Wired tethering

Hi
Is there any way to get wired tethering with this device?
Thanks
The 'PDANET' app in the market will allow you to do so.

[Q] Nexus 4 on win8 - doesn't work!!

Hello.
I just connected my Google Nexus 4 to Win8, and I can't get it to work.
I can't access to the Nexus, I don't see the device, though it does appear on the devices, but I can't get into it on windows explorer.
I even installed a driver (though I know I shouldn't have had done that) and still - nothing.
Help?
Try again, because I am on wins 8....no issues at all.
amazing

You really think that now that you've told me to try again cause you have no issues so everything works suddenly?
WDF?
try enabling development mode if it isn't already. I've seen sometimes it won't let you browse the directory without it on
What do you mean? where?

It doesn't report as a drive. The nexus uses MTP for connection. Not UMS like older android phones.
It will show up as a device. Just click there to open in explorer.

From the start menu just type "computer"
Then, scroll down and double click Nexus 4.
does your device manager recognize it. should show under Android Device - Google Nexus 4 ADB Interface
work fine for me, ensure you driver installed successful.
you need to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement :
How to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 8:
From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
Click ‘More PC Settings’.
Click ‘General’.
Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’.
Wait a bit.
Click ‘Troubleshoot’.
Click ‘Advanced Options’
Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’
Click Restart.
I think I had a similar problem, I had to disable USB debugging in the phones settings for it to work.

I think he was getting at the fact that it's not Win 8's fault.
I'm also on Win 8 and 3 PCs and it works on them all with no problems.
You should be a bit nicer to people if you expect any help. Surprised these other people even bothered responding to you.

Removing recommended shortcuts?

How do we go about removing the short cuts upon connecting headphones. On my S3 it used to be a option on accessories now it's gone.

Or if you are not rooted, disable notifications for the page buddy service using the application manager.

Either one of these works. Samsung had to go and remove the setting from the accessories setting.

weird popup when I push power button

Hi:
I am running 4.4.2, which is rooted. When I push the power button to turn on the screen, I get a pop-up that says "This test version is too old, please update". Does anyone know what is going on? It does not seem to hurt anything.
Thanks.
Did you Google the message?
