3G "dead" in Vista but not in WM! Why?

Hello to all out there,
it's now two weeks since I got my Shift. I liberated it and using WM is sooo much more pleasant and useful for quick things.
Yesterday I had a problem with the modem inside Vista, meaning I could not get a connection through either IE or Mail. The modem is ON (duh...), WLAN usually also (home & office use), BT and push are off. If I connect through WLAN, everything works flawlessly.
The funny thing is that 3G connections work perfectly through SnapVue/WM and both emails and browsing are perfect.
I'm still new to Vista (still rely on XP, heh... ), so I don't really have the inside knowledge of the OS to know where to look. One thing I've made sure for now is that there is no "3G modem" in the Device Mgr.
Any suggestions before I have to format would be veery welcome! Thanks in advance!

prova a reinstallare il control center. non so se incide. quindi non trovi nulla nella lista hardware?
try reinstall shag control.

Some operators (virtual operators, like symio in Spain) are recognized like "roaming" networks. IN that case be sure to enable the correct option on shagCtrl. (Allow to connect on roaming....).

Tried, but no joy... I am using TIM, so a "main" network.
The funny thing is that this happened overnight, because I used the connection to show a website in Vista to a friend, but yesterday evening I could not connect when I wanted to dl my email.
I absolutely don't have an idea on where to look...
Could someone please have a look into their settings and check if there's a modem hidden somewhere? It may be that the automatic Windows updates did something (the only thing that COULD have done something).

Have you tried to restart vista?. There is a known problem loosing 3g conectiviy sometimes after resuming...

Just did - twice to make sure: nothing.
What I am starting to see now is that there must be some problem in the system, because...
it takes forever for the modem to turn on and off
the fingerprint software does not show up after a resume (after a reboot it does) but works
Also... is it possible that the modem is ON in Vista and OFF in WM??? WTF?

if modem is off in wm is off also in vista.

After I installed SP1 the marvel driver did not show up in device manager. Only when I klick on WLAN in control center it appears. Has anyone got an idea what has gone wrong there. I uninstalled SP1 again, but same problem. WLAN works fine, but driver vor Marvel only appears when I klick on WLAN.
Of Course, I uninstalled and installed Shagcontrol.
Any possible solution?

I resolve this problem.. when this appears, i reset wm side..
Il tuo problema viene fuori quando riparti dalla sospensione?
anche a me succede la stessa cosa.. per ovviare a questo resetto windows mobile da vista.
Oppure prova a disconnettere wm prima di accendere vista..

quello succede anche a me, ma non sempre. prima di mandare in sospensione da shagcontrol disattivo wlan.
quando poi riprendo l'attività riattivo wlan.
this happen to me, i deactivate wlan from shagcontrol before put in sleep mode the shift

I will probably spend tomorrow evening formatting everything and start from scratch.
Quick question: does the button in ShagCtrl in Vista hard-reset WM to factory default or is it a soft reset?

more news from my Shift. Last night I had some time left, so I decided to reformat my unit, also because after the update to SP1 Vista wouldn't boot beyond the spinning circle in the startup screen. So Fn + F3 it was...
The process ran well, after about an hour or so I had a perfectly usable Shift in my hands again, so thanks to HTC for making the process straightforward.
To get back to my "no 3G, no party" problem, I noticed that the 3G modem was working again during the initial stages after formatting, but that it was again not accessible after I declared it as a "Public" network in Vista. Of course, my home WLAN is the "Home" network, and this brings up a question...
During the final post-format stages, a "Shared NDIS Internet Connection" driver is found by the system, and in fact, immediately after this driver my 3G modem was back up and running.
What do the settings for "Home", "Office" and "Public" networks do in Vista? Do they create some kind of priority for connecting to one network when it is available? Does this mean that I cannot use (and it would be perfectly OK!) the 3G network while I am in the "Home" or "Office" area?

se metti la rete su home ti condivide tutto, se metti in ufficio non ricordo, ma su publica metti che sei in un bar non ti condivide nulla tranne la connessione wifi o ethernet. è una sorta di protezione. e quidi dato che la connessione 3g costa automaticamente vista la blocca in modo che nessun'altro possa accedervi.

if you put lan on home you can share all your folders and files in your or others lan, if you put office don't remember, if you put on public vista apply a kind of protection and don't share nothing.
i think that 3g connection is blocked with the lan menu on public because the costs of connection are high and personal.

