invalided zip can mean all sorts of things
The zip is corrupted - download the zip file again
The zip is not meant for your phone
You have incorrectly edited the zip
The updater script is incorrect
The update binary is not for your phone
The zip is not a flashable zip - look inside and make sure there is a META-INF folder - if not its definitely not a flashable zip

Please forgive me guys if this has been asked before ..........I've searched the forum without success......but my problem is with this
;
Universal_GB_ROOT_v9.zip mediafire.com/?a99wthh9p98bm0y
I followed the advised procedure but when I get to the choices screen and select install from SD Card, I am then shown this list of options:
../
.android_secure/
Android/
DCIM/
LOST.DIR/
META-INF /
system/
Where do I start, I have tried going through in sequence with no success/response, I have then tried just selecting META-INF / & system / in sequence, again no joy....... could someone give this inquisitive old duffer a walk through, or show me what I'm doing wrong, PLEASE:fingers-crossed:
You are not supposed to extract the zip. Just select install zip from sd card, then select the root zip. Don't extract it and you will be fine.

Thanks for the quick reply......I have not extracted anything, I just downloaded the zip file went nowhere near extraction and the file in my SD card says META INF & system, no where is it named as zip.
Would you by any chance have a good link for the zip file instead.....be grateful.
You're using apply update from SD card in CWM right?
Well location of your zip file should be..
/sdcard/*here*
If you are using atock recovery then the zip file should be on top of the list.. It SHOULD be a .zip file
if you are using clockworkmod recovery then the .zip file will be at the end of the list.. Good luck
Press thanks if i helped you

The zip file in the Android dev host is invalid
Can you re-load the file?
Thanks
Youre updating via fastboot or recovery?
I recommended install as shown in leo's video
Anyway, the one in dev host is for fastboot, while in android file and ubunto one is zip flashable thru recovery..
Check MD5 if you download file correctly
zip works fine
Hi guys,
When I enter cwm recovery mode and try to install zip file (tries several, none working), the message is: cannot open zip file (bad)... installation aborted.
Any help is much appreciated.

which Rom you're trying to flash? make sure that the zip file is right, or is there another zip in the zip file?
Solution found - automatically opened zip files in safari

I think I have found the solution. I figured there might happen something with the zip files after they are downloaded when my Mac OS X Yosemite opens them (I re-compress the folders usually and transfer the new zip file to an external SD.) So I turned off safe opening on safari preferences, re-downloaded the rom (this time: Pac Man ROM), flashed, and it worked like a charm!
So either you're running Mac or Windows, auto-expanding might cause trouble with the zip files.
I hope others will find this helpful as well.
Merry xmas!

some recovery does not accept unsigned zip like rom or other flashable zip. If you get "Signature Verification fail" error during flashing you need to sign the zip.
You can give as information works and what this file installation method.

I checked this with I337 AT&T NC1 kernel ZIP. I signed it as mentioned in read me.txt and tried to flash a cellphone. The messages were "Failed to verify whole file signature" and "Signature verification failed". As I suppose testkey.pk8 and testkey.x509.pem are not good to sign this ZIP.
Any suggestions please?
Hi bro! Help me with these questions, please!
This program in the APK version, is now in v3.4, in my case when I use it or when I sign a file, the output folder creates an equal file with a name changed to name-SIGNED.xxx but for the size that It has not seem to be the same signed file, the original weighs, for example 16MB. And the signed copy weighs 1.63 KB. Something is wrong?
1. Zip Signed for Windows has any final version superior to yours posted here?
2. Is the Android APK version of ZipSigned legit? Are they created by the same person or are they other creators? Which do you recommend?
3. We have Firmware DUMPs extracted from BLU brand terminals, but some of them ask us that the Scatter files (DUMPs in Scatter format) must be signed and gives us an error in the installation ("Failed verifications Signed"), you can help us and explain to us which files should be signed inside the folder with all the scatter files? Can you tell us if this program can sign files with the extensions .IMG or .BIN for example?
