Information on Pumpkin 12-C0257-US

Hey,
i recently purchased a truck that had this headunit it it, previous owner said it didnt work well - as far as i can see the sound works very intermittently, perhaps playing for a second, then nothing for 5-10, keystrokes when typing on the keyboard to play, and you do hear the music briefly, so i know it has the potential to work. perhaps it just needs firmware? can anyone guide me as to information on this? what common unit it it based on? what firware can i flash onto it - if any?

ive tried reaching out to pumpkin and had no response, and it wont let me force it to reboot with pressing the RST button followed by the "middle button" for two short presses and then a long press uuntil the menu appears"
it does have an SD card inside the unit, which i have seen it advised that they use this to force an update?
anyone lend a hand?

I dont know what it is I m afraid, but it DEFFO is not and MTCB or MTCC unit.
Maybe someone else will be able to identify it.

Thanks for your input. This thing is driving me insane - I don't want to buy a new unit if this thing is salvageable.

I would read through the Android Headunit General forum and see if you can see any with the same info in the settings/about device screen as yours.

I'll have a look again, but I did scroll through for a good time and didn't find anything, seems like this is an uncommon variant of pumpkins devices.

Actually there are no Pumpkin devices, Pumpkin are a seller, they buy from several different manufacturers and sell as their own.

Problem with Bluetooth music

, its running anroid 7.1 and everything has been working fine. However I can't seem to play audio from my phone onto my head unit. It shows that it is connected via bluetooth and I can take calls from it but I can't play music from my phone/ipad onto the head unit via bluetooth.
I hope you guys can give me some tips on how to make it work.

go to your bluetooth settings and check your paring options: it should have Contacts, Call/dialing, Media. Is Media selected?

Yeah, on my phone I have both call and media selected. I can select it as my audi output but nothing happens.

Never mind, I should have read the manual. I needed to open the ad2p app after connecting to play music.

I have no idea which machine or launcher it is, as I'm sure it has been rebranded and it's not even a Lenovo.
I wanted to add a pin lock, just in case I leave the car at a Parking facility.
The launcher does not offer access to android settings but I managed to access them after some installed app moved me to some part of the settings. From there, although I think the security options were not visible, I found them using the search feature.
I enabled a simple pin lock, which I am very certain I keyed in correctly, twice.
After rebooting the machine, I cannot get past the pin lock.
The machine boots, steering wheel controls work, but i cannot get past the pin lock.
I sent an email to the local shop, but i don't have high hopes
I do not have the option to bypass the pin by entering gmail passwords, it just keeps letting me try one password every 30sec.
Is there any chance the unit has some pre-defined screen lock that i should try?
From where I stand, i can only erase the unit from "find my phone". Should i go ahead and do it or will it also remove all the installed launcher and apps?
Lastly, can anyone recognize the type of the unit and the name of the launcher, so i can search for more resources?

Android seicane h2 and external dac

hey everybody my dad just bought a new seicane
Double din H2 10.0 android
With the DSP add on
It’s in a 2012 Toyota sienna
We had a second there originally and we moved to an Alpine
But he’s giving me the Alpine to throw in another car so he got this new one
Problem is the sub else does not have any sound
Things don’t seem to be working correctly
I’ve seen this as a common issue
But is there any actual fix?
Also is it possible to use an external dac?
I have an audio technica and Berhinger card
Using a separate app to push audio through USB output it works but I want to get android system sound to go through
That way radio Bluetooth and all other sounds are pushed out

Hi, most probably , must change radio chip settings in infotainment hidden /admin menu, there is an option IC type of radio, must change to other chip settings.Try with that first

From what I see there is only a part called extra settings with the password 126

What is in factory settings ? Can you make photo of that menu (if it asks pin code try 8888 or what number it is)
And add photo of the menu RADIO in pic nb. 3 please.

"rk3368_user debug" - this is the designation of software update you might look for.
It is most probably on Russian PDA forum. Find & download right software and update device. It might fix the problem. That is one solution.
I'll study more when you get this pic of that radio menu.
P.S. What version of android is it and is it PX5 or PX6 chip?

It doesn't give me an option to login on this screen at all.

Solved it you can not run a VPN for it to show.

Ok even better solution run a VPN that has split tunneling and then add Tesla and Bluetooth to the excluded list.

That's sound good for you and your Tesla, but can I suggest you to reduce your pics.
Indeed when you upload your pics you will find "Insert"
Once you've clicked to "Insert", you will see up "Thumbail" and bellow "Full image".
It's better to click to "Thumbail" and your pics will appears full size whe someone click on.

Which screen can you have on your nothing, look like the Tesla app or?

Unable ot connect to my Tesla.
I've the message when connected to my account "Null" and "no car connected to the account".
I use the same mail and password used un the tesla app and the account on windows.
So it seems that the connect to Tesla is bloqued by tesla.
