time)
With QC 3.0 (charger and cable from original Chinese packaging) I charge phone form 30% to 87% with rate 95%/hour (40 minutes)
I think this scenario is common for most users when they need to charge phone in hurry.
Later I will add also charging rate for quick wireless charger included in box and maybe also some QC 4.0+ if I get my hands on some.
In my case, I bought a PD3.0 charger from Aukey and my Mi Mix 3 is charging from 0% to 100% in 1h08 !
In fact after a few research I found that Power Delivery Technology is compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge because Quick charge is working with Power Delivery and add a few security technology, but power delivery already have some.
Nevermind, I tested it and indeed My PD3.0 charger (max 15V and 3A) with a anker cable wich support up to 5A is working faster than the QC3 charger !
I suppose a QC4.0 should be better, but for now I think PD3.0 is the best solution !
I second @romain1672...I've converted all my chargers to USB-PD since I've divested from non-USB-C devices and my Mi Mix 3 flies with them.
I believe the wireless charging is relatively slow, think one review said three hours for full charge? But that's expected to be honest.
I've heard it said that slow charging is better for battery life, so in effect, wouldn't the wireless charger be better than cabled, if you're not pressed for time?
It took me exactly 1h45 to charge from 17% to 100% with the wireless charger. It's pretty fast for a wireless charger, but the only issue is that it heats lot of more than wired, and i read somewhere that heat isn't good for battery health.
Hi guys, I just bought the Razer Phone charger (it's the only one I could get quickly with Quick Charge 4.0+ in the UK). Not the most scientific of tests, but it went from 30% to 87% in 30 mins. I tested from 30% again today with a Quick Charge 3 charger and in 30 minutes it made it to 80%.
Sorry I didn't run from 0-100%, I can probably test that more easily this weekend if people are interested?
Fast enough that for the first time since owning a smart phone I never have to think about looking for a charge, even when travelling.
Does anyone know of any wireless chargers/charging stands that charge the mix 3 as fast as the included one? I've tried a couple I had with previous phones and they just charge so much slower
This charger is becoming annoying.
I place my phone on the puck by my bed. Sometimes, before falling asleep, I hear the sound indicating charge stopping.
Then, in the morning I find my phone has moved off the puck. And it is not me! The phone slips away if not perfectly aligned centrally on the puck. It is not surprising as the induction forces between the puck and phone will be opposing but the manufacturer should have spotted this and made the puck/phone with more friction between them.

Bro, I use my brothers Samsung Wireless Charger "EP-NG930" from his S8. Google it to see it. I can't post a pic of it since I leave it in the office but underneath it is rated at 9V 1.67A (15W)
I must say it charges pretty much the same, if not, faster than the included one since it has a built-in noiseless fan behind the coils

This phone charges pretty fast! Around 1h 35min from 0 to 100% (I think, will test that later). I'm using the 30w charger.
2 hours with 18W
1 hour 40 mins with 25w charger...
Any one used some charger with 45/50w? ;D
I want to know how much faster this smart can charge lol.i bought the 30w charger and i think is very fast a great smart too
I'm having serious issues with 3 of my Samsung 15W chargers. Never had a problem with LG G6, Samsung S6, S7, S9 and the odd device here and there while on Rog Phone 2 it will quick charge 1/20 times with it.
And believe me. You don't want to charge with the regular 5V charger mode. It will take hours upon hours.
Maybe it has something to do with the latest OTA.
If some1 can test 50 / 65 w charger and post the results will be awsome!

does 25w charger shows super fast charging on phone

hello, I bought s10 plus from a friend and didnt get the original charger with it
now I was planning to buy a separate 25 watt charger for my phone
how can I check if the charger is real 25 watt ?
like normal fast charger shows fast charging on screen but does the 25 watt charger show super fast charging ?
yes or no or any other way to check ??
please help
no ... it will not show super fast charging the internal h/w of the S10+ was not designed for 25W ONLY the S10 5G model supports it and if you do plug it in, it will show you normal charging
oh ok, so the normal s10 plus just charge upto 18 watts then ??
