But this hasn't been tested and I can't find this anywhere.
From what I can tell, the SM-G975F has all the LTE bands that Verizon uses. Just not CDMA.
I have a OnePlus 6T, and to make it work on Verizon, the account/SIM for my number/phone it set by VZW to CDMA-Less mode. Takes them like 5 minutes and reboot, done. So I don't use CDMA ever because the OP6T and later don't support it either, but have all the LTE bands.
Has anybody tried putting a CDMA-Less Sim from Verizon that runs a setup like the OP6T/7/7 Pro in a Smsung SM-975F phone? Tempted to just buy a phone since I can't find anybody/know anyone locally with the 975F, and pop the sim in it and see what happens.
Here are the specs...all I can tell is besides the CDMA missing, it actually has all and more of the bands needed for Verizon LTE Only mode. Same as the OnePlus 6T.

So, either people believe this won't work and tried and and I'm just another dumb user...or nobody cares. Oh well, guess I will buy one and give it a whirl..no reason this won't work...my OP6T does and it doesn't support CDMA. I plan on ditching Verizon in 4 months anyway, worse case I just wait and have a phone to move to on TMo/ATT etc...so really not out anything here. haha..

I'm curious about this as well. Please let me know if you get it to work. Where will you buy your 975F?
I got a g975f for sale
The plan was to buy one off Swappa...they always have 975F/DS on there...but they are pretty pricey. Considering I can buy a brand new OP7T for the same price. But, the screen/cameras are pretty much top notch on the S10+ in comparison...soooooo.
Still haven't bought one, just waiting for the right one to come up. There are also plenty on eBay, but they tend to be a bit pricier there than Swappa.
Beta 4 came out today on firmware.science

Why not buy one from a seller on ebay that offers free returns, do the thing, then send back? As long as you're confident that you'll be able to return to stock if anything goes wrong, of course.
Verizon is discontinuing their CDMA service as of January 1st. It will continue to work for current customers until they replace their phones but Verizon won't activate a new CDMA device or add a new CDMA line after January 1st.
Since Verizon already offers GSM service and has been offering it for the past couple years trying to figure out if a phone will work with Verizon's CDMA service is pointless.

How about you dont suggest people doing that and you dont do it. The people who sell on Ebay dont need to look at XDA as a bunch of losers who waste people's time and money. GROW UP and learn its not ok to use people.

Then why does anybody offer returns in this World?
Because they make so much money on the markup and bake it into the price to consumers.
I like the idea. Pretty sure it will work anyway, has all the bands.

Looking at the Specs for the 4 versions and if you live in North America and use GSM the T889 seems to be your best choice. You get all North American HSPA bands and DC-HSPA 42Mbps not just HSPA 21Mbps as well as North American 700/1700 LTE.
Looking at the AT&T variant i317 seems we are getting the shaft. You get quad band HSPA only and 2 extra LTE bands you'd never use unless you travel a lot off the continent. My how quickly AT&T put the failed merger behind them.
There are 4 versions of Note:
1. International (+LTE): SGH-7100 / SGH -7105
2. SGH-i317 : ATT+(Rogers+Bell + Telus): HSPA 850/900/1900/2100, LTE: 700/850/1700/1900
3. SCH-i605 : CDMA + LTE 700
4. SGH-T889 : T-Mobile+Mobilicity+Wind : HSPA: 850/900/1700/1900/2100, LTE: 700, 1700
So why does T-Mobile's get DC-HSPA and not the other 2 GSM variants?
So do you know how to unlock the sim slot on this. i use simple mobile and straight talk but I want the t-mobile version because it has hspa+42 and the others dont which I find to be rather stupid. But Simple said I need to unlock it even though it is a t-mo hone and they use their network. Will T-mo unlock it for me if I call them since I am buying it out right.

