the anterior camera popped out it self - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

Hi, Im running the last version of the stock os (usually I don't tend to install roms unless there are performance issues) eu
Basiccally I was downloading some photos from my Facebook (lite) account, and the anterior camera popped out itself, it shouldnt do that since I never launch any command for doing so (yeah Im quite paranoid)
Also Facebook should not have any camera access
I tryed a scan with avast, malwarebytes they didnt find anything.. So wth has happened?

RAM saver, disable facebook uploadmanager service

Okay, guys, I was noticing new version of facebook has an uplaodmanager service running, nice for uploading photos from phone but time to time I noticed it was eating RAM upto ~34MBs (it can show you also 6MBs but as I said I have seen many times upto 34MBs), a lot for a service and don't use this service.
Titanium backup can't freeze service, as far as I have explored, may be overlooked.
To disable the service (stopping it does not work as it started automatically after some time)
Only for rooted phone (enable usb debugging first)
1. Go to terminal emulator
2. type su to get super user permissions
3. then type and hit enter
pm disable com.facebook.katana/com.facebook.katana.service.UploadManager
4. off you go
it might be started again on next reboot hence should be disabled again or make a script widget to run it.
It worked for me, may be there is a better way if so please share or use above.
thanks man

make a shortcut in your desktop of running services and click and stop services
I use titanium backup to freeze facebook, I then defrost it before I use it, saves lot of memory, I also disable voodoo saving more!

In my case com.facebook.katana was killing my battery, I disabled FB sync and now battery life is back to normal.

I'm on note 1 and im also facing same issue. I could see msgs only if i open app or sometimes if i restart device.
From my experience it sounds like a network issue, are you on 3G/4G? or Wifi?
Previously when I was on a crappy carrier (Vodafone AU 3G) I would get delayed messages, but now with a better carrier (Telstra 4G) I get them almost instantly. In fact I get messages faster on 4G than on any WiFi I've ever connected this includes a Wireless N network with a 100mpbs down / 2mbps up cable connection.

It happened to me last night, whatsapp woke up when i touched the phone , it doesnt happen much often, i think the problem is not in our devices, its more like whatsapp's servers on huge pressure causing the delay in receiving msgs.
Maybe you could try "push notification fixer" From the playtore. It is worth giving it a try

same problem here. The messages arrive only when I open the app.
It was occuring while I was with samsung rom, but its more often now with an AOSP (omnirom). I dont think its rom or device related.

Silly fix. Won't solve this problem whatsoever. But hey, trying it out won't do much harm anyway.

I'm not here for waste my time with people that dont contribute nothing to this forum. See ya
wow, thanks Joku, I'll try this
guys, any solution please ?
This thread has been dead for a long time and whatsapp issue as well but lately it resurfaced on a friend's phone not mine and yet we have the same OS/ROM same whatsapp version etc. but strangely he doesn't receive messages unless he opens the app
I have noticed this happens only when he is connected to his wifi network because as soon as he disables it to switch to 3G he receives the messages so I have come up with a workaround using tasker to disable and re-enable wifi periodically so that he receives the messages only a few seconds after they are sent
This has been happening since a couple of whatsapp updates ago but since the latest update it has been much worse
I hope this issue will be resolved soon and in the meantime if this has been discussed on some other thread or forum please feel free to redirect me

Rant: Facebook messenger using the Ringtone sound!

I am copying the review I posted on Facebook Messenger app page on play store . If you share the same pain, please post the same review on Facebook Messenger app page.
Android has different sound settings for Ringtone and Notification. Ringtone is purely used when someone calls you and it rings your phone. Notification sound is used for, of course, notifications, like when someone messages you or you get a new email.
Many of us keep our Ringtone sound enabled and notification sound disabled when at work or during night, so you don't get disturbed by constant notification sound but you still get phone calls.
However, facebook messenger completely ignores this. They use the Ringtone sound instead of notification sound. So even when I have muted my notification, my phone keeps buzzing since the facebook messenger sound is passing through the Ringtone sound.
This issue had been in the app for long, I thought they would figure it out themselves but its been more than a year with the bug and they still haven't fixed it. I will change review to 5 stars after they fix it

Just use greenify without enabling it in xposed to greenify Facebook messenger and it won't bug you anymore and you'd still get your phone calls through just like normal[emoji16]

No notifications over night

I wake up with a blank lockscreen but when I go into Texta, Snapchat, Messenger, Inbox there are new things there.
I am using Greenify but those apps are not hibernated. Doze is on. Could that be it?

I've experienced that in my Gmail app.
Even the eSports app.
My OP5 is not rooted.. so far...
Nor do I have any greenify app.. so far...
I'm leaning on thinking it's the Doze.
Yes it is. Have to go into the apps that I have to have notifications for and have them not be optimized. -Settings-Battery-Battery Optimization, then click whichever app I HAVE to have notifications for (Gmail, Hangouts, etc) and then make them not be optimized. I have never had this issue on any other phone so it must be OxygenOS. It will even get rid of notifications that have been showing. I have seen Gmail notifications disappear on many occasions as I am looking at the notification. I have searched the OnePlus forums and this apparently has been an issue in OOS for QUITE awhile. I am AMAZED it is still an issue. OOS even prevents my weather app from showing notifications initially until I go in and have the OS not optimize app. I use Today Weather. Again... BAFFLING that this is still an issue... And I have seen NO ONE until you mention it in this forum....

When I woke up and saw them missing for the 3rd day in a row, I did the same thing as you actually. I am also on xXx ROM. Maybe that's the reason? I didnt have this problem when I was flashing stock updates instead of the ROM updates for 4.5.x, etc.

Facebook keeping device awake

Anyone notice Facebook battery drain, well should I say abnormal drain. Using bbs it comes up as kernel keeping the device from going to deep sleep, but it's Facebook. If I'm on Facebook or was on Facebook and turn off phone it doesn't go into deep sleep at all, however if I clear Facebook from recents it goes into sleep immediatly. I can reproduce this every time. Have also reinstalled Facebook and cleared cache, to no avail. I'm familiar with other options so posts regarding that is useless. Just looking to see if anyone else has noticed or can reproduce the same behavior. Happens on stock and em kernel

Yep, on any battery app, it was showing the kernel causing the drain, I had to literally watch the sleep times. If I closed it in recents it would be fine , but if I just turned off phone...drain

I'm not talking about normal drain, I'm talking about fb preventing deep sleep, and I know it's not a hardware issue, the purpose of the thread was to maybe help someone who is wondering why they aren't getting good battery life, but I see the idea of helping someone may be foreign to you

There was no need to search as I saw what the problem was, and it only started happening after fb last update. Facebook has alot of wake ups but this is something different, and even when the app was closed my frequencies would be pegged. Just because you think you know and I know, doesn't me some random person may stroll across this and it be helpful to them
Did anyone try to disable battery optimisation for FB and test?
