Hi guys, this might be a more general question, but I just installed TWRP on my S8 G950F and that seems to work OK. I went to install TeamExy rom, flashed BL and CP, AROMA installer seemed ok but phone would never finish booting. I went to reflash the rom and try to install from internal storage rather than SD, but noticed the file transfer stops in Windows before the progress bar reaches the end. I've tried 2 different PCs with exactly the same result. Doing file ZIP signature check results in a fail. I have wiped the phone, it was erroring about preload which i rebuilt the partition and it doesn't error anymore, but still the same problem. Anyone else had this and knows how to fix it??
thanks!

Hi,
I'm at my wits end. I had SlimRom installed for a week and all was fine, but I was curious about what new ROMs were out there so I backed up my phone using ROM Manager and did all the usual stuff to get a new ROM. I installed Gummy, but didn't like it; I installed one other ROM that I can't remember its name, but also didn't like that. I realized my comfy home of SlimRom was where I wanted to be, so I tried to flash the backup.zip that I had created but it kept saying installation aborted (Status 0).
After hours of countless attempts and just weird behaviour (sometimes boot loops, sometimes not booting into recovery, etc.) I finally got my phone back to stock.
I downloaded the latest SlimRom file 3 times to make sure it wasn't a corrupt zip (twice from my PC and once from my phone directly). Both the zip directly from Slim as well as the backup.zip that I made with ROM Manager give me the same installation aborted. The other error it gives is "E: Error in /data/media/0/slim....zip". I'm wondering if somehow my partition is screwed up. I tried using Odin's repartition, which just erased my recovery partition, but I got that back thankfully! When I wipe data/factory reset it says wipe complete (and the ROM does reset to factory) but it also says "E:unknown volume '/sdcard/.android_secure' "...I'm wondering if that relates to why the backup.zip file won't read properly. Maybe the partition got screwed up somehow?
I can flash a SU zip so it's not a flashing problem, per se. And thankfully Odin always works!
I think I may need the stock PIT file for the Telus S4 l337m
UPDATE:
I think I found the proper pit (SGS-I337_16GB) but my phone says "secure check fail: pit".
Hello there.. I normally don't have a problem figuring out what to do but I'm totally stuck here. I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 SPHL720T. I was rooted and running a custom ROM. I was having issues with the wifi so I decided to flash back to GPE 5.0.1 here from the xda forums. I am running twrp v2.8.4.0. I made a backup and wiped system/data/cache and dalvik. I went to install JFLTE-GPE-20150303 (LRX22C) from ultimarom.com via here at XDA. It said zip is corrupt. So i redownloaded on my PC and transferred it to my sd card. Still said corrupt. So I downloaded a different ROM on my PC and moved to SD. Still said corrupt. I tried to flash a GAPPS package and it worked but no ROMS I tried would. I tried to install my latest backup through recovery. It said MD5 doesn't match. If I hit reboot in twrp it prompts to install superuser because the phone doesn't appear to be rooted. If I hit that it runs the script for about 2 seconds then reboots. It won't boot into the OS as there is no OS and if I reboot into recovery it still gives me the "install su" prompt at the reboot screen. So then I hooked up into ODIN and download mode and flashed "CF-Auto-Root-jflterefreshspr-jflterefreshspr-sphl720t.tar.md5" and "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-jfltespr.tar". Still having the same issues. I have no idea what to do at this point. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I need my phone for work and play .
Thanks,
Aaron
Here's how I spent my last night.
I have I9500. I decided to downgrade from 5.1.1 CM, did wipe, flashed MIUI. Didn't liked it - wiped - flashed CM 4.4.2 11-20140217.
First sign of a problem were black previews in default Gallery (I can't say if it was on MIUI or CM); then I tried to install xposed and got error. It become evident that my /Android/data/ is read-only (my camera was crashing on startup, browser - when I tried to download file).
I tried to change permissions via Root Explorer -> got an error ("Can't change permission, possibly you have file system that don't allow that."). I Googled, tried some apps, without success. Tried various terminal commands, a lot - with same result. Then I formatted all partitions via recovery (they all was ext4). Fixed permissions. Installed CM nad Gapps again - no result. I wanted to format my phone via PC, but coudn't figure out how to mount it as Mass Storage.
Flashed this (Google: "internal storage is completely write protected please help", first link) - didn't helped.
Help, please. I'm at my wits end.
Sorry for grammar.
P.S.
Yeah, I totally forgot - last option I'm gonna use is flash original firmware via Odin. Problem is it's kinda heavy, and my internet is not so good.

Fixed access issue^.^
The first issue I started to notice after rooting via Odin & TWRP was when trying to flash the iOS and WP ROMs from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/3oss-project-samsung-galaxy-tab-4-7inch-t3081478 , it would fail. I was able to successfully flash the Google ROM from same post. I believe it was with one of the other ones that it even said successful yet when i went to reboot said no OS installed. So, I figured update my TWRP to newest version, maybe that was the problem. Well after updating, now when i go to wipe/factory reset it either says unable to mount or it doesnt even make it that far and reboots system. I tried flashing PIT file with Odin and issue persists. Everything still works smoothly but any help fixing this issue would be much appreciated as I do not want to dirty flash anything. Thanks in advance.
So now...after flashing stock firmware, it boots all the way to nook screen (right after samsung logo) and stops. I can boot into TWRP but it still says unable to mount data. Also, in TWRP when i click mount, the only one already checked is cache. I can manually select all others except data. When i go to install, the internal sd has absolutely nothing on it...really hope i didn's completely mess it up, sometimes my eagerness to learn gets the better of me. Thanks again for any help!
I have the same issue, im stuck
Hi Guys.
I recently noticed that I couldn't create a backup with TWRP. Firstly, I thought it was a TWRP problem, as I had some issues installing it after the B588 update. So I flashed it again, but nothing changed. When my back up would reach about 70%, it would give me a reboot. Then I tried to install B588 again, to fix any errors. Although, I flashed it correctly, when I tried to restore the back up I had through Huawei's app, I got an unexpected reboot. So I decided to intall sokkoban's rom. During my first attempt to copy the zip files, it stoped the process. So I took the files directly to the SD card (with an adapter and not via usb cable). I re-flashed TWRP and then entered recovery, to flash the zip files (I am only able to enter custom recovery, only through xposed modules and adb commands since my latest update: 01-01-2017). After managing to enter TWRP, I tried to clear everything, but I got an error:
The message was: mkfs.fat /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 process ended with ERROR: 1 Unable to wipe sdcard. (just in case the image is not visible)
Can anyone help with this?
Currently I am trying to install the ROM ...

Currently I am trying to install the ROM ...
Click to collapse
This error is quite normal.....I have got this many times wiping everything and this isn't an issue...
With reboot during restore I think that your backup is corrupt at some point