Can't help you there friend, I'm in Canada. I know T-Mobile used to be pretty good about unlocking devices bought outright but not sure if policies changed. A T-Mobile member should be able to answer that question though.
I've been out of the phone game for awhile, so i'm a little confused. I'm currently on ATT, and as a matter of course, I would pick up there's, but if it doesn't have LTE in the states (I have ATT LTE in my area), then that's just one more reason to switch to T-mobile.
I'm already considering switching due to the cheaper plan and the ability to pick up the phone on a payment plan, which is VERY attractive to me and my current financial situation.
So,, Explain this to me like i'm five.. what exactly is the problem with the ATT Note 2?
nothing if you have AT&T. The t-mobile one only has an advantage if you use it as an unlocked device on pre-paid carriers like straight talk or simple mobile or solavei. The main difference is that if you use a t-mobile prepaid carrier like simple mobile and get the international note 2 it will be edge/hspa+21 onlyin refarmed, if you get ATT it is edge only unless you live in a 1900 re farmed market then it will only do hsap+21, if you get the t-mobile variant it is hspa+42 and has not active lte for when and if prepaid carriers get access to t-mobile lte when it comes online next year. The other thing is the t-mobile variant is a penta band phone which means it will run at full hspa+ data speed on any carrier. ATT or t-mo.

Ah, so since I have ATT in a LTE area (Phoenix), i'll get LTE (42?) on my phone, and no issues unless I decide I want to switch to a pre-paid carrier? But if I did get the T-mobile version of the phone, I could switch it around and I have more options as far as speed goes. Sound approximately correct?
What if I bought the phone from T-mo and switched it to AT&T? Is that even possible and would it have any pros or cons? (Buying full-price phone from T-mobile on their payment plan, using it on AT&T until my contract was up in Feb, then switching the phone to T-mobile with the cheaper plan?

It has LTE, but the HSPA bands are limited to 21mbps vs the 42 mbps HSPA of the T-Mobile variant (which works with AT&T's network on both LTE and HSPA).
Essentially, a faster HSPA radio, nothing else changes
Does anyone know if there will be modem problems like the Att i717 had when switching to tmobile? We waited a long time for a decent working modem which was a hacked blaze modem that worked the best with limited upload speeds, but great download speeds.
Or will the tmobile variant work like the galaxy nexus pentaband on Att or tmobile OOB? I'm tempted to get the tmobile, but will wait for the price to drop.
Torn due to accessories that now are not compatible with the new noteII.

Doesn't the T-Mobile one have LTE disabled in the firmware?
I am on AT&T. I bought the TMOB Note II and unlocked it on cellunlocker.net. very easy.
I don't get LTE even though the device specs show LTE.
I tried different APNs but it always goes back to the default one on my micro sim.
Any ideas on how to get LTE are welcome!

As I stated above:
http://www.androidauthority.com/t-mobile-galaxy-note-2-lte-125982/
The Galaxy Note II features a Qualcomm 9215M chipset which provides the hardware capability to support both HSPA+42 and LTE. T-Mobile plans to reach more than 200 million Americans with LTE by the end of 2013. The Galaxy Note II will not automatically access T-Mobile’s LTE network. We will share more information on how and when the Galaxy Note II will support T-Mobile’s upcoming LTE network when the network is available.

I don't know if anyone cares, but I purchased the international version of the Galaxy Note II. I currently am using it on AT&T network and I maintain hspa+ the entire time. I work in Dallas, Texas but live 45 miles away, and I have awesome coverage all the time. The reason I post this is because all of you wanting LTE, should know more facts about it. LTE is nice, but it's a battery hog. Granted 4G speeds are nice, but in practicality, HSPA+ is obviously not as fast, but it's pretty danged fast and my battery life is pretty darned good as well.
If you are going to shell out the money for the phone itself, buy the International version. You can get them for around $660 dollars, and the price is dropping every day. Don't spend the same amount on a Carrier branded, bloatware infested phone. Just buy the unbranded one and you will be quite happy, I guarantee it.

all you have to do is wait like maybe a week or four days, for their system to recognize that you are using the note 2 on their system. then you call them and tell them that you will be going out of the country and they will ask you for your IMEI number and your email. and you will get your unlock code the next day, hope this help you.

