Here's how I spent my last night.
I have I9500. I decided to downgrade from 5.1.1 CM, did wipe, flashed MIUI. Didn't liked it - wiped - flashed CM 4.4.2 11-20140217.
First sign of a problem were black previews in default Gallery (I can't say if it was on MIUI or CM); then I tried to install xposed and got error. It become evident that my /Android/data/ is read-only (my camera was crashing on startup, browser - when I tried to download file).
I tried to change permissions via Root Explorer -> got an error ("Can't change permission, possibly you have file system that don't allow that."). I Googled, tried some apps, without success. Tried various terminal commands, a lot - with same result. Then I formatted all partitions via recovery (they all was ext4). Fixed permissions. Installed CM nad Gapps again - no result. I wanted to format my phone via PC, but coudn't figure out how to mount it as Mass Storage.
Flashed this (Google: "internal storage is completely write protected please help", first link) - didn't helped.
Help, please. I'm at my wits end.
Sorry for grammar.
P.S.
Yeah, I totally forgot - last option I'm gonna use is flash original firmware via Odin. Problem is it's kinda heavy, and my internet is not so good.

Hello!
First of all, the diagnostic in the title was given by a guy on reddit so ignore it if you want.
My Nexus 7 started freezing and crashing a few weeks ago. Last week I decided to change the rom from a CM 11 m8 to cm 11 m12.
While writing, after sending the system.img, it stopped at writing the system. Decided to try again but first I loaded TWRP and wanted to wipe everything just to be sure.
Apparently, in the console log, there were a ton of errors "cant mount /data", "cant mount /cache".
Looked up some solutions and managed to reformat using a make_ext4fs command. The /data errors were gone but the /cache is still there.
Tried reinstalling a rom again and it still failed. Also I tried to install a rom via the adb sideload. I manged to get a CM 11 running but the freezing was still there.
Whenever I try to install a stock rom, it stops at writing system and it says FileWriteError or something like that.
The tablet has been put to sleep for a week now and today when I opened it in TWRP, the /cache error was still there.
If anyone is interested in the reason it froze, I managed to boot into safe mode and there were a lot of NPEs thrown by Keyguard Manager or similar to that.
Please help me!
Hello, this is my first post forgive me if i say something wrong
I have an elephone p7000. I was using it with Aerom (custom rom) then it started showing errors app failures, then i closed phone 3 days ago and it soft bricked. i tried formatting with SP flash tool then flashing some roms including stock roms. Phone never opened always keeped at logo. Then using twrp and Adb command i send rom.zip to my phone and installed it with twrp, after that phone opened but after 10 minutes my phone freaked out. error messages showed up (android stoped working) (system stopped working) or google play stopped working etc. then it soft bricked again. And again data files corrupted. When i tried to wipe data cache calvic unable to mount storage -unable to mount data etc. so i found in another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2683787) and used that commands
adb shell
killall -19 recovery
make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p8
reboot
storage fixed then i flashed a stock rom. phone opened but after 30 minutes again system failed android stopped working launcher stopped working google stopped working etc. and now my phone is soft bricked again and when i try to wipe it says unable to mount storage again. So im guessing i must format all things in phone even twrp and install recovery then a stock rom.
i need help what should i do?

I have the same problem! Were you able to fix it?
Hi Guys.
I recently noticed that I couldn't create a backup with TWRP. Firstly, I thought it was a TWRP problem, as I had some issues installing it after the B588 update. So I flashed it again, but nothing changed. When my back up would reach about 70%, it would give me a reboot. Then I tried to install B588 again, to fix any errors. Although, I flashed it correctly, when I tried to restore the back up I had through Huawei's app, I got an unexpected reboot. So I decided to intall sokkoban's rom. During my first attempt to copy the zip files, it stoped the process. So I took the files directly to the SD card (with an adapter and not via usb cable). I re-flashed TWRP and then entered recovery, to flash the zip files (I am only able to enter custom recovery, only through xposed modules and adb commands since my latest update: 01-01-2017). After managing to enter TWRP, I tried to clear everything, but I got an error:
The message was: mkfs.fat /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 process ended with ERROR: 1 Unable to wipe sdcard. (just in case the image is not visible)
Can anyone help with this?
Currently I am trying to install the ROM ...

Currently I am trying to install the ROM ...
Click to collapse
This error is quite normal.....I have got this many times wiping everything and this isn't an issue...
With reboot during restore I think that your backup is corrupt at some point
Hi guys, this might be a more general question, but I just installed TWRP on my S8 G950F and that seems to work OK. I went to install TeamExy rom, flashed BL and CP, AROMA installer seemed ok but phone would never finish booting. I went to reflash the rom and try to install from internal storage rather than SD, but noticed the file transfer stops in Windows before the progress bar reaches the end. I've tried 2 different PCs with exactly the same result. Doing file ZIP signature check results in a fail. I have wiped the phone, it was erroring about preload which i rebuilt the partition and it doesn't error anymore, but still the same problem. Anyone else had this and knows how to fix it??
thanks!
Got an update notification on my nexus 6p with installed RR-P-v7.0.2 on it. After installing this OTA update i got an infinite booting screen. I loaded back into twrp and got a password prompt to mount partitions (i didn't have any passwords anywhere on my phone before). I could neither access internal storage from within recovery, nor from pc. Installed newest version of TWRP (3.4.0), didn't help. Did a full wipe, which finally helped and allowed me to see and transfer files to my internal storage. Downloaded RROS-Q-8.5.9 zip from official site, tried to install again, which resulted in same error as before. Then i found out that i can load the system even with this error presenting, but i CAN'T install magisc. I don't know if it is me, who does something wrong or is it error in system zip? Also before each attempt to reinstall RROS-Q-8.5.9 i see logs, that magisc binaries r missing, i don't know if that might be the reason of vendor error in the end. The only way i can fix it is flash official vendor.img and flash older system image. But i really want to have RROS-Q-8.5.9 on my phone, with magics. So i came to seek your help, people. Please help
