Please post GPS lock video

Hi All,
Sorry for starting a new thread for this but I would like for someone to post a video (youtube or whatever) of a vibrant getting a fix on more than 3 sats. It would be great if you could use the GPS Status application for this.

[email protected] seems to work best for me. Well, it doesn't record video, but you can use something like Camtasia or what have you to record it.

I don't remember the original authors' sites, but a quick Google search will probably find them for you. They have not been updated sadly.
To run them, make sure android sdk tools is in your PATH and then run the jar file (assuming you have java and android sdk setup correctly, double-clicking them should work on Windows).

WOW... 7 locks? I've never been able to get more than 2 even with all the workarounds

best i ever got was 4, now its usually around 1 or 2

For the record, that's on a rooted phone, with Eugene's ROM applied, plus some tweaks you made in LboTest. Right?

I've had a lock on more than 2 or 3 sats before.
These are just the ones in my tinypic account, I have plenty more on my phone.

Does his ROM address the "which satellites are locked" bug? Cause I can get a fix even with 0 satellites locked, and that's clearly bogus.
I'm guessing it doesn't actually help accuracy... does it?

I can only lock to 3 satelites, but the phone is stock, I just changed the settings to google servers

To be clear I don't have his "rom" on my phone, I just updated some GPS settings with what he posted. I still locked on 3+ sats before but not always

low image quality in browser since 2.3.2 update

I manually updated to 2.3.2 and re-rooted my NS...
first thing I noticed ( using 3G/H ) was image quality in the "Browser" application was lower for some reason... so I cleared the cache and data for the "Browser" and still showing low quality...
I cleared the cached the second time ( not data ) and switched on WiFi and all the images are now high quality again... but when I return back to 3G/H... some of the images are still showing high because of the cache... but any new images I've not seen before ( since the last time the cache was cleared )... show low quality again
does anyone else have this?

is this normal behaviour from Android?

something I noticed new now while on 3G/H
After the page has loaded. All the images are low quality... I refresh the page right there and the image goes high quality again... When I go to another page... it goes low quality again and I refresh again and goes high quality again...

I agree. loading up the battlenet eu site on both my phone and my laptop, looks about as good on either one. Definitely not blurry or low quality in my opinion.
I am on 2.3.2, and I turned the phone to EDGE (no wifi or 3G here right now). Site took forever to load up, though.

that website doesn't even load on my computer or phone maybe it has something to do with me being in USA but ehh who knows.

From what i remember this is just a T-Mobile UK thing

S4 Crashes when watching videos

Hi I've got my phone (GT-I9505) with vodafone contract (italy) and I noticed that after OTA update I9505XXUAME2 when i watch videos it freezes and got artefacts and then it reboots, everything else it's ok, very good device.

Alredy tried to factory reset and still the problem.
Will flashing again the rom solve this problem?

i got exactly the same problem than you (take a look there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41082635) the day i received it so i decided to return it...after 3 weeks they send it back with the same problem (they changed the camera and update the system) but always the same damn problem. i thought i was the only one to have this problem...i bought my S4 since it came out and i used it only for 2 days... i hope they will give me another S4 because this is serious hardware problem. Good Luck

Thanks for the fast answer you said so that's an hardware problem? I've got some videos to not freeze with mx player (mp4 video) but with artefacts.
Anyway they are out of S4 and need to wait until this tuesday and hope they will get it for a replacement with a new one or it must go into warranty :/

i thought mx player fixed the problem for me too but NO watch the whole video and u will see the phone reboot. Next week i will get back my S4 and see if they fixed the problem but honestly i prefer a new one.
When i watched your pictures it reminds me my problem artefact then reboot even with youtube sometimes u think that the phone playing video but after a few minutes it reboots.

Whatsapp scrolls up by opening keyboard

Hi Guys,
I have a annoying problem with whatsapp.
When i receive a new message i open it and i see the latest message.
Then i open the keyboard to send back a message and thats when the problem kicks in whatsapp scrolls up a bit so i cant read te coversation, unless i scroll down.
This is only happend with new incomming messages.
When i open an older conversation whatsapp doesnt scroll up when i open the keyboard.
Im using custom rom cm13
I am nog sure if this is a specific whatsapp problem.
Anybody has a solution? Or maby more people with the same problem?

I've noticed the exact same issue - I've even joined their beta program thinking that maybe they have already fixed the issue in beta (they didn't, it still exists). No real work around that I've found.

I made a new clean install and now it's working fine again.
I think it had something to do with immersive mode.

?? (wish they had a male version) I didn't even think to do that. Funny how you get ahead of yourself sometimes trying to find a complex solution... I'll give that a try.

After a while my prone started doing the same thing..
Still havent found any solution

I noticed the exact same thing. Initially it seemed fine, but it's gone back to needing to scroll to the bottom to see the latest message. I've tried using both swiftkey and Swype keyboards with the same result.

Strange.
Well maby a new update will fix this in the future, i hope sooner than later though..
I also have a problem with playing a video from the chat screen.
When i receive a video and download it, i cant play the file straight from the chat screen.
If i go back and reopen the chat then press the video it does play.
I is a little annoying when i receive a video, i have to close the chat, reopen it and then be able to play the video.

HDR video issue

Has anyone noticed that HDR videos have black spots?

Watched the video you linked and a few others without issues
I am assuming you have enabled hdr and super cinema mode in the display settings?

I have both enabled and the issue persists. Did you use official youtube app? It works fine form me in browser. Can you check whether video quality states HDR?

Looks fine on China ROM.
Edit: I don't have the black spots during playback. I'm surprised they just appeared on the screenshot itself. LOL.

I tried in the official YouTube app as last time I watched the footage threw the browser. Again the video played perfectly could fast forward rewind continually pause it and could not recrate the issue, quality Was definitely set to hdr.
As above though when I tried to take a screen shot to show it's working ok on mine, it recreates the same result your getting in the screenshot. But the video playback is no issue, i am also on the global ROM.

Same issue in global version. SKYW1903272OS01MP1

It seems it is partially fixed in version SKYW1905210S01MP2. The issue is only visible when video is rotating (change of orientation).
