This is a hardware feature which needs to be unlocked by ASUS. Along with that, software implementations are necessary. People have asked ASUS in their forum with no reply

Hi everyone!
Since zenfone zoom, selfie and laser have manual exposure up to 32 seconds, why wouldn't this be possible with ZE551ML too? I was thinking about acrchitecture, but the zoom is x86 too, so there must be some way to unlock this in our phone (and possibly on zenfone 5 and 6 too).
What could be done to fool the pixelmaster camera app to think it's installed on a zenfone laser or zoom? editing build.prop? does anyone have a laser or zoom here that could maybe check the settings and config so we could try to enable this?
This was posted in general thread and it works, but limited to 1 second and I did not see a difference in the resulting photo:

Since many smartphone out there can shoot at very slow shutter speed (some ****ty chinese phone can shoot 32s long). Im asking u guys any solution to increase the shutter speed more than 1 second?
Any ideas are welcome.
have you even checked if the sensor is the same across these devices? the 551mml uses a toshiba t4k37 sensor.
edit: yea so the zoom uses a panasonic smartFSI sensor so i highly doubt your just going to "enable" the features missing as the toshiba sensor in the 551ml most likly doesnt support the same shutter speed as the panasonic sensor

I agree, the sensors are not the same on the zoom and the zf2, but what about laser and selfie?
Would that be tied to sensor driver limits or OS limits? after all, the same pixelmaster camera is used across devices, so maybe there would be a chance anyway.

from what i can tell the laser and selfie use the same toshiba sensor but with laser auto focusing (hence the name =P)
so if its true and the laser and selfie do have that option then maybe it isnt hardware limited on our phone. but then again im no expert it could have something to do with the intel chipset too being as the laser and selfie use a snapdragon cpu.
but as you stated the first thing you might try is changing the build.prop to show the 551ml as the laser or selfie.

Yup, I'll go to laser/selfie forums and ask for their build.prop and camera_profiles.xml and will fiddle with those.
I'll be back with my results.
see my post, have 32's exposure
Is there any mod that can take long exposure shots in our kenzo with full resolution? Normally what we get is long exposure with 2-3 mp resolution. I've seen a magisk module only for redmi note 4 which enables long exposure in any manual camera with full resolution. Is there any way it can be done in kenzo??
Here’s the link which guides for long exposure for redmi note 4..
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/guide-long-exposure-redmi-note-4-redmi-t3657343
If anyone know of such thing for our device please help!
Thanks!
I know this is a noob question or rant
But isn't max pro m2 have similar camera sensor used in Zenfone 5 or 5z which provides so many camera features
RAW support, full manual support, AI charging and lots more
I known we can't have all this in max pro m2 but we can have some feature in max pro m2 since it uses SD660 and zenfone 5 uses SD636 and zenfone 5 offer so more
Why can't we root max pro m2 and install zenfone 5 ROM to get most of its features
I am really disappointed with the camera development group
I know its not easy to develop anything from scratch but cmon enable camera2api for just GCAM it only just amps up the brightness with algorithms
Why can't we get full manual control of the camera of a phone which have such better hardware both in terms of sensor and processor
Enable camera2api and we can't get shutter speed above 1/4 sec or iso of 50 or RAW support
Why can't we have all this feature in one app even after enable camera2api on rooted max pro m2
I am not writhing this to trash anyone but can't we all come together to make this phone a better in terms of camera and battery where we can fully utilize the hardware capability
Cmom you guys are XDA developer
There is raw support in gcam.
But u can't have manual control like iso, shutter speed in gcam and gcam is kind of not that great where as u can get amazing result in full manual control+ RAW
I found this post stupid, i believe that the devs is still working on it. If you got nothing good to share please stay quite.
They are deeply sorry and are offering a full refund if you submit the receipt . Oh wait.

Is there any way to achieve higher exposure times? Other phones with similar camera sensor (sony imx298) like OnePlus 3t, Asus Zenfone 3, Xiaomi mi 5 etc. allow longer exposure time, up to 32 sec, but for our phone it seems that it is limited at 0.6 sec. Is there any camera app or lib mod to bypass our phone exposure limit? Thanks in advance!

Set whichever camera that you prefer as the default then install Long Exposure Camera 2
Get the step by step here : https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...os-fireworks-with-your-android-phone-0155508/
Finally, once you have taken an amazing shot comeback here as post it to show thanks.
Enjoy!
At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the Redmi Note 9 Pro's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Honestly... It sucks. Hope it gets better with time and Gcam. I have an S10e and its camera in low light fcking kick ass
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (Indian Variant with Samsung GM2/48 MP) has turned out to be a real disappointment for me in terms of low light or night time photography department. I don't care about daytime clicks but it's a let down for night photos. Redmi note 8 with the same sensor sees everything at night, you can take highly sensitive night clicks even at total dark albeit with a little more noise but note 9 pro even cannot see in darkness like note 8, man it's like blind and pictures come out like it has a black curtain all over the lens ... why? I can't even believe it's with f/1.8 aperture. It seems like image has come out of f/2.8 lens not with f/1.8 lens as it's in the specification. Folks, do not buy it if you are expecting bright night photos out of it like redmi note 8 or Mi A3 even with GCam. I rate it's camera 2 stars for low light pictures. Really disappointed and I want Xiaomi's answer or reason for this ...
Low light photo sucks, but Gcam (in my test PixelCam) takes awesome low light photos

Prepare to be amazed.
It's much better than the Lenovo P2 ?

But as I can see in their site it's for Note 8 Pro.
It work with Note 9S? The xml is compatible?
Folks! Note 9S/Pro and probably Pro Max can't properly see in the full darkness like Mi A3 or even Redmi Note 8. It needs light to see properly. A big let down for Night Photography when you compare much capable or upgraded hardware of Note 9S/pro. Check an attachment (Reduced) or a link (Large size) for extreme low light seen captured by these 3 devices mentioned here. Let me know which picture you guys liked.
All three pics shot using Night Sight mode with the default setting in trCamera v6.0

Yes, It works on Note 9S without any problem (although only main camera works)
Not bad I think.
I went into the bathroom and shut down all lights. Guess what, the cam was infrared...
Sent from my Redmi Note 9 Pro using XDA Labs
Low light on this phone lowkey sucks. It is not as blind as my previous phones, but it is not great.
Hint: Go to pro mode and increase the EV to max. Quality will be crap, but at least you will be able to see things.
Decreasing shutter speed also helps but it is only a visual change. The phone does not actually take the picture with that shutter speed.
