*job.delay and *job.deadline wakelock problem - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

hello
after upgraded from 9.0.15 to 9.0.17 i noticed i having some issues with battery drain, using BBS and it shows the problem come from Alarm - android- *job.delay and *job.deadline, and it take more than 200+ times wakelock per hour , for the night it consumed about 10% battery without wifi and data connection
im already tried to search oneplus and xda forum but seems no solution
also tried wipe system, wipe cache, wipe date, even used MSM tools but the problem is still the same.
hope someone can help me !! Cheers

Those wakelocks are related to Doze, some app (or apps) are waking your device when it tries to enter in Doze mode.

Android OS Wakelock killing the battery!

Hey guys,
I've been having an S6 Edge+ for a couple of days already but there seems to be an issue with the ROM. I'm getting a lot of battery drain from the "Android OS" and I'm losing up to 5% - 7% per hour in standby.... I have even re-flashed the entire ROM and factory reset two times... still the same.
I've disabled Google's Location History and Google Now but this did not help...
My previous Galaxy S6 was also running the latest ROM but there were no such problems...
Has anybody else experienced such an issue and do you have any ideas?

Check if any sync is stuck in loop, sometimes this kills battery very easily. If all else fails check with some app like GSam.

Unfortunately GSam does not produce too detailed information without Root access and it only says Android System and lists all the services that are under it...
The interesting part is that after several re-flashes with the same firmware, the wakelock disappeared...
Now I get 76% to 80% deep sleep...
Go figure... Probably some stuck sync as you mentioned...

Android OS Wakelock killing the battery! ...... solved
OK, im not too savvy with settings and systems, just sharing what i have been through. I too had a major battery drain problem on my S6 Edge+ , giving me abt 8-10hrs of use after a full charge. Even during the nights with everything off and power saving enabled i would lose abt 50-60% battery over 8 hours. ..... caused by Android OS ....... it would keep the screen awake for hours even with the screen off .... ( dont know how that worked) ..... tried a factory reset but didnt help. Then rooted the phone and downloaded wakelock detector and installed it as a system app. Installed greenify and doze ..... last night lost 4% over 11hours with wifi and 4g off and power saving enabled which is a drastic improvement. Facing one little problem that images do not get downloaded (automatically or manually) in whatsapp with wifi in use. Will use the cell for a few days and post again abt how the battery is holding up and if there is any other performance issues.
If you want to save battery, try this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
It show all RAM usage of each app, you can disable any app in Bloatware (samsung default app) list to save power
This app run WITHOUT ROOT

Wakelocks on 6.0.1

I'm experiencing a lot of wakelocks on 6.0.1
It's mostly happlens when I disable WiFi and and leave the phone over the night.
The problem is gone only after a restart, and will ocure again if I disable WiFi.
Anyone with similar problem and most importantly - solution ?
How can I find what cause this wakelocks?
(I'm not rooted)
if you are not rooted then how did you find that your device is suffering from wakelocks ?
use gsam battery app to monitor wakelocks.

On the battery page, when I click on graph it shows the detailed graph when the screen was on, when wifi was on, etc. When I noticed fast battery drain I can see that the "awake" graph is continious meaning that device stays awake all the time, even all apps was closed and wifi, and data was disabled.

Reset moto display (clear data and cache) and use the new battery optimization on all your apps. And for extra, use greenify which can also show you the apps that are running in the background and is able to aggressive doze your device.
Could also be an app that screams for an internet connection since it only happens when you disable WiFi.

boot into safe mode, leave the phone for a few hours and see if the wakelocks are still there. if not then it is caused by some apps.

Its part of the moto app. Go to settings>app>moto>storage and clear data and cache. Mine was also giving a lot of wakelocks first few days when it was new, because of moto display had a bug waking up the device every few minutes. I did a factory reset and everything was solved.

OK, I did hard reset as well, several times, from the menu and form the storck recovery - BUT the wakelocks still present
it happens mostly when I turn off wifi
any suggestions?
I'm unrooted, just stock 6.0.1 nothing hacked or whatsoever.
Reading this thread it's not actually drians your battery, but it's a bug in the battery statistics showing your wifi was on. Read this thread for more info.

mate 8 doesn't want to go in doze mode.

I'm getting bad battery drain during standby, so I checked the battery stats with GSam monitoring and it is showing the device doesn't go in device mode.
Stats was taken after 5 hours
Deep Sleep 0s
Doze time 0s
It is already a clean install b180 rom so what could be the cause?

