Hi mate ,
Root has nothing to do with SIM unlock , to sim unlock you need a code, in the old days used to be possible to do it without the code, see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282683
Not possible anymore , as far as i know , there ara apps that in some model can do it , but you have to pay
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spocky.galaxsimunlock&hl=en
It does not work in all models ...and more important firmware versions
Hi. It does not work in any way.

Hi ,
You need to buy and unlocking code or take to a local service shop to unlock.......no other way ( yet)

Locked S7

If I buy a network locked S7 would flashing firmware unlock it?
No
I ask because it has worked on other Samsungs, how sure are you?

I'm pretty sure.
Not sure how it has worked on previous devices as flashing firmware and a SIM lock are completely different.
P.S. Hello fellow Salfordian

Last time I know it worked for sure was on an old Galaxy Ace, after the flash it accepted any sim/network

Strange. The OS and the Sim lock are completely different so the flash of a new firmware shouldn't affect the Sim Lock

For sure you're right, but if hes talking about the first gen galaxy ace, it's a low budget phone released at 2011 so maybe, much happened since then. Anyways I can confirm myself that it doesn't work at least since the galaxy s3.

European languages for G935FD Dual Sim, please help me

Hello toto everyone,
I've just bought the dual sim version of the galaxy s7 edge, code G935fd and I'm really disappointed since there's no Italian language or other European language except English (UK).
So I'm wondering if there's another official firmware I can use to have the Italian language without losing the dual sim functionality.
Reading on other posts someone says it could be possible using the firmware for the standard G935f but I didn't understand exactly the way to do this.
Someone could point me in the right direction please?
Thanks in advance

No, you don't really need to root or unlock. As for the method, you can use the Odin guide given in this thread.

I have the UAE firmware that came out of the box, I'm waiting till Sunday, and if I don't get an OTA, I'll update using Odin. As for losing dual SIM functionality, people who have updated said it works fine. Lastly, please tell me how your update process goes since you are going to do it before me.

Please, before I try, could I ask you an important information please?
I've downloaded the firmware that you linked and there are 5 files:
AP

Should I use all of them or should I use only the AP file as showed in the guide?
Thanks

You need to use the first 4 files and put them in their respective columns, and then proceed to flash.

A quick question about dual sim for both of you: with dual sim, can you set a SIM preference to a contact or a number so that when you call, same Sim will always be used?
Take a look at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3353208

I'm not sure, I wanted to get the single SIM but in my region, only dual SIM is available. I'm using the 2nd slot for my micro-SD card.
I've just finished the download of the firmware and I've updated the smartphone with all the needed applications.
I also have made some calls I think using both the SIM and certainly I've used internet with both the SIM.
So I can confirm that the update procedure had a complete success, obviously now I have the Italian language and all the other languages are available and the dual sim functionality seems to be perfect.
So I want to thank all of you that with your suggestions made possible to achive this result.
Best regards to all of you.

@artic73 , Could you please confirm that you can assign a SIM preference to say either a contact or an individual number? E.g calling one of your friend from SIM1 & other friend using SIM2 without specifying which SIM to use every time?
I currently have to specify which SIM to use every time.. Which is bit annoying. There is no app yet (free/paid) that works on marshmallow making it even more annoying [emoji19]
If that works for you then I too would flash same ROM.

S7 Edge Dual Sim , fake ROM ?

Hey guys.
I'm experiencing lot of bugs on my Galaxy S7 edge dual sim.
Some applications does not work, for example S Health, Samsung Pay.
I'm also experiencing problems, wherr I can't use SIM 2 for Mobile data. After setting it up, mobile data sometimes doesn't work.
Also few functions on side panel does not work properly.
Check screenshot in attachments, there are software informations.
Do I have official ROM ?
Or what can be problem? Is TouchWiz (or Samsung experience) so unstable? Or is it just my unique case?
Thanks for any help.
Download the app Phone Info and post some screens here..

With my old S5 I did.
I bought this S7 edge from second hand, so I don't know what he did with the phone. He didn't tell me anything about installing custom ROM or something.
What should I do now?

Thank you. So all I have to do is install the newest firmware via odin, right ?:fingers-crossed:
/And one more question. Model SM-G935FD does not have Firmware for my country. I know it is designed for Southeast Asia and India, but .. May it cause any problems for me ? Like worse GPS locking or something. I dont think so, just want to make sure
The rom you have on the phone is for the G935F or Not G935FD version.
try installing an dual rom version instead of single rom version that may solve your problem. The G935F version will work but some apps may not work properly.
So I checked everything (BL,AP,CP,CSC) but UMS and started instalation.
/everything looks good, but I will let you know later after some using

[Q&A] Nokia 5 TA-1044 Firmware

Hello XDA friends and Nokia 5 users
I have TA-1044 model Dual Sim and running Android 8.1.
I would like to return to Android 7.0 or 7.1.1 to be able to ROOT my device.
Is the firmware ND1-3320-0-00WW-A02 compatible with my model?
It should be. I don't think Nokia 5 models differ in any way. It's just different certifications that they have to go through in different regions.

I use to use Motorola Phones... When you flashed a single sim rom on a dual sim, you get a only 1 sim working :/ I'm sad I want to root my Nokia, but I only found tons of tutorials for the1024 and 1053

Yeah.. I replied and thought that it could be bad
If it bricks, bring it to where you bought it (assuming it's still under warranty time). Act stupid. They'll either fix it or give a new one.

Not all the Nokia phones will get unlocked bootloader. Chances are this won't.