You can try this:
1) With phone on, take off back cover and press your SIM card so it releases from the spring. It won't come all the way out as it's blocked by the battery. This seems fine - I didn't bother trying to force it out as I didn't want to break anything...
2) Once you see the message that the SIM card is removed, go to the dialer and dial *#2263#
3) You should see a menu with band selections. The current setting is "Automatic". If you switch to "GSM All", you will be EDGE (2G). If you switch to "WCDMA All", you will be on HSPA+ (3G, though AT&T and others call it 4G) and you will have lte too
4) Press the SIM card back into place until it clicks. For whatever reason the phone will not recognize it until you reboot. Upon reboot you should see your new setting in effect.
Let me know if this works!
So let's clear all of this up. Will the T-Mobile edition work on T-Mobile AND at&t (hspa+) StraightTalk here in the States? Just seemed a bit confusing and that is what I know is my big question. All help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

It's my understanding that the T-Mo Note 2 runs on T-Mo's HSPA+42 network while the international runs on ATT's HSPA+21 network but only on T-Mo's 2G network. T-Mo is currently refarming areas of the country so that the international Note 2 will pick up T-Mo's HSPA+ network. I assume they mean T-Mo's HSPA+42 network.
EDIT: This was from a chat session with a T-Mo rep:
Me: So once the 1900Mhz refarming is complete, does that mean I'd have access to your HSPA+42 speeds?
Mary G: Yes, once the process has been complete, you will have the best service about the calls and most especially the data.
Now, we all know how misinformed reps can be but from what I've been reading, this seems to be legit. So my plan is to get the international Note 2. I get HSPA+21 now, an option for T-Mo HSPA+42 later as I know for a fact my area is currently being refarmed, more developer support, and no bloatware.
If I'm wrong about any of this, please someone let me know.

Will you get TMo HSPA+21 or only on AT&T?
I came back from Europe and installed the sim from my old nexus s into the note 4 and I'm in Canadian roaming. I tried adding the apn settings and I still can't connect to mobilicity. The phone is unlocked and has aws but for 4g. It's the international version. Anyway have any ideas on what I can do? I shelled out so much money and there is no way I'll buy a new phone. Someone told me on another forum that its possible to flash a different band or something.
On the Amazon product page it says
4G FDD LTE B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B17(700), B20(800)
So is the reason calling doesn't work is because mobilicity has the 3g network?
My nexus s is dead so cant use that either. Dont want to either tbh.
EDIT:
The company I am trying to use it with wind/mobilicity have only 3g. But it seems the international version is only compatible with 4g aws. So is there anyway i can bypass this?
Both Newegg and BH Photo will be selling the unlocked US Cellular V20 Model US996. It says it will work on all carriers since the LG site shows the supported bands.
http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-US996-Unlocked-v20-titan
So I guess there should be no problem with it working with Verizon, AT&T , Tmobile, and Sprint?
Also holding out hopes that it can be bootloader unlocked and rooted.
It is missing bands for both Sprint and Verizon...and odds are is not whitelisted to work on Sprint.

If you look at the FCC for the Verizon VS995:
https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=ft0NWPNMdRRxvx6HqFyc8Q%3D%3D&fcc_id=ZNFVS995
Click on RF Exposure Info 1 and open the PDF.
The first page lists these of the V20 models:
VS995, US996, H990T (the VS995 is the Verizon model and the US996 is the Unlocked).
Then look at the supported bands:
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850 824.20-848.80
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 1900 1850.20-1909.80
UMTS 850 826.40-846.60
UMTS 1750 1712.4 - 1752
UMTS 1900 1852.4 - 1907
Cell. CDMA/EVDO 824.70 - 848.3 (This is Verizon CDMA voice and 3G)
PCS CDMA/EVDO 1851.25 - 1908.75 (This is Verizon CDMA voice and 3G)
LTE Band 12 699.7 - 715.3
LTE Band 17 706.5 - 713.5
LTE Band 13 779.5 - 784.5 (Verizon LTE Band)
LTE Band 5 (Cell) 824.7 - 848.3
LTE Band 66 (AWS) 1710.7 - 1779.3
LTE Band 4 (AWS) 1710.7 - 1754.3 (Verizon LTE Band)
LTE Band 25 (PCS) 1850.7 - 1914.3
LTE Band 2 (PCS) 1850.7 - 1909.3 (Verizon LTE Band)
So to me, this shows both the VS995 (Verizon) and US996 Unlocked has all of the same bands.
But even if a person (on Verizon) decided to go with the US996 and gets it to work just fine on Verizon, there is no grantee that VoLTE or WiFi Calling will be supported (because of the different software/firmware), and it's up in the air as to when firmware updates will be pushed out.
Compared to the ATT H910 frequency spec the US996 is missing UMTS 2100, LTE 29 & LTE 30. Is that going to cause issues should one by the US996 for use on ATT? I have no idea what those frequencies represent.

