Or if you are not rooted, disable notifications for the page buddy service using the application manager.

Either one of these works. Samsung had to go and remove the setting from the accessories setting.

G+ & Chrome disabling?

Sorry in case this has been asked before. Could you please confirm that I can disable Google+ and Chrome apps from settings without rooting?
I haven't bought N4 yet?

Yes, just go to manage apps, all apps, then find the ones you want to disable. Click on them and tap the disable button. That's it. They'll stay disabled throughout reboots and everything.

The user will have to remove it as the default launcher. Then you can call finish in the Activity.

Hm, ok.
One thing that came to my mind: Does it install itself as a device administrator? That might do what you want.

There is an app you can install which will allow you to accomplish freezing an application. Check out the following link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ramdroid.appquarantine&hl=en
Hope this helps!
Thanks! But that requires root

Sorry, it's early and I cannot sleep. You are correct, this application requires a device root. To my knowledge, there is no way to freeze or remove an app which has the "disabled" button greyed out without rooting. Maybe someone with more informative knowledge can assist.
If you go to [Settings] > [General] tab > [Application manager] > [All] tab,
you will see all apps in your device. Press anyone. You will find a [Turn off] button which freeze that app.
Please note that some apps cannot be frozen without root. The [Turn off] button will be locked.
But if you rooted your device you can use other application manager apps available on Google Play store to freeze these system apps.
Here are a topic that list all apps that can be frozen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470862
Can't be done without Root access. They're System-apps (even if they are completely pointless.) and thus without Root access you do not have access to modify them.
That said, I could and have disable S Health without root.
Evernote, My Magazine, Samsung Hubs and other such random nonsense I will never use, however....
Okay... Guess I have confirmed...
Sheath is disabled without root on my device too...

[Q] trying to freeze CIQ on LG G2 AT&T

I had successfully rooted my phone last night. I was using my titanium back up pro in freezing a lot of the AT&T bloatware. But I cannot seem to find where is the CIQ located. Do anyone knows the name, extension, or what exact field under that I will need to freeze?
I search numerous times on the forums and everywhere and I cannot locate that information of exact name. The CIQ will say something about com.ciq blah blah but on the list of titanium it is not there for me to freeze. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
I use system tuner free. Go into system details and uncheck the 7 carrier iq files.

Settings -> General tab -> Apps -> Running tab -> Android System, there is IQ Agent Service running
Thank you for the response.
Does system tuner permanently kill it like TiBackup? I want something I will permanently freeze it or uninstall it. When I went to google play, it stated that program is already outdated. I still try to download it. They have so many options. Can you walk me thru on which option I will pick under it and steps locating it?
As for others do you have any TiBackup instructions to share on where to locate and freeze? I have an older version TiBackup. Would that be the reason not seeing the CiQ? Any screenshots would be more than welcome.
Thanks!

Yes system tuner will keep it disabled unless you remove the app.

Found all 7 thank you!! Took me a while to figure out. It is System>Android System> (scattered CIQ in different categories).
I wonder why TB cannot see this part.

OK google setup not working

I am not able to enable "Ok google" always on. Its greyed out. Tapping doesn't do anything on it.

Same here, I heard it's a Samsung lollipop bug
OK Google working
I posted this in another thread, but here (This is for the Sprint Note 4 on LP)
So, I got mine to work in the most odd way possible
When I updated to LP, I went OTA. I then decided to do a system wipe of LP and start over, so I did a titanium backup of all system apps and data
When I restored my system apps, I chose NOT to restore the data. This is when I noticed the OK Google was grayed out (I remember before this it was working in LP)
So what I did was this:
I went into titanium backup, selected "restore all system data", I then chose to deselect all. Once they are all unchecked ONLY check the restore for Google Play Services 6.x.xxxxx
It will restore, once it does this it may say that GPS crashed, you can ignore it. Go ahead and reboot the system and VIOLA! If you now go into google settings from the app draw and to the now, the always on option is available to be turned on
I can not believe it worked, I figured I would try it since I already had a nandroid of LP.
PS: Use at own risk, results may differ, if you have TWRP, MAKE A NANDROID. But like I said, it worked perfect for me!

Personally, I just disabled it using Settings -> Application Manager and rebooted, and was able to turn it on. It's stayed on ever since, although it doesn't work for me when the screen is off...