The same problem here, I used B180 and B182 on my Mate 8 stock AL-10 chinese. I tried many hard resets and many attempts to configure it by paying attention in what to install and the way to do it, but nothing changed. My Mate is always active as reported on its battery graphic and by GSam monitoring too (during all day it went into deep sleep only for 2,5 minutes and never into Doze).
What's the problem and how can I fix it?
Have u been able to fix it, Bissa?
Thanks in advance for all kinds of help

Today I tried that and for now it has been looking like working, because into battery graphic and info I noticed what drained mostly my battery was Android OS. I started by removing my Google account, then I went to settings / App and there I clicked on menu / view all system processes. After that I went into every Google app (Google now, Contacts, Contacts sync, Calendar, Gmail, Google Play services, Google Play Store, Google Services Framework, Google text to speech) and inside the menu "Memory" I selected to delete all data. After that I restarted my Mate 8 and did a wipe cache then after reboot I set my google account and voilĂ  my Gmail notifications work fine and now battery drain seems to have gone away cause Android OS eats the right and System goes to deep sleep correctly.
I hope to be useful for someone else

A few weeks after, does it still work as it should, or did the issue came back ?
I just can't get rid of this issue... I rooted my phone, and installed BBS, but it can't identify which app is keeping the phone from entering deep sleep... This night, I've had 12h of Awake (screen off), but the first wakelock in Partial Wakelocks is 12 minutes long... It drives me crazy !

Doze-Wakelock

Better Battery Stats shows Doze-Wakelock as my worst offender of Kernel wakelocks at 75% with the next offender, power manager service at a measly 13%. I have reset, reflashed, uninstalled, reinstalled, wiped cache, wiped dalvik, yet the wakelock persists and I can not find anything about it on any thread. I currently use greenify, power nap, amplify, and force doze on Stang5.0litre rom. However I have noticed the wakelock on Echoe and stock rom. It persists with Force Doze off (I don't use Greenify's Aggresive doze.) If anyone has any info on this wakelock, please inform me.

I'm also on the Stang rom and i just noticed it after gsam showed my phone being held awake for over an hour during 2 and a half hours of standby. Seemed to start when i turned on the AOD but i can't be sure.

Do you use any if the apps I mentioned above. Ive noticed the wakelock isnt as prominent if the phone is left stationary. So I feel as though it might be greenify or force doze trying to force doze, but android system noticing the motion and not letting it do so, creating a loop and constant conflict. But as I said i can not find anything about this on xda or Google.

Turned the aod off this morning. Definitely the culprit. However noticed 4 random reboots while the phone was inactive. The problem goes away when i turn aod back on. Currently investigating this new problem.
Freezing always on display in titanium Backup after disabling it fixed the random reboot issue. Currently enjoying no doze-wakelock in bbs with a great increase of deep sleep time.
The only one i use is greenify.

Huge battery drain!

Hi! Im running oos 4.5.8 with ElementalX kernel. The past few days im getting a huge battery drain while idle. (30 % overnight WITH airplane mode). I installed betterbatterystats but I dont really understand what I should be looking for. Could anyone explain what I should be looking for, or maybe take a look at these logs from the app?
(uploading on dropbox because file sizes where too big). Thanks in advance!

It's most likely your WiFi. I'm sure you left WiFi on during airplane mode right? At least that's the culprit for me. The only workaround until Oneplus fixes the WiFi idle drain is to either manually turn off wifi everytime you don't use it or change WiFi Settings of "Keep WiFi on during sleep" from "Always" to Never (or "Only when plugged in" also works).

Ah, okay, interesting.
Did you try deleting cache/wipe dalvik in recovery? It doesn't delete any of your apps or data, only a temporary cache. People here on xda said after updating the OS battery drain sometimes happens, but deleting the cache/dalvik in recovery solved the issue.
Otherwise, you could install Wakelock Detector Lite (not root, because the root application is broken for now) and check what's waking and draining your device exactly. But anyway I'd firstly delete the cache.

Hi
I am too facing the same issue dont know why. Though my SOT is good around 6 to 7 hrs but phone in idle mode draining like hell. I kept my phone wifi on though i can only see it used around 50 mah the whole night. I have oneplus 3T too that is still working amazingly with decrease from 100 to only 94 percent though oneplus 5 decresed from 100 to 75 percent in idle mode with same settings .
I have already deleted cache memory

Don't trust the inbuilt battery stats. Turn WiFi off and see if the phone sleeps/enters doze as it should.
Thanks for auggeations i am ginna try this too but still i am unable to understand the scenerio aa i had my wifi on for oneplua 3T too but still the battery drainage in it was nill.

Mate, I'm no developer but it's understandable that 3T and 5 are different phones, have different hardware and OS. The one for OP5 is just not optimised yet. Reportedly the devs are working on OOS 4.6 that is supposed to address the WiFi drain problem.
@ipredatorv it seems to have worked for me, got only 3 % drain, thanks for the tip

You're welcome. After the upcoming 4.6 update we can try to revert to WiFi always on (because it really shouldn't drain like that), but until then this workaround fixes it.