So the US996 model should work fine with the Verizon bands, but not Fi or Sprint because it is missing a block in the CDMA 800 that Sprint uses. But would work on Fi/Tmobile.
Has anybody officially tried this variant on Verizon yet? I really want to pick up a V20. I'm stuck with Verizon, and I'm not looking forward to their bs locked down bootloader.

The US996 model isn't out until early-to-mid November, so still about 3 weeks out.
It supports all the Verizon bands for CDMA voice and LTE 2/4/13 for data.
The only questions is if Verizon will have any issues activating it in their system, and if VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling works. No way to really know until once it's release.
At this point, I plan on waiting to see if the US996 fully works on Verizon without any issues, and hope the bootloader can be unlocked and eventually rooted. I have only had phones that can been rooted, so hate to give that up.

I pre ordered the US unlocked VG 20 on B and H for $799 shipped. Included free tablet also. Looks like a good deal. I bought the S7 Edge US variant from them a month ago and use on T-Mobile with no problems at all. Suppose to ship around Nov 01.
yeah, but silver is the end of the month after the headphone deal expires. so why do people who want silver get screwed bc LG can't correctly stock the phone?

I pre ordered the US unlocked VG 20 on B and H for $799 shipped. Included free tablet also. Looks like a good deal. I bought the S7 Edge US variant from them a month ago and use on T-Mobile with no problems at all. Suppose to ship around Nov 01.

Well it looks like it does. I bought the North America version of the S7 Edge and I been using it on T-mobile for a while with no problems at all. It even takes the T-Mobile updates. I'm hoping this one does too. B and H says it does, good enough for me. Guess I'll find out when I get it. It shows the bands in the ad, check them out.
Cellular Network
2.5G (EDGE, GSM/GPRS) MHz: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
2G (CDMA/IS-95) MHz: 800, 1900
3.5G (HSPA+, UMTS/WCDMA) MHz: 850, 900, 1900, 2100
3G (CDMA2000, EV-DO) MHz: 800, 1900
4G (LTE) Bands: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 20, 25
US Cellular now has their V20 listed for preorder for $699.
Their web site does not list model number, but I believe it is the same US996 that BH and Newegg are selling for $799.
Is there anyway to verify this, and if it is the same, be able to order it from US Cellular without being a customer?

The LG site has both the US Cellular US996 and US996 Unlocked listed, so it makes me wonder that even thohgh they both have the same model number, the US Cellular ones is not unlocked and the other one is.

So do we think the US996 will work with Project-Fi (unofficially)?

It is missing the Sprint CDMA 850 MHz band.

So true. So far with that guide and phone description any phone I ordered did work on VZW from BH including the axon 7. Otherwise, just return it. Keeping crossed.

B&H has a pretty good guide and explanation of this. In either case CDMA carriers are always a pain. May be able to call your carrier and verify. But chances are they'll be lost and confused with such a new model. Or you'll get lucky...

LOL. I called Verizon two weeks ago and they were totally lost. The store rep was clueless. When I talked to tech support they said "oh no problem" (even though I don't think they had any clue about the US996). I'm glad to hear that the B&H guide has worked out in the past. I'm worried that they will try to charge a 15% restock fee if I can't get it up on Verizon.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've always bought my phones from my carrier (Tmobile USA) but I'm done with Samsung locked bootloaders. I want full root and development or I'll buy another brand that will allow those things.
Seems like trying to buy from Samsung doesn't offer me the option for the international unlocked version? Does that come later? Or do you buy from a third party retailer?
Like I said, sorry if this is a dumb question.... I've just always gotten my phones from the carrier or local shops... But nobody around here is going to have an international Exynos unlocked S8/s8+
Sent from my Rooted Galaxy S7 EDGE on Android 7.0 Nougat, here's the instructions how to do it!

