When A9 pro will get nougat ??
Take a look. Very soon.
Very soon means....when or in how many days or weeks.....
If i had to guess i'd say up to 6 months from when spotted on benchmarks. It seemed to be like so for the S7.
Maybe coupled with the next security update (hoping) . A5 A3 were quick. S7 was the first, so might have been thoroughly done.

Even so if i'm not mistaken the A5 2017 took 4 months from benchmark to release. So 4 to 6 months is not unrealistic (and a sad timetable).

But mine is retail Brazil. How come the retail version is lagging behind? Samsung policies are indeed beyond all of us.

I m very promptly checking twice daily. Hope you are also.
I read somewhere (cant remember source) it MIGHT get it after the last model gets updated (which would start 27/07), so.... Hope starts after tomorrow. Its a phone that is still on market and has the crappiest of supports, outdated phones have already been updated first. AND there are NO accessories for it on the official samsung stores. Gotta remember to buy only extremely popular phones or flagships instead of actually good ones that dont rip my pockets.

 checking samsung update history here, it takes between 50 to 60 days between updates. The last one here was 21/6. Means 2nd week Aug might be a good guess.
This is a real good phone without samsung (less compared to their other models) / xda dev support. Still after 1 year of release no custom rom / kernel available. Never been like this with any of my earlier devices, Samsung or otherwise.
If we are lucky enough, next update will be only a security patch only. Will again leave us yearning for nougat for another month or so. My little ray of sunshine :victory:
Samsung going to release Nougat on 8th of Aug
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) qualifies for Android 8.0 Oreo update since it was released on the market one year ago. Unfortunately, we won't be getting a confirmation from*Samsung, but we'll certainly know before the update hits the*phone*if the South Korean company decides to give the green light.

I believe it will. gsmarena announced that in November we'll get the update.
Is there any hope to get patches for spectre meltdown on tab s2?
maybe and maybe not.. all depends on Samsung and if they care about the customers .
I'd think LineageOS would get patches via AOSP so if you're rooted you could go that route. That's what I'm researching anyway. Havent come across official word from Samsung but some unofficial stuff I've seen insinuates the Tab S2 won't be getting a patch from ol' Sammy. This might not be so bad if an 8" version of the Tab S3 existed.
Found this interesting article. I wonder if the "L Refresh" is the 2016 refresh?
Probably
LÖRLZ You cereals? Samsung didnt even release patches yet for WPA2 Krack. Even though, they say somewhere on their site, the Tab S2 is marked as quarter based security updates. But there was none for Q4 2017 so far. Besides, I totally dont want any spectre meltdown fixed on my Tab S2, if it renders it into a slow brick.
Well, LOS has these patches for sure as soon as available. ^^ Luckily we have LOS for it
Does anyone know of any Rom that has the patches that might work on t810? Can't seem to find one.
Tab s2 got updated today to January 1 2018 security update. This update most likely has the spectre meltdown patches and the wp2 vulnerability patched.
Samsung is yet to release Android 8.0 Oreo for flagship devices like the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 so it really can’t be said for sure when the update will filter down to its premium mid-range lineup, let alone compatible low-end devices. Nevertheless, one of its carrier partners has revealed that the Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy Tab E Android 8.0 Oreo update will arrive in due course.
Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy Tab E Android 8.0 Oreo update
Samsung has been running an Android 8.0 Oreo beta program for the past couple of months. It has only released beta firmware for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. The company is yet to confirm when it will roll out Oreo for all users but it’s expected to do that in the near future.
The company itself hasn’t said anything about the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Galaxy J7 Prime and the Galaxy Tab E. The information comes from T-Mobile’s update tracker. The carrier has one on its website which informs users what stage the upcoming software update for their device is in.
The support pages for both handsets mention that the Oreo update is in “manufacturer development” phase. This means that Samsung is working on Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy Tab E. It will obviously be released for these devices long after the flagships have had their turn.
If T-Mobile is due to receive this update, users on other carriers and in other markets can result assured that they will get Oreo on their units as well later this year.
