Per this article on XDA, we'll be getting Android 10 sometime this month.
The open beta should be released very soon because the H2o beta was released yesterday,
On the other hand, don't be surprised if Oneplus be sneaky and hold off a while to push more users towards the 7T series
Hasn't q been out for a few months via the India website?
The dp was released in July

hi to all, i just read this notice on miui forum
[ ........***Kernel source***
As we previously announced, we are going to release the kernel source for all future phones within three months of the device’s launch. In line with that schedule, we’ll be releasing the Redmi Note 4g kernel source by January 31st which is ~30 days after our launch.
We’re still committed to releasing the Mi 3 and Redmi Note 3g kernel source by March.
***MIUI 6***
MIUI 6 for Redmi Note 4g and Mi 3 will go to go into open beta testing in a few weeks. As mentioned last week, we’re planning to update the Redmi 1s to MIUI 6 in March around the same time as the China version. .....]
good news for us...
Fantastic, thanks for sharing. :good:

Yes good News indeed. but are there active devs for note 4g .. tuxboy is only one struggling alone.
Leaks suggest that August 20 2018 Google will release Official Android P.. name is still unclear but it will be the name of a dessert (treat) starting with P.
Last few Android major releases were all released at about this time in August, so this makes sense. Then we will get a .1 bump when Pixel 3 is released in November.

If I remember rightly Oreo was released on 21st so makes probably would call this leak legit
Seems about right. Google said it would be released in the 3rd quarter and last year Android O was released August 21st.
Official Android p is coming this month signs of release
Now I've been paying attention to Google I know every month on the 5th Google releases a security patch update well I believe that Augusts security patch will only be included in the official Android p update coming later this month on the 20th..
Now that the OP7 is officially announced, is there a time limit on O/S updates to our OP5's?
Alan
I don't have any official statement regarding OxygenOS, but if you use LineageOS, the Oneplus One, 2 and 3 are still supported so I can't imagine support for 5 flailing anytime soon: https://download.lineageos.org/ <-- (Oneplus One updates as recent as today)
I am in China, my oneplus 5 will receive updates almost every week.:伊克:
He's probably referring to the Oxygen OS updates. Community based ROMs will get support for some time to come. I think I recall OP promised 2 major updates, so OOS might see Q for OP5/T, but don't take my word on it.
I think we will not get an official update with Android Q, but the monthly security updates should be continue for another year or so at least I imagine? Just guessing.

Best bet, ask OnePlus themselves instead of all of this speculation.
So it seems Android Q will come to OP5: https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/...d-zen-mode-from-7-pro-but-not-nightscape-2-0/

Android Q update
We have already released Android Q Developer Preview on the forum for the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 6/6T, available. For those wondering, rest assured: Android Q will also make its way to the OnePlus 5 and 5T. Just remember, there are no ETAs.

Is still advisable to buy RN7 instead of RN7S, despite Mi said this version will be discontinued?
Are we left with less official updates and feeble ROM support for devs in the near future, as they most likely will be working on 7S?
RN7 has already been confirmed update to Android Q for early 2020, it might take some time but official updates will not stop as the release of MIUI 11 is close and Android Security updates are constantly released.
The android 10 official update yet to rollout.
Other non android one phones have rolled out android 10 for their devices . It feels so bad Mi a2 being android one phone still have no any official announcement regarding that. Even they do not have any roadmap for the release.
The December 2019 security patch has rolled out leading with a major Chrome bug inside that.
Since October Google had pushed the update from their side, but xiaomi is taking a lot of time in rolling out the update.
Also their is no beta version rolled out for the same for android 10.
Kindly the senior devs please spread this post to xiaomi, so that they will look into this.
Thankyou.
That surely is the last Xiaomi device I'm going to ever buy. Completely disappointed. The main reason I picked this "Apple boldness" device is the Android one project, second the price. Now I know it was kind of a waste of money for what I wanted and needed from a smartphone. Even Samsung are rolling out Android 10 with a lot more of useful resources sooner, when not, they offer roadmaps and news about it. Putting aside its stable security patches releases even for A5 2017, month after month, my previous daily driver.
