I was running Team ExyKings Pie rom. wanted to switch to nougat. But I can't flash through odin.
It gives error like
SW REV. CHECK FAIL (BOOTLOADER) DEVICE:3 BINARY: 2.
in red color. What can be the problem?
Please help fix this issue.
EDIT : I found the solution.

I'll tell the solution here so that everyone can fix this thing.
First thing to keep.in mind is that if you update your bootloader and kernel. Phone won't let you install the older version of bootloader. Which is one of the main reasons I couldn't switch back to stock nougat.
Just reboot your phone to bootloader and flash twrp recovery. Then flash a custom oreo or nougat rom. That's the only fix.
If you try and flash any nougat custom rom. There is a high probability that you won't be getting any reception out of it. As nougat uses old BL and CP.
Or you can simply download the latest oreo stock rom and flash through odin as it comes with latest bootloader and stuff.
Thanks for reading and being patient?

I successfully rooted device 3 months back. Firmware updated week back. On trying to reroot using odin, following firmware upgrade, the device will not boot up. Only opening screenwith small red ! visible.
When restarting in recovery mode the following is visible;
odin mode
secure download: enable
mdm download block: 0
product name: sm-g360h
current bin: custom
system status: official
I hope someone has experienced this failure and that help is out there somewhere as I would hate to dump the phone.
Please Help
Trevor
The best thing you can do is to grab the OFFICIAL firmware for your device and flash it with Odin. If you need help doing this I can explain if need be. What most likely happened is you use a root method that only worked for the previous version of the phone.
Smg360h
Have just downloaded firmware and the phone is working fine. Thank you
If you want to try rooting again this thread looks of use. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ead-samsung-galaxy-core-prime-t3354916/page11 Also there is a cyanogenmod developed for your device. Cyanogenmod comes with root but you have to enable it in developer options.
Thanks. Will do this.
I factory reseted my S5 but when it went for the restart it said:
Recovery booting...
SYS REV CHECK FAIL(K) : No version
Secure : SECURE VERSION failure (recovery.img)
then
SECURE FAIL: RECOVERY
with Start up Failed screen and a prompt text to use the software repair assistant.
As you can see i while back i tried to flash it to newer OS but i remember i just couldn't manage to install the custom recovery or root it so i dropped it. Now it's come back to bite me in the ass, what do i do? Please help me out.

Those writings do not bode well.
I'd try to flash the latest stock factory service firmware for your SM-G900V.
You can download it here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850486654

I am currently downloading the 5.0 lollipop from sammobile as that is what was originally on. I have my doubts as to whether it will work since i was most likely unable to root the device or install the custom recovery. Is it possible to flash it back to stock firmware without root?

Rooting process changes system partition and/or boot (kernel) partition.
They both (and recovery partition too) will be reverted back to stock after flashing a stock firmware.
Which version of LP do you currently have?

I finally finished downloading the verizon 5.0 G900V firmware and flashed my phone with odin which surprisingly worked. But now it has so much bloatware crap it almost makes up two entire screens. Can i flash it to latest marshmallow stock rom and should i ? Since i don't believe i will be tinkering with it anymore. Anyway thanks for your help.

You definitely can but I cannot say if you should.
It depends on many things.
I think it's a good idea to have the latest firmware if you're just a usual phone user and not interested in rooting and so on.
I've been using my S8 G950F for one week (Nougat Stock, don't recall which specific rom, no root nor nothing) until it suddenly froze, tried to reboot but couldn't get past the Samsung logo screen. I tried to flash a stock firmware using Odin but got a Fail with the Device Info error which I could successfully fix with the so well known trick of getting back to download mode real quick.
Now I can flash any rom I want (downloaded from Updato) without any issues (PASS on odin), but no matter what ROM I flash I still can't get past the Samsung logo. I tried flashing both Nougat (AQF7 and AQL5), Oreo (CRAP, CRC7 and CRD7) using Oding 3.12.3 and 3.13.1 (for Oreo roms).
I also tried using Prince Comsy's Odin and once again got the Device Info error but using the same trick as before I could flash a Nougat rom but still can't get past the Samsung logo.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Should I flash any particular ROM or in a specific order? Should I try with other Odin version? KIES doesn't detect my device.
Any help is greatly appreciated! I just don't know what else to try and I can't find nobody nobody that has had the same issue I'm facing.
Thanks in advance! Any additional info you may need just ask me!
PS: one thing that caught my attention is that when I go to download mode it says: Knox 0x0 and "System Status: Custom". Is that alright?

I don't know your device really well but that error means your flashing older firmware to your device than what you had on it. As in downgrading. Find a newer firmware and try in Odin 3.13
It's telling you that your device is 3 and your flashing binary 1 or 2
Use updato .com to download a recent firmware and use a stable version of odin (3.12/3.13), most recent versions of odin can cause problems
Hello xda Community,
it's me again but this time in the S7 Edge section.
I have a very big problem. I have a Galaxy S7 Edge and I think it's bricked.
The Phone won't turn on and I'm not able to enter the recovery mode but the download mode is working.
I have tried to flash the Oreo Stock Rom but this didn't worked. Moreover I've tried to flash the TWRP recovery but this failed too
I get errors like Kernel Rev check fail device or sw rev check fail Bootloader.
I should mention that the FRP Lock is ON
Please help me guys I thank you all for the ideas
PS: I'm very sorry about my English. I know, it's not perfect
Your stock software should match with mobile type .If they are same it wont be a problem..

I did the same thing but i managed to get it working by flashing TRWP again through odin. It would also be better if u copy over a custom rom aswell using the adb push command in terminal because i accidentaly set off DM verity.

My S7 Edge is blocking the flash process with Odin because of the FRP Lock
Thats why I am not able to Flash TWRP
Flash twrp and then a custom rom afterwards..

I already said that I'm not able to flash TWRP. The reason is that my phone denies the flash process because of the FRP Lock
you can try https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/how-to-remove-frp-lock-guide-t3855793
I had this exact same problem a month back, I forgot to enable OEM unlock and I faced the same issues.
I downloaded the very latest stock rom at the time, and it was the 1st November security patch version. Try that and let me know.
Go to grifofdev and then ask the admin. He is a helpful person and will solve your problem..
Download the latest oreo firmware from updato, sammobile download speed is ridiculous. The latest at the time solved it for me 100%