New update
Hi all,
after having reset my Shift last weekend and re-installing the programs I use, my 3G connection now works, though intermittently. In order for Vista to see the 3G modem I need to reset SnapVue and wait for a few minutes.
Then the "bong" for the new driver comes, and I can connect.
I still need some time to play with the options, but this may be getting me somewhere...!

hello all..first like to say that you all so much for digging into the shift to fully liberate the unit so its free..thinking of the film one flew over the cockoos nest now when the indian chappie smashed through the window..anywho back to this tale of woh..ive had the problem myself..but it was on and off..the conclusion i arrived at was it was down to signal strengh or location and even network supplier..
first mine worked fine..then at work it would never connect on fista side..oops mean vista http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon10.gif Talk always get those 2 mixed up..anywho part 2 ..it was fine when i got home..signal strengh while i was at work wasnt great..but it still connected in wm side..ive just recently tried different card..again wm side fine..fista not most times..
i suggest to you that you have a wonder..see some old friends..take you shift with you and see what happens..

Yes, I tried install this 3G apk and my device go black screen, vibra and don't boot anything.

I had the same problem. Black screen continuous vibration my pad total bricked.
Solution is to place Acer 500 in download mode and to flash it again with 3.01 there in development section proper links to do that it is necessary to have your UID.
MY tablet is on again but it was a scary experience!!!!!!!

i had the same problem i solve it , the only thihg that you MUST have is UID of your device (without it nothing is going to work).
if you have it go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276227 and follow method 1 after you downloading the zip from step 1 extract it in a folder on your desk top open and run DoNetDetecter.exe follow the instructions when it try to recognize your devise wait 2-3 minutes and then a pop-up menu advice you how to set your device in download mod folow this after install the drivers in your computer press next and it is asks to input the UID of your device (without it nothing is going to work) , press next and wait 5-10 minutes maximum to flash the rom after that reboot and you can root it install clockwork recovery and restore your last backup after a full wipe.

lately i have been having some trouble with my phone, the GPS sometimes gives me some huge localization errors. I'm running stock rom with stock configuration.

L.E: the phone is not and has never been rooted, it runs on the official stock rom.

Nu e o problema specifica unei singure aplicatii, am observat ca de obicei ma pozitioneaza eronat timp de cateva minute dupa care revine. Problema e ca daca folosesc un program (gps tracker, foursquare, facebook, aplicatii de sfa cu inregistrare a locatiei, etc) care trebuie sa imi inregistreze locatia in momentul acela, o va lua in considerare pe cea eronata.

I just install 5.8.014s Developer ROM ( Le Max X820 ). I can't go Recovery to install other *.Zip packet. I have to try install other Recovery (TWRP ) but not run. Please help me...

Be careful with EUI 5.8, overwrite radio images and then you can´t go back to EUI 5.6.
Take a look in www.letv.re, I remember that read something about it.

Me too. I installed EUI 5.8.014s and after several reboots an attempts to get playstore working properly I decided to go back to backup as @UNDR8D83 described. It loaded but it didnt work. On reboot I got looping and with TWRP the half blue screen and the the blue led. Hard reset gets out of blue led and I can start fastboot. It gives okay x2 for flashing TWRP( i tried the Chinese-worked previously, and gemini didnt work previously, but both give half blue screen flashing followed by blue led.
Help please !!!!

it seems the 'blue led of death' is a soft brick haha didnt think in 2016 u could still brick android devices but yer
also when making a backup make sure to turn off all fingerprint/pattern/pin passcodes as i found out the hard way after loading backup it couldnt get past the lock screen

You need to describe better if you want sbdy to help
5.8.014 already has compatible TWRP.
Why you want to flash other non combatible TWRP ?
If you run into problem extract rec.img from 5.8.014 zip and overwrite via adb command. Check the forum and please don't double post existing issue.