Get it from clove.co.uk they ship to US. It has 2 year Samsung UK warranty (but you need to send it there for repairs).
You can also order off ebay, BUT make sure you choose a dealer who will disable the regional lock like Clove does.

Has anyone heard if this model will work on Verizon? All other carriers suck in my area.
I highly doubt that it will, given that none of the previous models have been able to. From my understanding, GSM technology is faster and allows for better connectivity than CDMA networks like Verizon, which is why it is the only type supported by phones made in places other than North America. I could be wrong, but judging by the past I don't think it's very likely
Well they're trying to make this a global phone so if Verizon is CDMA:BC0 then it'll work as that's what it's listed to work on along with 33 others network bands.

No Band 13 = big problems for Verizon trying to get LTE working normally. It would work on the network I suppose but that is Verizon's main LTE band and also the only one that doesn't overlap with other carriers, like 2 and 4 do.
From the Oneplus website:
LTE/LTE-A
DL 3CA/256QAM, UL CA/64QAM
Supports up to DL CAT12/ UL CAT13(600Mbps/150Mbps) depending on carrier support
depending on carrier support
Bands
FDD LTE: Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30/66
TDD LTE: Band 38/39/40/41
TD-SCDMA: Band 34/39
UMTS(WCDMA): Band 1/2/4/5/8
CDMA EVDO: BC0
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
again a new phone...again completely ignoring the largest carrier in the US
They came so close... I have Verizon and T-Mobile, so when I get mine I'm going to pop a Verizon SIM in and just see what happens.

So this should work on sprint?
I put my Verizon Sim in my OP5 and it did get signal, but it showed 1x and right above it 3G. I did a quick speedtest and I was at about 1MB/s. I get around 70MB/s with my iPhone. So I guess the answer is that it does work, but it does not work well. I also don't know about MMS, I tried SMS and phone calls and that worked fine.
Will be tested on VZN as soon as mine arrives on Friday, if its not working on Verizon, I will be sending it right back to them.

It should function but it DOES NOT have band 13, which was mentioned in a few places now. Considering the price and the potential compromise, it's not worth it.
It has bands 2 and 4 but missing 13. No go for me.
Why is it so hard to add band 13. You have all the rest on there. Idiots.
We Verizon users hate Verizon devices but i will not switch networks. If one plus wants to be a true flagship killer and sell a lot of phones, they should include all bands. Verizon is the biggest network out there.
Thats my opinion.

I totally agree with you my dear Bulgarian friend, makes no sense at all to me. But I will see and give feedback as soon as mine arrives on Friday. I know from a fact that if you live in a fairly big city, band 13 is really not needed, down in ATL I am good with 2 and 4 on all devices. Tested on Mi Mix, which also lacks the band 13, but it has 2 and 4. Anyway I will let you all know on Friday.

yeah, I'm usually on band 4 here in my town, but when I'm in my office building, it does switch to band 13 since it needs that lower frequency to penetrate the building. So I'd imagine I wouldn't have signal or very weak signal in my office. But I'll try it, mine's set to arrive on Friday as well.

Yeah we will have to test, to be honest in the office I am on WiFi so not an issue, but then again are we going to have VoLTE, text and call is questionable.

yeah, I have wifi at work too, but I wouldn't receive calls or texts (does Verizon send calls/texts over wifi? I don't think they do unless the phone supports that option, which I doubt this one will).
I dont think so too, it will be interesting to find out. I am glad they are going the step forward to include more bands, but VZN strikes again. I am sure even if they added band 13, without VZN whitelisting their IMEIs, its still unusable. We will see.

So no Verizon compatibility?
Nope. It may look that way because the phone technically supports one of Verizon's legacy CDMA frequencies and a handful of its LTE bands, but OnePlus has no intention of ever officially supporting Verizon.

So basically no official support but might work.
Pretty much.
