Because you don't know nothing about your phone. That's why your battery sucks.
I'm using smartphones for 12 years or so, and I never had a problem with battery sucking, because I spent my time to search, use my brain and eliminate the problems.
Can you write something more instead of writing "battery life sucks" ?
This is my "sucking battery" after lot of learning and trying everything by myself.
My battery doesn't suck, your does. But this is the same battery, how comes?

I've noticed lately that my N4's battery life will lose its charge at a faster rate the lower the charge level gets. I've also noticed that if I'm playing a battery-intense game like Need for Speed the battery life will drop quickly but will continue dropping very quickly even after I've exited the game, as if there were some sort of lag time in battery-response. Am I imagining things?
I don't think you're imagining things. I have experienced this on my HTC Hero, my G2, and the Nexus 4 is no exception. Can't say I know why, exactly though.

Are you using a custom rom by any chance? I've noticed this since I've rooted my device.

Yup you're spot on - mine's done this almost since day 1. Spoken to Google, i'm awaiting my new phone delivery as apparently it's a bug!
Always know that a battery meter is nothing more than a calculated estimation of battery life and its constantly being re-evaltuated based on the battery output. Its possible that hte software is optimisitic until the battery starts getting low and then has to re-calcualte a more pessimistic number.

Stock ROM custom kernel, but I'm pretty sure it was like this before I switched over to Franco. I noticed yesterday after eyeing the battery for a while with full brightness the battery jumped from 15% to 12%...
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
thats normal behavior. usually itll drop quick from 100-92%, then drop slower from 92 to about 35%, then itll drop quicker from there. thats not a bug. thats how the battery meter has been since the g1 came out.
Battery gauges aren't accurate. Instead of going off of "intuition," you should pro-actively measure your battery performance with an app or a simple wrist watch, sheet of paper and pen.
Half of the stuff we do is subjective to what we notice vs what actually happens. Your battery use is entirely dependent on what you use your phone for. More likely than not, your phone is behaving normally and it's you who feels different about it.
so I bought the phone few days ago and the first thing I did was to empty the battery as advised, at about 20 % I was sleepy as hell and I wanted to drain the battery faster so the first thing came to my mind (and I regret that) was restarting the phone repeatedly so it would drain very fast , and I blindly did so , what a stupid idea! I did an approximate number of 15 restarts I guess with about 2 mins between each restart, sooo I am ready to take the consequences so what are they? what should I expect for the next few days? battery failure, cpu failure, ram failure, or even software failure?? the first 2 things I notice the battery now drain a little bit faster and the phone gets warmer faster than before
I don't think this will cause any harm at all. It's not like the phone takes a voltage surge during start up.
OTOH, there's no benefit to "conditioning" a lithium ion battery. If anything, it's counterproductive. Li batteries don't like being fully discharged or overcharged. Keep it between 25% and 75% as much as possible, and it will last the longest.

OMG thank u so much I was so worried cos I have a bad history of damaging and breaking stuff especially electronic stuff so u don't recommend me to fully charge it? 75% for maximum?? and rebooting is it safe in general?
Charging it fully won't really hurt anything. The phone's circuitry won't let the battery overcharge. But the battery will probably have a slightly longer life if it doesn't get charged to 100% all the time. Battery life is good enough that I can generally take mine off the charger at around 75% and can still get a full day out of it. But if I leave it on to 100% I don't worry about it. And if you like to charge yours overnight and it always goes to 100%, don't worry about that, either.
And yes, it's perfectly fine to reboot the phone. I generally reboot mine every couple of weeks. It seems to clear out some of the stuff that builds up in memory and runs a little smoother.
No, but draining the battery does, especially draining it fast.
When will these stupid myths about a totally different and obsolete battery technology die?

now I believe it's a myth too, but hey aren't some apps like games considered as battery-hungry apps? they drain batteries so fast too!!
I hope this is a joke..

Lithium-ion batteries degrade predictably throughout usage cycles, so the more you use them the more you reduce their total capacity. They're also more vulnerable to such degradation while under high temperatures, like when you drain them very fast by restarting the device. And yes, also if you're playing games. Obviously there's no point in getting a nice phone if you're not even gonna use it, but you can choose to spend those battery cycles on meaningful usage like playing games, rather than pointlessly restarting the device.
This is a classic example of thinking too hard. Just use and enjoy the phone and charge it when it needs charging.

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Asus ZenFone 4 Max before depleting the battery.

Excellent
I originally rated this as 4*, but after further use, I'd rate it as 5 stars. By far and away the best battery life I have ever seen on a smartphone, and the first phone I can actually get through a long day with heavy use without issue. :good:

Lenovo P2 all the way. Though I would wait a couple of months until Asus optimizes their software or custom ROMs appear. Now it is pretty early to judge ASUS battery, but from what I ve seen, seems a little dissappointing
Once in a while, when your significant other yells at you, you might use your phone a bit less. Rate this thread to express how the Google Pixel 4a's battery performs under light use. A higher rating indicates that the device goes a long time when you're using the phone sparingly: no gaming or video/audio streaming, light web browsing, some calling and texts, etc.

even if you use it lightly you need to frequently re-charge
I get 2+ days if I don't play with my apps too much. I do use Greenify w/o root w/adb

I guess you are running stock Android 12. Its full of bugs and drains battery a lot. Either downgrade it to 11 or use custom 12 ROM. Here's mine running android 10.

He's just relaying the general consensus re: best practice for battery longevity...it's best to not let your battery get too low b4 charging and only charge to 80% if u need the max possible battery lifetime. Imo that's for those who don't/can't upgrade often and need their phones to last 3-4+ years under heavy use. I try and get a new phone every 2 years so I charge to 90% and 'try' to charge b4 my batt saver activates at 15%.

Oh, my bad. Me too keep my phones for 3-4 years. And I also charge my phone till 80% only. With 100% full charge its a 2 day phone for me. I have a 3 year old iPhone XR and battery health still at 90%.

Out of love for this phone, I try and get two calendar days out of it before I charge it again. I make it most of the time. I try and not charge it until I get below twenty percent, hoping this extends the life of the phone.