I have done a totally clean install. I wiped everything on SD, system, data, cache, dalvick and then booted into recovery. I then transferred 5.8 zip, along with SuperSu, and gapps to the phone from PC. Flashed the dev zip, SuperSu.zip rebooted and installed Google play. Deleted all the Chinese Le-bloat and installed Apex launcher, Google Chrome, Google keyboard and Google photos. Good to go. Had an antutu score this morning of 140491. I have the 4 GB, 32 GB version.

Hi,
There's a workaround for this...
Boot into TWRP. Go to "Advanced" and then "File Manager". Navigate to "data/system" and delete these 2 files : "gatekeeper.pattern.key" and "locksettings.db".
Reboot... and reconfigure your security settings (delete existing fingerprints and enter new ones).
Done.

OTA for 5.8 15S just arrived on my phone this morning. Just updated it and everything seems to be working. PlayStore is OK. All my apps seems to work correctly.
So, it may be better to wait for it ?

Je suis en franglais... Applis en francais mais système en anglais (et 2 menus en chinois dans les settings mais sans importance)
Installation de morelocale2 necessaire si la rom précédente n'avait pas le francais,sinon il reste.

Le système est en français (avec des sous-menu des fois anglais voir des fois chinois ) avec play, gapps,... Je l'ai reçu en version 55.66.001133s (stable), la màj se fera par ota ? C'était peut etre pas la meme version que tu avais ?

Oui, tu peux essayer de lancer une recherche de maj dans les settings. Moi il me l'a proposée sans rien faire.

Update info - I received the LeMax2 with International ROM based on 13S........ I download the Stock ROM 15S from the http://bbs.le.com//zt/eui/le_max2.html. copy as update.zip to the phone root, went Vol Up+Power and with the simple EUI Recovery directly update.
No need for any root or TWRP ......keep it simple
Went so perfect and smooth upgrade, kept all my data - I was surprise how easy was it.
anyone with International version and no OTA menu - go for it. 15 minutes and U are on stock ROM and OTA updates.

I am glad you had a successful stock upgrade. This is the method for upgrade from LeEco using stock recovery. What I recommended was for a cleaner experience, so one root and remove Chinese apps/bloatware plus easy way to install Google Play (post in discussion). There are always multiple ways to do things, it all depends what your goals are.

Wear Os app starts normally without errors etc. and connects normally to the smartwatch.
The problem is when the watch needs to copy the google account from the phone to the watch.
Then it appears: Could not copy accounts.
Check that the phone has a network connection and is connected to the watch.
Maybe someone know how to solve it ???

Just wondering if anyone has found a fix for this yet???

I have a Casio WSD-F20, swap from Pixel 3 to Pixel 5 last week. Did a factory reset on the watch to clean reinstall everything and sync Wear OS with he new phone but it doesn't work.
It hangs at the transferring data from both devices and then can't continue but on the watch it says continue setup on your phone.
Tried everything, reset the watch again to factory. Cleared data WearOS, uninstall WearOS, rebooted many times both devices, factory reset the watch tried to sync it back with the Pixel 3, it doesn't pass the same screen every time the progress bar stops at the same place.
Before redoing the sync from a fresh install of the app WearOs on the phone, I added all permissions. Confirmed bluetooth is on device are in both hands so not too near and not too far...
Tried the recovery mode from here but it only displays a ! when selecting Factory reset.

Ciao ho lo stesso con un casio wsd f20a, dopo che esce il punto esclamativo tieni premuto il tasto centrale piu quello superiore dopo di che lasci prima quello superiore e vedrai che va nel menu segreto. puoi fare un hard reset ma non servira a niente. se si riuscisse a fare un aggiornamento del firmware forse si risolvebbe. Se qualcuno ha risolto mi farebbe piacere come fare
